Cheers Rick, Do you mean FS2Crew connected the GPU or you clicked the buttons yourself. From C&D i can get FS2Crew to open the FMC to the actions menu. But thats where it stops. It wont connect the GPU and goes to the ALTN NAV LEGS page. If there's no way round it then so be it. I'll just have to hit the button myself.Be nice for FS2Crew to do it though.

Rick, Fancy giving it a go with cold and dark and see if you find the same as me. Beginning to wonder if this has more to do with how PMDG have coded the FMC and power states rather than FS2Crew. After all Bryan has said FS2Crew only interacts with buttons of the FMC.

Bryan, That sounds like what is happening. But if i then ask for it to connect again it does. Which should not work if the FMC is un-powered. Is that right? Rick, Yeah i connect the buses. Have you tried from a cold dark state? Weird thing is with either APU running or GPU connected the ground requests work as they should no matter what you ask to be connected or disconnected. So to get it from C&D i Turn battery on. I touch nothing else. Not the FO FMC. Ask for GPU. It says its done but it isn't connected. FO FMC now displays the first menu with the two items bottom right. Think its PMDG and FS actions. Ask for GPU again Can hear buttons being activated. Says its connected but it isn't connected. FO FMC now is blank. Ask a third time for GPU and bingo it works! GPU connects. Weird!!!! Connect the busses and now it works everytime.

Hi Bryan, I finally got a chance to test the T7 today. I definately have a issue with the ground power option. When i start cold and dark i power the FO FMC by pressing and holding the menu button. When i ask for power it says its connected but it does not connect the gpu and the FO FMC returns to a blank state. You can hear buttons being pressed. If i ask again for the gpu to be connected it works. You can see the commands being pressed on the FO FMC. It then leaves the FO FMC on the ALTN NAV LEG page. If i then ask for gpu to be dis-connected it says its done but it doesnt work this time and the FO FMC goes back to a blank state. Ask again and this time it works. It appears that there is an error somewhere in the order of the buttons being pressed. It only seems to work if the FMC is in a blank state. What button is being pressed by FS2crew to return the FMC to a blank state?

Hard mute binding is a known issue. Should be fixed in 1.1 So Fs2crew can control the gpu. If it can disconnect it must be able to connect from the c&d state?

Psour33, Do not worry. No offence taken. I'm big and ugly enough to take few comments. Bryan, i'm a bit confused. If Fs2crew does not operate the gpu,air etc why are the voice commands available? Unfortunately i'm a cargo hauler most of the time so i use the c&d startup alot.

8. Due to SDK limits, FS2Crew cannot control the ground objects directly (GPU, chocks, etc). The only way FS2Crew can control these objects is by pressing buttons on the FO's FMC. Therefore, in order for FS2Crew to control the position of the ground objects, the FO's FMC must be powered! So what i'm asking is if i power up the batteries and press and hold menu on the FO FMC will i then be able to ask ground to connect the GPU? This is after i RTFM.

I'm sorry i thought Fs2crew could call for the GPU. Maybe I misread the Fs2crew manual when i RTF thing.

What is the procedure from cold and dark to get external power to the aircraft? It mentions the the FO FMC needs to be powered. Does this mean switching on battery and then pressing and holding the menu button on the FMC? I called ground and they told me external power was connected but no connections were made.

Bryan, Well done on another excellent addon for our hobby. Just a couple of issues 1 When i activate Fs2crew the menu bar always appears about 2/3 of the way up the screen. Can i set it to always open on the top left of my display? 2. For some reason the hard mute is not activating when i map it to one of my buttons on my TM Warthog. I assign a key combo in fsx to the alternate static which i then map via fsuipc. When i hit the button the HM on the Fs2crew menu does not light up. Mute in yellow lights up but then disappears almost like a soft mute.If i hit the HM button on the menu bar it works ok. The key command i use is CTRL shift and L. I notice there is an option to set CTRL for the soft key. I have set this to no. Regards Darren

Cheers Steve, When I'm typing into the FMC it's pretty much instantaneous. Its when I haven't used it for a while. When I then press a key there is a slight delay. Maybe more than a split second. You know I don't recall it being as bad with the previous version of the software. Unfortunately I don't have the older version to test it with and I'm not sure it works with sp1c anyway. Nicolas, That's what I'm thinking. Its a cheap ebay £60 tablet so I don't expect great performance. Its not a big issue just wondered if anyone else noticed it. Darren

Guys Does anyone have a slight delay when pressing buttons and the fmc responding. I think it's prob due to my cheap tablet. Its only a matter of a spilt second but it is noticeable especially if the fmc hasn't been used for a few minutes. Darren

He might mean the weather popping in and out of fsx due to the 777 updating it's weather file every few minutes. I read somewhere that HIFI would be looking into the issue and maybe releasing a fix.

Err no your not lucky. This aircraft is simply one the best in it's field. And I normally cringe at some of Kyle's replies but you know what. He's spot on.

My £67 tablet from Ebay has arrived. It's awesome for this app. Not the best tablet going but for the price I now have a functioning FMC for £80. Bargain!

The 737 has a trial version which I believe is available on both Apple and Android. Search and you will find the app. It works at a few airports in South America from what I recall. I have just purchased the 777 version and decided to get one of the cheap 10" tablets to run it on. Very impressed with the performance etc and a working FMC for my home cockpit for £80. I'll update with my findings of the cheap tablet when it arrives.

Hi Dougal, If cash is tight try looking at Simbrief.com. Its free!!! and works very well. Produces a flight plan which you can export as a PDF for printing etc. Like Richard I also use EFB which is great for adding sid,stars and approaches to a flight plan and then tracking your flight. It's payware but worth it in my opinion. Using both works very well.

Hi Dennis, Don't think your alone. There are a few threads on this. I too found my performance slightly lower that before. Its minimal but whereas I used to have a steady 30 fps I now find both the 200 and 300 give low 20's. Some are reporting performance increase and in my exp this would normally show its a setup or setting issue. It's just finding which setting. There is also mention that a full reinstall may help. I'd be happy to pay $5 to get the full installer but maybe PMDG should allow free download if this does fix the problem. I was wondering did you tinker with the FMC options prior to testing. I think I might have jumped straight in and changed some settings which might make a difference. If your one of the lucky ones with performance increase did you change any settings in the FMC or is it default settings? As usual with this hobby more investigation needed. Been doing this for many years. All part of the fun I guess. To PMDG as already stated the new features are just awesome. That ding dong in the datalink always gives me a little grin.

Had the same problem with the radar. No returns at LHR with the storms clearly visible. Reinstalled FSUIPC and then deleted the ini. Restarted FSX. Reset my controls in FSUIPC. Then I ran the Xgauge Wizard from within ASN. As I run ASN across a network I thought maybe the radar gauge wasn't installed in the 777 correctly. Well it worked. Started up at LHR and bingo radar returns.
