  1. Hello,Just open a ticket here - http://membership.vatsim.net/user/index.php?x=&mod_id=4They should get you sorted and reactivate your account.Jack
  2. Hi Damian,Just a quick query about what the snapshots include. With regard to REX within the 'theme creation' page, you can change:the sky theme water/tropical water wave animation runways / taxiways airport environment the sun / lighting (lens flare, lightning, landing lights, aircraft strobe and runway lights) If possible could you please specify specifically which of the above variables are saved in an ASE Snapshot, as "environment textures only" could be interpreted in different ways. Thanks,Jack
  3. With a config as recommended by NickN and with an external FPS limited locking at 25 fps it runs silky smooth with any addon that I've tried. Also, with the limiter the frames struggle to fall below 25.Jack
  4. Jim, Your huge post count shows just how much you've put into the community especially on the Hifi forums. I do hope you leave yourself at least some time for flight simming. Best of luck with whatever you're doing. Jack
  5. This website's my favourite for this sort of thing. - http://www.awfulweather.org/Uses the METARs, and you can specify to filter below a certain visibility, cloud ceiling, etc. Also you can choose between countries and continents.Jack
  6. Hello,The Aivlasoft EFB sounds like the perfect piece of kit for yourself. - http://www.aivlasoft.com/Their ideology of the software is that it removes the need for having as you've said, some quite confusing charts. It may seem quite costly, but it's certainly worth a go, especially as there is a free 30 day trial. You should definitely fly with the SIDs and STARs, as it makes your IFR flying much more realistic and if you fly on an online network (such as VATSIM) then it is a requirement to fly them.Happy flying!Jack
  7. Michael,If you wish to continue using Vroute then are you aware that you can simply enter what are known as "private routes" into vroute? When on the add route page, there is a drop down menu and you can change this to add your route as a private route. This will then bypass much of the validation procedure (removing the error messages) and you will then be able to export the flightplan as usual in the formats you require.Hope this helps,Jack
  8. Hi Julian,Nice to see I got something right for once :)On another note after using your weather setup for quite a few months, for me it has turned out perfectly. No shifts, great depiction, even seemingly good when using ASE in Smooth Cloud Transitions for my occasional VFR and GA flights. So thanks for making my weather setup perfect!Much appreciated,Jack
  9. Hello,From my understanding when you use any external weather software it overrides the downloading and showing of the standard FSX weather. But the Rate of Change settings in FSX do affect outcome. I know that there are also settings for Dynamic Rate of Change in ASE, but despite this I believe that the FSX settings also affect the depiction. Within the FSX UI settings under Weather, I believe that the "DynamicWeather" coding in the CFG is listed as "Rate at which weather changes over time" in the UI. And a setting of 2 would set this to medium. So overall, from what I understand all the settings (in the FSX file) do effect the end outcome, except for the FSX weather download settings, which are overridden by ASE.Hope this helps (It might be best to get this all clarified by someone with more knowledge though )Jack
  10. Hi Jim,Just flying down there now, and went to look for the weather information in ASE, and it's still not listed! - Over 10 months since the initial request Can this not be fixed? Thanks,Jack
  11. Hello,Today Pete Dowson has released a new update for FSUIPC, which he does do quite regularly. I am not sure whether this will have any effect on weather depiction, but most updates to FSUIPC seem to have improvements rather than making situations worse. I have been using 4.661 (up until today) as recommended by Julian in an earlier post which removed the problem of not having correct destination winds. I will be flying using 4.663, the latest version tonight, and will keep checking this board: http://forum.simflig...pdated-modules/ regularly to check for updates.Hope this helps,Jack
  12. Just looking now and it appears that after loading a preset (the Hurricane Blast in this case) it has updated the Textual Conditions, but not the Graphical Conditions as below:I have tried this with various airports with still the same result. I have also changed the ICAO ID in the selected station and then back again, just in case it needed to update the Graphical Conditions; but this doesn't seem to help. - Just for your information, Automatic Downloads is unticked, when I use the Wx Config. Thanks,Jack
  13. Hello,I seem to have this same problem with B642. I seem to remember that in an older version of ASE, that once the METAR string was edited and you pressed the "Parse METAR" button, then this updated the infomation plotted above on the Wx Config page. I was flying with real world weather for some VFR this evening, and the conditions were deteriorating to IMC, so I decided to load the "Fair Weather" preset. I changed the airport (in the METAR string) to my current closest, set range to "Global" pressed parse, then apply, and no update above or nothing changing in the FSX weather.I seem to be a little confused as I am almost sure that in an older version once changing the METAR the change always appeared above and was pretty much instant. Thanks,Jack
  14. Just flown from SAEZ->SBGR (São Paulo) and on approach and landing the depiction was perfect. Unlike Stephan I was not having problems with en-route weather. So it seems, for me that the latest version of FSUIPC has solved it. Thanks once again Julian!Jack
  15. Yes, I have been recently using the 4.648 beta, but have also tried reverting to the present interim version, 4.638. Neither seem to affect this problem.
