Looking for a good regional jet/turboproop
Also have a look at the Aerosoft Twin Otter. This will be suitable for the sort of flying that you like to do and works with the default planner

Problems after switching to FSX SE
Eureka! I have FSX SE installed on a dedicated SSD under E:/FSX and pointed the Fixer to that instead of to the full path:- E:/FSX/steamapps/common/FSX. I've amended the path and all is now well. Thank you for your help.

Problems after switching to FSX SE
A few days ago i uninstalled FSX and installed FSX SE and have had a few issues with the Fixer which was running perfectly in FSX I get a diagnostic warning that the General10, Water40, SwarmCloud40 and Rain40 shaders are not the originals. I thought this might be because I use Rex4 Texture direct but I was also using this without problems under FSX I decided to use Steam's 'Verify Cache' facility in case there were any installation errors but still get the same message. I then ran Uninstall Libraries (several files were flagged as 'could not be found' during this process) and tried to reinstall them but get a message that the 'envmap.bmp' is not the original and it stops. The manual contains a warning that the bkg.bmp and envmap.bmp might have been converted to dds files but I have checked the folders and they are both shown as bmp files. Is there anything more I can do - other than reinstalling FSX?

Jetstream commemorative flight over Everest
A Jetstream will be flown over Everest to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the first such flight http://www.scotsman.com/the-scotsman/features/remembering-the-scots-who-flew-over-everest-some-80-years-ago-1-2855400 'This year, to mark the 80th anniversary of that first Everest flight, another group of Scots will fly over the summit. Going on the expedition is Hamilton’s grandson, Charles Douglas-Hamilton. They will use a Jetstream aircraft manufactured by the very company founded by McIntyre and Hamilton after their Everest adventure – Scottish Aviation Ltd. This firm was based at Prestwick Airport in Ayrshire, another creation of McIntyre and Hamilton.' I might just try to emulate them.

PACK lights
Does this mean we'll have to ground our 737s until it's put right?

ATC sound
I use a USB headset and in the FSX Settings Sound page set 'Sounds' to the sound card and 'Voice' to the USB headset. Sounds come through the speakers and ATC through the headset the volume of which can be adjusted separately. This arrangement also works well with VATSIM.

big problems - please help...
Does this apply to just default or all aircraft? If by 'invisible' you mean that they no longer appear on the aircraft selection page, make sure that you have ticked the 'Show all variations' box.

Throttle problem with 800NGX & FSX
Do you have any other conrollers (eg a joystick) installed? Make sure that all assignments for other controllers are deleted in the FSX Control section.

Mouse wheel not working anymore for MCP knobs
Just to clarify, this was a problem with ALL aircraft (default and 3rd party) in FSX, not just PMDG and occurred irrespective of view. The dials could be changed with right and left clicks but not using the scroll. Presumably there was some sort of conflict between W7 and FSX.

Mouse wheel not working anymore for MCP knobs
Apologies for resurrecting an old thread but I've just experienced the same problem. It occurred after I changed the standard text size in windows 7 from the default 125% to 150%. Changing it back solved the problem.

Selling DVD ?
The European Court of Justice has recently ruled that it is legal for a buyer to resell software whether this is in a tangible (eg DVD) or intangible (eg digital download) format even where the licence agreement says it is not transferable. http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/software/1293205/eu-court-makes-reselling-downloaded-software-legal PMDG products would require reactivation on the second buyer's PC. PMDG might refuse to do this though given the above ruling such action might be deemed illegal (at least in Europe). As far as I am aware, such a scenario has not yet been tested in court.
