  1. Hi I found this file in <fsxhome>\PMDG\PMDG 737NGX\ and found some errors about sound files missing: (there are no such files in that dir, also checked an old backup of FSX I there are none there) Top of file: 01 02 Can't access WAV file: 0 (Sound\PMDG/737NGX/Various/PMDG_737_StarterTruck.wav) Can't access WAV file: 0 (Sound\PMDG/737NGX/Various/PMDG_737_AirTruck.wav) In the end: Can't access WAV file: 0 (Sound\PMDG/737NGX/Various/PMDG_737_EngineShutdown2.wav) Can't access WAV file: 0 (Sound\PMDG/737NGX/Various/PMDG_737_EngineShutdown2_Ext.wav) Can't access WAV file: 0 (Sound\PMDG/737NGX/Various/PMDG_737_EngineShutdown1.wav) Can't access WAV file: 0 (Sound\PMDG/737NGX/Various/PMDG_737_EngineShutdown1_Ext.wav) No big deal, the NGX works perfect anyway. But I wonder why the files are not around. In the 777 there are shutdown sound files.
  2. FYI I have no problems at all with 777 and 737ngx. I just exit FSX, not End Flight first. Doing that it just exits without any msg. Win7 64 bit professional and FSX:SE. Exit that way also worked OK in box FSX
  3. In the GSX manual the section about re-fueling is re-written and have an example on how to do it with PMDG 777. It is only a visual thing. I am just about to test it with the NGX737 to see what happens. Set fuel in the FMC as usual and then call for refueling.
  4. I have a SDK dir in FSX:SE !! It is filled with things. If you have the FSX box you can always install the SDK from that. I also use ADE to fix airports so without SDK it would not work
  5. I got the FSX:SE and that was a big upgrade from FSX box. Slightly faster, better FPS. Mem handling is a lot better, it is releasing mem=VAS increase when taking off from Mega airports. Could also increase some settings and still have same FPS, around 30 whole time. They have recompiled FSX with new librarys so it works better in Win7 and up. Old FSX box was compiled with old Win95-98 librarys. They also fixed the mem eating problem by re-writing some of the mem handling. Have shipped out several new versions and it did get better for each one. HIGHMEMFIX is obsolete. Forget AffinityMask, it only create troubles for FSX:SE. I deleted it and it ran a lot better and smoother. Maybe you need WideViewAspect, I have it. Not sure if it does anything. So start FSX:SE without any fsx.cfg so it will create a brand new one. And add one tweak at the time, if you have to. But try to stay away of tweaks. I did get FSX:SE for only 7Euro !? Yes, one of the discounts steam sometimes have. All addons I had for FSX box work without any problem. Have not seen any OOM yet. Completely gone.
  6. Do not user Google Chrome, known to trash downloads. Done that several times for me. I use only Firefox now. No problems at all.
  7. Check dll.cfg that this entry is there <Launch.Addon> <Name>PMDG HUD interface</Name> <Disabled>True</Disabled> <Path>PMDG\DLLs\PMDG_HUD_interface.dll</Path> <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName> <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName> </Launch.Addon> If it is there check that it is not disabled like: <Disabled>True</Disabled> set to False <Disabled>False</Disabled> now it should work The path is relative to FSX install dir.
  8. I have tested this too and.....(did not know about this feature, always turned both in the past) Leaving A/T on and joystick throttle down to idle and set the app speed on MCP. Leaving AP on. The only thing I switched off was the steering, keys can be set in FMC key setup. Simulates the button on flight yoke in a real 737, have to press 2 times. First is off next silence alarm. During flare the the engines was reduced to idle by AP seconds before I heard the 20 call. And after a while on the runway A/T was switched off. So to me it seems like it is working as it should. Using FSX on Win7 Professional 64-bit
  9. Very cool wonder where to find the model kit and to what price. Must have been totally home made from scratch. Like a wife said to a newspaper here in Sweden in an article about a RC event with very big planes: "Men never grow up only the price tag of their toys goes up every year."
  10. OK maybe so but I do not have any crazy/silly movements after that, had that before. I also use OpusFSIs cameras and they feel OK, no silly movements. But if setting it all to zeros does not help to 100% then there is nothing more to do about it. Anyway, better then nothing.
