  1. What!? You guys found a fix for the simconnect crashes!? Outstanding!
  2. Originally Aamir said the new engine model would be for the IAE only, with the CFM's coming at a later date. Nothing in the post has suggested that's changed. I'm about 68.75% sure that the new engine model is only for the IAE's right now, with no window or date set for the CFM's.
  3. Abrams, I think he knew what you meant. It sounds like he was (rudely) suggesting that FSLabs entering the market can only be a positive for consumers because if it's of high enough quality, Fenix will always have to stay ahead. He's saying, I believe, that competition brings higher fidelity products to the market.
  4. Pft, back in my day you paid $40 to get into the AirSimmer Fenix Beta that goes belly up after 13 months of missed release dates. 😂 In all seriousness, man Fenix has been busy! I truly did not expect all of this.
  5. Legacy. I tried switching to Lock but it didn't do anything. Unplugged mouse and all other USB's and plugged just the mouse in and nothing. Tried resetting mouse to default, and nothing. It doesn't happen all the time; Usually after a few minutes of playing rather than right away, too.
  6. It's part of the white dot bug. Not everyone gets it, just like not everyone gets the white dot or white panel border. It's just another part of the glitch lottery we all played. Example video of the bug on MSFS Forum Example video of the bug on Reddit.
  7. The mouse flicker bug is the worst. Waiting over half a year for a hotfix is honestly upsetting. Games with 1 dev put out similar hotfixes over one weekend.
  8. Assuming you don't accidentally buy hardware that gives you problems, or unknowingly use the wrong combination of add-ons, or run the wrong peripherals, or use a bad combination of drivers, or use the wrong game settings, or do any number of things simmers have done that lead to day-ruining issues. 😂 Sometimes it feels like playing the lottery. It's amazing when you win, but when you lose you feel like you wasted time and money. Edit: Not to you Dom, but something I've seen in this thread: I think one of the biggest problems with AVSIM is that we kind of tend to dismiss people when they raise concerns, so long as what's happening to them isn't happening to us or what feature they desire we couldn't care less about. Really wish we'd stop doing that.
  9. I think I had a memory leak because I never cleared my cache after installing new World Updates. The lack of visible simobjects is probably because I turned up my AIG AI traffic to 75% while still using GSX boarding at an airport like the iniBuilds LAX. If I just avoid GSX boarding and turn down my AI traffic I think I might avoid breaking the limit. Hopefully all of this will be solved in 2024. I'm hoping the "simobject limit" will be limitless and all memory leaks are fixed with the new terrain. Fingers crossed. 🤞
  10. MS Store version here. Just did a flight from KLAX to KBUF. Sadly I exceeded the 1000 simobject limit before arriving in KBUF and all of the ground textures were 480p with no buildings or AI (but I could hear their engines / ATC calls) and the runway was just low res painted grass. Also I had a memory leak because I went from 30 FPS locked at the Inibuilds LAX to ~1 FPS at the default KBUF. 😥 I did manage to land the Fenix with a -60 ft/min touchdown with 1 fps though. I'm actually kind of proud of that. 😂 Today had the single most problems I've ever seen since I purchased MSFS202. Only thing I did today was download a bunch of World Updates I never installed. I'm sure I'll figure it all out.
  11. Slightly off topic but I just booted up MSFS for really the first time in a long time and now I have a white circle at the center of the screen at random, and the cockpit instruments get a white outline whenever I pan around, if I move the cursor while panning it slows the panning by 90%, and the menu item bar shows up whenever the mouse is moved. it's all really just sloppy.. What is happening with this sim? Can't it just have a simple cursor like every other game?
  12. I really want to hate this because of the developers actions since 2021, but this is such a great update I can't in good conscious not recommend it. Rarely does a product put me in such a mixed place. If you're looking for a great cabin crew program, I recommend this only with the understanding that future updates are not guaranteed. Take as is.