  16. Hello, A couple of times recently I have been experiencing similar problems to Pedro. The other night, for example flying into LTBS (Dalaman, Turkey) on final after a flight from Kiev I was getting winds 142 degrees 12kt as compared to the METAR and ASE reporting 350 degrees 18kt. This has been happening a lot recently with a similar situation into Heathrow and also Gatwick a few days ago. I have also tried pressing refresh early on in the approach and then unticking wind smoothing in FSUIPC incase it needs to quickly change. I fly using DWC and with Destination Wx ticked. - I also always import my flightplan into ASE with the correct flight levels, etc. My FSUIPC settings are as below: FixMachSpeedBug=NoVisibilityOptions=NoOneCloudLayer=NoCloudTurbulence=NoCloudIcing=NoGenerateCirrus=NoSuppressCloudTurbulence=NoMaxIce=3MinIce=-4UpperWindGusts=NoSuppressWindTurbulence=YESSuppressWindVariance=YesWindTurbulence=NoTurbulenceRate=1.0,5.0TurbulenceDivisor=20,20,40,40SuppressAllGusts=YesMaxSurfaceWind=0WindLimitLevel=200WindDiscardLevel=400WindAjustAltitude=NoWindAjustAltitudeBy=2000SmoothBySimTime=NoWindSmoothing=YesWindSmoothness=-4WindSmoothAirborneOnly=YesPressureSmoothness=8TemperatureSmoothness=25 This is getting quite annoying and can really ruin a nearly flawless flight.Hopefully this can be solved. Thanks, Jack
  17. Hello,Just been flying with ASE and noticed that I could not get any weather for the any airports or stations for any report time after 1700z, this was at 2030z. I am still flying, and I tried to tick the "VATSIM Online Weather" checkbox, and suddenly got up to date 2000z weather. I once again tried it without the VATSIM weather ticked, and out of date weather appeared once again.I presume that Hi-Fi are experiencing server issues? Thanks,Jack
  18. Hi Julian,Just flown BA851 (EPWA->EGLL) with the new FSUIPC in the Level D 767, and the weather depiction seemed to be pretty excellent!I will keep you updated, thanks for the link by the way. Thanks,Jack
  19. Hi Julian,I have downloaded this, (and of course backed up the old file). Can you confirm in terms of weather, that the settings should be kept the same the as previously discussed?- Just for your reference all my flying is completed online on Vatsim, so I don't use Radar ContactThanks,Jack
  20. I will continue to fly some more test flights, and if this result surprises you then I will fly the MD11 again with turbulance unticked. When I experienced what I though was S turns I quickly ticked the turbulance box and this seemed to stop the problem. I may however, have been mistaken this for some quite heavy turbulance. Next time I will continue with it unticked for a while and analyse the movements more closely. Only when I am certain that they are S turns will I tick Suppress Turbulance and see the difference which it makes.Just for your reference I always load my flightplans into ASE unless I am flying a short VFR hop/circuits, etc. - Generally my flightplans are exported from vroute in the FSX format and loaded into ASE.Thanks,Jack
  21. Hi Julian,I have now flown some test flights with the PMDG 744, Level-D 763 and the PMDG MD11. The flight with the 747 was flown with all three ticked (gusts, turbulence and variance). - This flight seemed perfect, with no wind shifts or S turns. - All good here. The flight with the 767 was flown with just gusts and variance ticked, and there were no problems here either. Tonight I flew with the MD11 from ENTC (Tromsø, Northern Norway) to BIAR (Akureyri, Northern Iceland) and approximately half way through I had the dreaded S turns. Initially this was flown as you had recommended (with just gusts and variance ticked), but after the S turns I quickly ticked the turbulence tick-box, and there was an instant irradiation of the S turns. I have not yet tried any flights in light GA airframes, but I think with whichever settings (within reason) that I use for this, I would doubt that there would be a problem. I will however, update you one a test on this has also been flown, and continue to update you on other aircraft should I notice any irregularities. Thanks,Jack
  22. Hi Julian,A couple of hours ago I completed BA0219, EGLL->KDEN in the 744 (over 9 hour flight time) and the result in terms of weather was excellent. Using all of the settings which you have recommended for ASE, FSX and FSUIPC gave a result of no wind shift problems and the removal of the beyond annoying 'S' turns. The weather and aloft wind depiction was very accurate, so this all seemed perfect.Hopefully tomorrow I will do some testing in some other aircraft and see which settings appear to work best for those.I'd like to thank you very much for your help so far, as it has resulted (in this first test) as wished. Thanks!Jack
  23. Hi Julian,I am now back in England, sitting at my PC for FS and changing my settings to your recommended one.- Just to clarify, the text which I have quoted, in simple terms does it just mean that when flying MD11, Level-D 767 or when flying light VFR/GA flights fly with gusts, turbulence and variance switched off? And only use them on when flying the PMDG 747?Thanks,Jack
  24. Hi Julian,Thanks for your new config. - It's much appreaciatedI understand that this will almost certainly prevent the S turns, but will this be seeping away from realism? Also do you think that this may affect the realism of the winds when flying light GA?Happy New Year! Thanks,Jack
