What I said was that it does NOT increase in the end. It goes down and up during flight and sometimes I have more free VAS on approach then on after dep. That is not an overall increase of used VAS. I have not upgrade to Win7 yet, first is that I need new hardware for it. My core2 is to slow even though it can run a 64 bit system. Second it that I see a lots of post of very crazy errors/problems on Win7 and FSX. In one post someone said that after upgrading from WinXP to Win7 he started to have lots of crazy errors that he never had during several years with FSX on WinXP. Win8 is just junk, forget it. Have several friends that works as developers since 25 + years and all have tested Win8 and dumped it. It is just crap. Until all present software is ported to it. The main reason is an old statement in software business, "If it works OK. Do not touch it. Why change something that works?" I follow that. I have no problem at all with OOMs and VAS. I will do a flight across whole Europe (one single go) to Asia somewhere with the T7 just to see if the free VAS goes down in overall. Some people say that on long flights used mem is added up and in the end (after several hours) you get an OOM. I really would like to test that. I would like to document what happens..... Does anyone know about any good screen capture software, making movies??

FYI I have seen many times the VAS go up /increase after departure and then going down and up several times during the flight. So on my system it looks like FSX is releasing memory. Sometimes I have more VAS on approach then I had on departure. I am on WinXP 32-bit Professonal. Maybe the way FSX is coded works better on old 32-bit systems.
  3. FYI Did some research and found the OC log file. All my PMDG aircrafts are missing in the registrys Uninstall info: PMDG 737NGX - Checking product version 01:58:23.546 Checking key: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{20708FD5-E94D-4097-A21E-E28564CDBC06} 01:58:23.546 Error opening key: 2 And close to the end: 01:58:31.250 Product Installed: 0 Same error for the others 2, 777 and J41. So no wonder that OC wanted me to buy them. No way to fix this by 'hacking' so I just have to re-install all again. But I did find the GUID {20708FD5-E94D-4097-A21E-E28564CDBC06} in another part of the reg, not Uninstall. I did get some problems with the Add/Remove programs in Control Panel a couple of weeks ago about another very important program, OpusFSI. So it seems like my reg is screwed up in the Uninstall part. Time to check some other very important programs. Never ever happen during my 14 years with WinXP, smells very much like a virus. Will check my Images I have of the C drive if someone is not too old. Most easy way to fix it.
  4. Hi My OC have stopped working. I does startup but.... After I have selected eg. the 777 no nice menus with icons is shown on the left side. Only a simple tree with plus '+' signs that you can open, like file explorer. And only 3 three subtrees. Strange it did work a couple of weeks ago. I have run the OpsCenterUpdater but no change. Also run the FSX_Reg_Fixer. No changes. Someone else seen this?? Is there a separate installer somewhere for the OpsCenter?? Would like to re-install if possible. I am a programmer/developer so if someone knows how to 'hack' the thing so it works again I want to know how it's done. TIA /Per W Sweden
  5. FYI Never ever lost the yoke or pedals on my WinXP 32. Saitek ProFlight Yoke and Saitek rudder pedals. Always working and are stable.
  6. Try trimming with the num keys directly on the keyboard instead of going through FSUIPC. That way you can test if FSUIPC play any dirty tricks with you
  7. Yoke deadzone is zero and I have not changed the default CDU deadzone from PMDG Dont know the exact number. -Per
  8. Already done that! Works OK My yoke is a Saitek Pro Flight Yoke System and Saitek rudders. Config is in FSX standard way, not through FSUIPC. Programmed the left thumb button to trim sending standard keys Num1 and Num7 -Per
  9. I can trim down at the same time as I have the yoke pushed down. Always handfly up to 250 knots during takeoff. No problems at all. I even sometimes trims "ahead" without any problems, does not need to go to neutral for it to work. Pushing yoke and trim down at the same time, no problem. Same the other way on landings, pull to control descend and trim up at the same time. Does not understand the problem at all. But pulling and trim down(forward) at the same time does not work, described in the manuals that there is a security thing so that the pilot can stop a unwanted trim by moving the yoke in the opposite direction in case the button get stuck. And why do you want to move yoke in one direction and trim the other way!? Sounds crazy. Like pushing on the brakes and throttle at the same time in a car. /Per
  10. I have no problem with severe pitching when changing the trim!? I even sometimes trim ahead during acceleration after takeoff, no strange pitch up or down. I tried a couple of times to handfly up to 10 000 without any problem. Smooth as silk and only small changes with the yoke was needed. So this whole thread is something I have never seen. /Per W
  11. Have you tried this? Worked for me on my old WinXP 32 Core2 Quad. I too had random freezes until I did this. Change SOUND_QUALITY=2 to SOUND_QUALITY=1. [sOUND] //0=Low (sounds terrible), 1=Med, and 2=High quality sound in the cfg file SOUND_QUALITY=1 And still works OK. Done several flights and no more hanging/freez. Also have the 300 that runs perfect. No crazy behaviour at all after SP1b. Even flights that takes several hours it just runs fine. /Per
  12. Hi, I tried to install the 22k internal sounds but it have stuck half way through. First OC download then backing up. But after that it looks like they never made it to the sound folder. Every time I start OC it checks the sound files and marks the Stock as the ones installed. So I click the 22k button and it starts to work but after the check the Stock sound is still marked. Done the above several times without luck. Where are the files located after download? It should be possible to switch between the two sets so where are they when they are not in the sound folder? Nothing about sound in C:\Documents and Settings\Per\Application Data\PMDG\PMDG Operations Center and I can not find any PMDG folder somewhere else except the one in FSX home dir and no sound files there either. I am on WinXP 32. If I can get the 22k files from somewhere else I can replace them myself. Or can I reset OC so I have a chance to download them again, a new try?? I would like to have a little bit more VAS even that it is not any problem to me. I also only have 2 desktop speakers so I would like to test some lowres sound to see if it is ok for me. Rgds, /Per W Sweden
  13. If you want to fine tune autogen add these tweaks. Setting it in fsx->settings to spars and you still have very much of them. I found somewhere long time ago someone that claimed that fsx-settings->autogen slider only affected buildings. Trees is still very high. Does not know if that is true. [TERRAIN] TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=800 TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CELL=800 I think 1 Cell is around 1 square kilometer. Set whatever you like, you do not see any autogens high up. I use two different fsx.cfg, one for small airplanes and one for airliners like the PMDGs.
