  1. I have it happen a lot when I am in the 3 monitor mode with views of left, center, and right. Couple of times I had to get to task manager to close out x-plane 11 and start again. Seems like it happens mostly during full screen mode then the 530 will not float, within the C172. Will the try the ~ trick, thanks for heads up. Looks like bug report time, if I can figure out how to explain it correctly. Hope you guys do the same. Chuck
  2. Rich, Don't forget to take a look at the read-me file, important info on your computer I.P. address setting. Chuck
  3. Jcomm, You mentioned; "Performance is even better ( maybe due to yesterday's patch ? )" Which patch? I am still at Ver 11.00pb1 build 110007. Did I miss the bus??? Chuck
  4. Ok, understand. I wonder if one could put the Edit Flight Plan on a wish list if the scenario is even possible. Sometimes I will download flight-plan that I would like to modify/delete some way-points. From what I have seen is that some flight-plans that I download my x-plane FMC does not like and I would like to work with them to see where the trouble is. but to make it complete I guess I would have to work with the .VBF also....ah....never mind... Thanks for the reply, Chuck
  5. Dave, Working with the FPL window, Should the RED circle X (lower left of FPL window) work to delete a WPT from the FPL? No joy here with that when particular WPT window is highlighted. I also tried going to the far left of the highligted window in this case an Interesction icon and clicked on it, then the Way Point Options window comes up. That window does not show the title of the selected waypoint, it just says WPT. Selecting Center on Map works fine, as does Insert Before and Insert After. When I select Remove nothing happens except the FPL track line flashes once but nothing changes, i.e. removal of waypoint. Wpt up and down has also stopped working. All other functions, SID, STAR, APPR, etc. working well. Assistance appreciated, Thanks, Chuck
  6. If you mean Pilot2ATC, its already out and available. http://pilot2atc.com/ There is a forum page for it on this site. Its a great program, ATC comm via your headset and computer speech recognition in your computer, flight planning, maps, charts, voice training, comm radio control, surrounding airport ( 25 - 50 miles) frequency look-up, ICAO look-up for charts, ATC chatter ( user can change) etc. Great manual, and the support by Dave on AVSIM is superb, updates frequently. 10 day free trial. Chuck
  7. Dave, Got it, the check of "Export SID/STAR/Approach Waypoints" helped a lot, but like you said once it got to the procedure points the FMC (X-Plane 10) did NOT like that at all, it just kept going straight. So another lesson learned and I thank you for the information, will examine the flight plan and if I see Procedures I will make other arrangements. I did try out Chatter, your files, worked good and adds a lot. Thanks, Chuck
  8. I do not have any trouble loading/saving basic flight plans and exporting to a X-plane 10 FMC. A flight plan of little more complex nature is giving me trouble. I built up a route from my home airport, added some way-points and my final destination as back to home airport, KATW to KATW. It validated fine, and I then Filed and P2A asked if I would like a ILS approach and I responded, Yes. It built the route very nicely, complete with missed approach (red lines) and a procedure turn. I filed it with a cruise altitude and Plan GS and It all looked good in the MFD map. I saved the route as a .VFB file and exported it as a .FMS file for my FMC. I loaded the FMC and noticed that the latter half of the route was missing with the exception of Final Destination (KATW). I did this by using the NEXT button on the FMC. Examination of the saved .FMS files shows only the first few way-points and non of the latter way-points. Same thing with examination of the .VBF, that one is a little more intense but did not see the latter way-points. Not sure why the data is not being saved in its entirety to file types. Chuck
  9. Dave, Yep, Senior Moment, set it up and its working just fine. Thanks for the quick reply, Chuck
  10. Hi Dave, EDIT: I found it Dave, was looking at the wrong tab!! Now lets see if I can get it to work. (PTTButton does now appear in the AppConfig.xml) I am attempting to get my CH Eclipse yoke (X-Plane 10 Ver 10.51) button set for P2A PTT, not the SayIt, just straight P2A PTT. Upon reading other PTT posts, I took a look at my C:\users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\P2A200\Settings\AppConfig.xml. I see about 4 instances of SayIt items but nothing from regular PTT. I can successfully set the SayIt but I see no option within the P2A Config screen for PTT, nor does a JoystickPTTBtn line appear in the XML file. Should there be a PTT line in that XML or is there some other method to configure PTT? Thanks for any help, Chuck
  11. SSites22, When you have played around with X-plane ATC, you might also want to take a look at http://pilot2atc.com/. Its quite the program, payware with a 10 day free trial. There is a support page for it here on AVSIM, the author being very responsive to questions and updates are common. It provides voice interaction between you and computer generated ATC controllers to make your flying experience more realistic. An inexpensive headset/mic arrangement and your off and running. The speech recognition works fairly well, it does stumble for me from time to time, but probably more of my not speaking clearly. Do take the time to read the manual, its worth the trip.... Chuck
  12. uwespeed, I use pilot2ATC and find that it works very well. Like most software that does a lot it has a bit of a learining curve and sometimes it takes a bit of adjustment to get the voice recogniton right but once your set it works. The developer is very responsive to questions and suggestions. If you get the opportunity try the demo. There is a Pilot2ATC forum here on Avsim. Chuck
  13. Thanks for the explanation, Someone with more knowledge about WED than my limited scope is going to have to answer that one.