  13. As an idea this is a 10/10. As an attempt it looks like it should still be in alpha. There's no reason in 2023 an NPC has to look like he's straight out of GTA San Andreas. The guy should be photorealistic with proper lighting, shaders, breathing, etc. There are free indie games with far more realistic player models at no cost to frames. I'm also a bit put off by the way he hits a button and goes back to his default hands on knees pose. Because he's doing a flow FS2Crew could have programmed him to keep looking in the direction of the flow and to keep his hand hovered around that area until the flow is completed. It's basic animating that most every other modern game gets right. If FS2crew is going to charge $40 bucks for the whole thing, they aught to invest in motion capture software and their own high fidelity copilot models.
  14. I don't know how to work the Commanche AP, so I cannot help you there, but as a Single Engine Prop this left roll is normal. There are 5 causes. The biggest is torque: As the propeller spins clockwise the force tries to spin the airplane counterclockwise. There is also more propwash over the right wing than the left due the center of thrust from the prop being to the right of the cabin. There's also rotating winds from the prop which form a spiraling slipstream that has a small left roll force along with a much lager left yaw. Another cause is that you're often alone in the aircraft, and because you're to the left the left side of the aircraft weighs more and wants to roll heavy side down. Finally the wings are not identical; They're angled slightly differently in an effort to equal these forces during high altitude cruise speed. If you fly too fast, however, you'll have a left roll effect. These all add up fast.
  15. His singing, rambling, and strained grunts made me mute the video before realizing I was only watching for the voices. What an unpleasant streamer for such an amazing product showcase.
  16. He's saying that because you're flying the "manual flight" aircraft on a computer where your peripherals are processed by software, all aircraft in MSFS are by effect "FBW" as there's no analog possible. And so to simulate the FBW of an airliner isn't adding any more computational workload, as the sim does exactly that to begin with. At least that's how I interpreted the Captain.
  17. What comments here are anti-PMDG? Aren't people talking about different ways PMDG can do the engine model?
  18. In that case, if Aamir wants to make money hand over fist, maybe he could partner with PMDG to allow them to license the engine model his team has worked so hard on. Pennies on the dollar for every sale. Simmers get realistic engine models for the 737, 777, 747, etc, PMDG spends less resources finding solutions, and Fenix gets more money at no risk because it's a license. Everyone wins! I realize I'm being completely ridiculous here, but sometimes it's fun to day-dream! 😂
  19. I wonder if PMDG would have been better off designing a custom external engine model like Fenix is doing; Because in the long run, they'll need it for the 777, 747, and all future aircraft.
  20. Because some people want the other features more than they want to not pass through AI traffic. It took me longer than I'd like to admit, but understanding that people with grossly different priorities than you exist is the quickest way to answer most questions that start "Why don't people just..."
  21. I think you're confusing acceptance with tolerance. Everyone would prefer it if B-ATC controlled traffic, but it does not. So you can ignore the product, or look at what it does do well. To some, what it does well is worth the investment, especially if that investment hastens the arrival of AI Control. I also think people are willing to overlook issues that are being worked on. We're all very used to the early access models in gaming, nowadays. Patience is the blood of gamers.
  22. FSHud controls the traffic. B-ATC *will* control the traffic, but not version 1. The dev plans to see if MSFS 2024 will come out with native API to allow him to control the traffic; if it does not, then he will invest resources into controlling AI. His reasoning is that he'd rather spend a year working on core features than something that Asobo might fix natively next year. In either case, version 2 will have AI control.
  23. You can have your copilot answer radio calls and change frequencies.
  24. 😂 I hear Steve just finished at the Star Citizen University for Release Date Management. Should be any day now! It's such a shame that these products didn't go all in on the FSPax capabilities. In 2023 it's perfectly reasonable to expect a cabin program to have most of those 2009 era features. FSCaptain was actually better than SLC for P3D, but they haven't made the hop to MSFS yet. If you want a product to keep on your radar: Keep an eye on FSFO (Flight Sim First Officer). It's a co-pilot addon right now, but the dev wants to branch off into FSPax capabilities and simulate the rest of the crew and the PAX. He's done really fantastic work and is active on his discord.
  25. The thread title is Accusim-Like Flight Dynamics in 2024. I assumed base aircraft as a comparison was fair game. Torque, P-Factor, and Spiraling Slipstream are supposed to be simulated in the new CFD for the 172 but I don't see it, so in line with the discussion I mentioned it. If I was misunderstood the relevance than I apologize.