  14. I use 256 clouds, sounds crazy but they look a lot more real in my taste. I always reduce liveries down to 1024, you are anyway most of the time in the cockpit. Two of more things I have done to save VAS. I use FSUIPCs VAS monitor. With old FSX you have to choose between a HiFi airplane like PMDGs or hifi scenery. You can't have both.
  15. Try these tweaks if you want to fine tune autogen: I use these settings for my 737NGX and the T7. [TERRAIN] TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=800 TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CELL=800 If I'm not wrong a cell is 1 sq kilometer. Even if you set it to sparse you have a lot of Autogens. I also have set SOUND_QUALITY=1 under [sOUND]. This fixed my problems with VAS and the famous T7 freezing.
  16. Done this several times in the same flight without any kind of problems at all
  17. I have done like you and....... the first thing I always do with new aircrafts or new liveries is to reduce the liverie to 1024, you do not need any bigger unless for photos. Still looks ok. Clouds is down to 256 !! must say that they look more real now, 2048 and up looks just to crisp and sharp and eats VAS. Unless you have a real cockpit with a big screen running on very high res. Then maybe and if you have the power to it. I too run the low VC , no big difference. With 737NGX I can run the High res version. I use the /3GB switch in boot.ini /3GB /Userva=2300 this gives me around 300 Mb more VAS. If I skip the /Userva the graphics go crazy on the desktop. To little for the 1Gb card, with a 512 it would work. FSX almost never use more the 400+ Mb on the Graphic card. Check with the GPU-Z tool. /Userva is a limiter, so it does not take 3Gb, instead it only takes 2,3 Gb. With that setting most of the time I have around 7-800 free VAS with T7. FSX was made and tested on WinXP 32 so why should it not run perfect on that OS !?
  18. I have had winds like that up to 130 with OpusFSX and CAT now and then. Opus have had CAT now for a while.
  19. Just a simple question, Yes or No. If Yes maybe a short list of hardware and settings in general. No long details . After the silly little tweak, setting sound quality to 1 FSX have never been this smooth like it is now. T7 flyes like a real queen now. Smooth and nice to hand fly. Even could raise the scenery settings a lot to levels that was impossible before. Airports full of AIs too. So I just wonder if there are more out there with FSX on WinXP 32 that just runs fine with the T7?? Here is a post from Kevin who have been on WinXP 32 and now after upgrade to Win7 he started to have freezes with the T7. Post 34 http://forum.avsim.net/topic/441586-i-have-the-momentary-freezes-but-not-with-with-ngx/page-2#entry2986506
  20. OK the Inn have already been done, I will do it anyway. But I will have a look at Queenstown, NZ (NZQN). And VQPR Bhutan, there is a video from a real world landing there on youtube, looked a little crazy. Manual whole way with a sharp left turn seconds before TD. They had just a A319, wonder if it is possible with the T7 at all. Otherwise it will be a party for the mounting goats with a lots of food
  21. I was thinking of the tutorial flight for 737NGX with the 180 turn before final. Is that the CTL 08 ?? Full load please, at least 200 metric ton ZFW and normal fuel on landings. challenge should be a challange, but I think I must do a couple of practise runs first before recording. What free video capture is best. tried GameCam once but without success.
  22. To my knowledge everything that FSX should run is placed somewhere under the <fsxhome> dir. Nothing outside what I know of.
  23. I sure will. Must be possible, first thing I do is :suede-flag: Ello ello sweden calling Do you think I need some anchors to throw out on TD. Or why not a parachute like NASAs space shuttle.
  24. Look a bit up on my post #14. Should read PMDG_777X.dll