  14. Well sir, I sure do not know as I do not know what ags\agb is. Could you be a bit more precise???
  15. Jan, Good point on the d/l from the gateway, that's what I did and put it into a work folder separate from x-plane. Pointed WED to that folder and all the imports work better, no hunting around for those orphan airports. Chuck
  16. Got it Jan and thank you. Works just great, will print out the procedure and paste it to my forehead. Got airport errors to correct I made a few months ago so off to work I go. Regards, Chuck
  17. Jan, I must be dense in the head..... ....... I just cannot get this WED Gateway stuff to work. Getting the apt.dat or the dsf.dat into wed is fine, I make the changes I want, (signs in my case), use the shift-click like you said to get the dsf items up the hierarchy panel and then delete the major file heading so I don't get the hierarchy alert. I then select validate again, and now I get the "This airport is too big" alert. :( I rechecked the Apt & Dsf again and again, the numbers are all ok (KHWY apt of +30-80 and a dsf of +38-078.) In WED I zoomed way out and sure enough, another airport is making itself known as part of the data, thus the alert. How in the heck do I get rid of the other airport? This process is getting discouraging and am about to give up and take up magic tricks  ....hmmm maybe this is already magic, smoke and mirrors. Anyway thanks for any guidance and hope this is the last time I have to bother you. Chuck
  18. Hello Gregg, I to had a fair bit of trouble with speech recognition. My first solution was to change to a USB headset as my old headset was falling apart anyway. This seemed to help a bit, your Mileage May Vary. The 2nd thing I did was go to the Configuration and Maintenance area of P2ATC, the Voice Recognition tab, and change the Initial Silence Time out to 50% and the End Silence Timeout to 60%, as recommended by another user. That helped dramatically and works extremely well unless I say something stupid or don't have the right command. Usually its in a Readback Request. Chuck
  19. You can upload airports built by you under the lego system of LR, but you must register first. You can download any airports available without registering. See: http://developer.x-plane.com/?article=airport-scenery-gateway Chuck
  20. WED 1.3 is available for download at: http://developer.x-plane.com/tools/worldeditor/ The manual for WED 1.3 is available at: http://developer.x-plane.com/docs/scenery/worldeditor-wed-manual-v1-3/ Chuck
  21. Hi John, It sure does fix the problem and I like it. My Wisconsin/Minnesota lakes look much better along the shoreline now in my opinion. Numerous lakes around here have a "beach" that is a foot wide, trees right to the edge. Thanks for bringing the subject up and a big thanks to Jan for providing the file. Chuck
  22. I also imagine that those of us that added the numerous lakes within Wisconsin and Minnesota, to name a couple of areas, are guilty in some way. After clicking in the hundreds (thousands?) of nodes required to outline a lake we probably got sloppy. I will admit to going back and cleaning up some of those corners. I already wore out one mouse, the left click button. Of course one is free to go into it (OSM) and do an edit, but then ya still gotta wait for the next recut I guess eh? Chuck
  23. Hi Ron, I wonder if it reverted back to its function with your simulator? What sim are you running? I had to tell my sim (xplane) to do Nothing from that key and told P2ATC to use that numbered button from my yoke. Saitek here also but the proflight yoke system. Chuck
  24. Got it Dave, Ran a short 75 mile flight plan (KSTE-KATW), nothing fancy but I was able to totally complete it with all controllers, with an ILS approach, landing and taxi to gate with instructions. Those approach pins on the map sure helped to see what is coming up.Whew!!! Looks like the speech recognition is working quite well. I did not request anything special (rwy) but will get around to that. One request from Tower did come up that I did not see a required response listed in the frmGrammer box. That request was "Call when Established on ILS." I just answered with a "runway in sight response." Thanks again for the help, Chuck
  25. Thanks Dave, Will try to be more cognizant of my position and the requirements for proper comm. I think I had too much going on and really wanted that ILS approach. Also, I realized later on that on my approach to KATW that the controller told me that ILS was not available and I knew it was (in todays data), but in the static FSX data that I think you use it must not be, thus the reason for the frustration at that point. Looking forward to the ability to use the x-plane dynamic data in the future. EDIT: I just took a look at the P2ATC Database Maintenance section. I see that KATW rwy 3 has ILS, but the controller told me No ILS available. Now I am confused. Hi Richard, Yep, thanks for the Distance prod, sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees! Off to the P2ATC manual. Chuck
