  1. I get the same flashing when panning. I didn't have the problem with my 8800GTS, so GPU speed is not my problem. The only scenery I have installed is UTX and GEX, and running UT2. I have done no performance .cfg tweaks. I might try older drivers, haven't done that yet.
  2. It's not just the heading bug. I think all rotating switches are painfully slow especially with the mouse wheel. The radios, altimeter setting, ADI knobs, pitch command, cabin pressure, etc. S l o w w w w . It take about 3 clicks of the wheel to move from 118.20 to 118.25
  3. Some say it's a good idea not to until you are well on your way to satisfactory performance and image quality. Good looking wing, nice looking cloud, nice looking island. That's a start lol.
  4. With the default C172 saved cold and dark, what is recommended to have ON besides the avionics for the best results when loading addon aircraft ? I've noticed the saved position of the fuel mixture affects the fuel cuttoff / idle levers of jets and turboprops when they are loaded.
  5. I prefer the no-cabin model for better framerates. It was a great idea for CS to make the cabin optional. I say well done CS! I actually do get good FPS even with the cabin, a pleasant surprise indeed, but I like having plenty of "reserve perfromance" (lol) for bad weather, large airports, etc. The "Step II" forum was placed in read-only mode today and an anouncement made that version 1.0 is "almost there". Great news. They must really be working overtime at CS.
  6. Fullscreen mode only. I'm already giving up enough vertical view with a widescreen display.
  7. ^^ Great post, and it makes perfect sense. But the other 99.9999% buttons and switches don't require both right and left clicks. Who's talking about how aircraft work? Anyone? We're just talking about mouse clicks, friend. Just the mouse clicks.
  8. This trend of fancy schmancy mouse clicks for switches, dials, views, etc etc etc. Right click to rotate right. Left click to rotate left. Right click to open fully. Left click to open partially. Right click to open cap, Left click to close (Why???!!!!) Right click Left click Right Lfet Rtdg cRlik.............. Problem 1 .... developers all do it differently. Problem 1.5 ... it's often not even consistant on the same aircraft, let alone trying to keep up with the inventive clickies of each addon I fly. Problem 2 ... right clicking also opens the window dialog box, so every time you Right click where there happens to be no Right click option that damned window pops up ........ again ......... asking me what I want to do with window options. The answer each time is of course "nothing. go. away." It's madness. And it is actually far, far more irritating than I find myself able to articulate or detail here. There was once, not so long ago, a perfectly fine, universal system of Left clicking and mouse wheeling up/down. Click left side - thingy moves left Click right side - thingy moves right Click one side of cap - cap opens Click other side - cap closes Click outer area - big numbers change Click inner area - small numbers change I LOVE that ^^^ Simple. Logical. Click areas are many times less frustrating than the guesswork involved with the inconsistancies of clickology, clickomatics, clickapalooza, and the irritating little surprises when guessing wrong.
  9. I would tinker with each of the settings and options before uninstalling it. Might just be one particular area that isn't playing nice with your setup.
  10. Any addon terrain/land class etc? Looks great.
  11. I see then now! Tiny little buggers. Cheers Al
  12. I do miss having the framerate locked and steady at 60 with 100% ultimate traffic and the iFly 737. Also can't remember the last time FS9 crashed on me. No flashing textures or tearing. The only thing I would say I hate is the pulsating water. I'm close, so close to making FSX my GA sim and going back to FS9 for airliners. It's difficult because the FSX addons are amazing. One more CTD or single digit framerate moment should do it.
  13. The Wilco pilot's guide shows the old location from the PIC version.
  14. Jeff are you checking the box for the livery you are loading into FS?
  15. I'm happy I bought the 737 Evo. I would own the NGX as well but just don't care for the glass cockpit, HGS, or the $100 price since the only one I really want is the 700. The Evo's ultra-clean, plastic looking liveries give the impression that the models are substandard, however I installed a beautiful 3rd party Southwest repaint which shows how great the aircraft models actually look. I haven't seen the paint kit but maybe it just needs better shading, more detail, and weathered layers. My only real complaint is the hard colors they chose to use for red, black and white switches, knobs, and the yokes giving them a cartoonish appearance. This really ought to have been rectified already. I'd do it myself if I had a paint program. (hint hint)
  16. When I started using inspector I was having the same no-AA issues and it's because I didn't have Antialiasing Flags set to "none". Also wouldn't hurt to have current drivers.
  17. Thanks Zach! I can't imagine any developer letting that go on. I'll probably buy this if they get that fixed. I was pleasantly surprised to see it looks MUCH better than in videos and screenshots.
  18. I'm getting the simulated head bobble from bumps and such, but is it also possible to get the same type of head latency that FSX originally shipped with? I miss that especially on takeoff where you can see that you are being pushed back in the seat.
  19. Installed the Just Flight 737 Pro demo, when I change to windowed mode, or if I'm already in windowed mode and maximze it, I get the FSX stopped working crash. Already contacted support but that could be a 2 day wait. Just thought I'd check if anyone else has run into this and knows the fix. Somebody hep meh!!
  20. I would also not do any overclocking while troubleshooting.
  21. Thanks! I completely forgot about the airport lighting enhancements in REX. I do have REX but currently uninstalled (recently formatted my FSX drive and started from scratch).