  11. Hi I did this in fsx.cfg and it do think it works, if you remove them I can almost be sure that it will use some default hardcoded values: Try it, set all to 0 (zero) [DynamicHeadMovement] LonAccelOnHeadLon=-0.000000 LonAccelOnHeadPitch=-0.000000 RollAccelOnHeadLat=0.000000 YawAccelOnHeadLat=-0.000000 RollAccelOnHeadRoll=0.000000 MaxHeadAngle=0.000000 MaxHeadOffset=0.000000 HeadMoveTimeConstant=0.000000 /Per W Sweden
  12. I always fly in Window mode to have access to other things during flight. And I always exit FSX by using the X at top right. If I End fligt first and then exit FSX it crashes. If I exit FSX direct no crash.
  13. If you go for MyTraffic 6 and all AI lights works including landing lights. Can you please post it here so we all know. I prefer MyTraffic and would like to know if upgrading to ver 6 fix this landing light problem. Otherwise UT2 is OK, a little heavy on the system but it have a nice feature I like a lot. A menu button that says "Clear the approach", very useful sometimes. Have had UT2 since it came but it was a little heavy on my system at that time, WinXP 32 and Core2 Quad. So I got MyTraffic instead that is a lot lighter on the system. So far UT2 works good. I have more power now so we'll see.
  14. Simple fix. I uninstalled MyTraffic and installed UT2 instead. On top I added Shockwave lights and now all AI lights works. Simple
  15. Hi I have just installed the Fixer and it looks great. But..... My AIs does not have visible landing spotlights. Nothing. The other lights seems to work on AIs. MyTraffic 5.4c. Anyone know what is wrong? I have googled a lot and also searched this forum and can not find any clue on what might be the problem. Can it be the spotlight.bmp, I have found a couple of them with different date. In DX9 it all AI lights worked as they should. FSX Accel I5 intel 3.8 Ghz, 8 Mb mem Nvidia GTX 960 2Gb mem, driver 347.88 Win 7 professional I am a programmer/developer since 30+ years and I know FSXs dir structure and what is in there. TIA /Per W Sweden
  16. Hi Can someone explain what that dll is used for? I am a programmer and Interfaces is nothing new to me. A interface is something that makes you communicate with something hardware/software or whatever. Eg. In Object Oriented programming (C# or C++) there are Interfaces to classes. But what are the PMDG_Interface.dll used for? If I disable it the T7 seems like it is still working as it should or do I miss something? Is it for some addon hardware....or? I do not use the weather radar. Do not like ASN have it but it have silly clouds and weather an hour old. Prefer Opus. I always try to have clean .cfg files, remove/disable things that I do not need for the flight. TIA Per Welander Sweden
  17. I have had this problem a couple of times. I turned out that I had the graphic settings was to high. When I lowered them lights came back. PMDGs aircrafts takes a little bit more power then the other simpler ones. I had it on a landing in the middle of the night (forgot where), no landing lights on RW and no taxi light too. So at the the taxi way I stopped and reduced some graphics and lights came back. Try reducing some graphic settings to test if it is that. Nothing to do with VAS it looks like FSX skips some things when it need resources to what I do not know. /Per W Sweden
  18. 1 and a half year ago I had this crap on my computer. Have they not yet been able to create something that can fly? As a programmer myself I suspect it is the tons of XML code that kills it. Why? I saw a post on FB about someone from Balckbox that was very tired after typing more then 100 000 lines of XML code. Complete madness XML is very slow and you must have at least 19-20 FPS whole time or the aircraft will go crazy. Aerosofts AB have some XML code but far from 100 000 lines of code. But it goes a little crazy if the FPS drops down to 15-16 for a long time. XML is for only small routines like adjusting radio or ADF and so on. Not writing whole systems. PMDG is doing everything in C++ and that is the way to go if you creating advanced simulations like they do. So the problem for Blackbox is that they are in to something that looks like Mission Impossible. Fligtsimlabs are also doing it the right way, I am waiting for their Airbus to be released. They a least talks about the different systems in a Airbus they are simulating on the Forum. Not like Balckbox that only tries to show off new cool painting and perfect finish on this and that, nothing about the systems in the bus. Why have they not yet done anything that is working. Last I remember from this Airbus crap is that the default MS airbus flew better. I was also promised to get all versions from .54 or something when I was stupid to buy it up to 0.99 for free. The last one I had did not run on WinXP as I had at that time. When I open a ticket the only reply I got was that MS does not support WinXP any more so nothing they could do. What!! Why did the previous verson work?? Now I an on Win7 i5 but I will not install this crap if I get it. Stay away as far as possible. Only nice to look at but the rest is crap. Are they not releasing 0.8 for free?? I was promised that!
  19. Yes if you set it to wait for long between checks/adjusts. I have never seen any scenery refresh, I've set it to check every 4/5 min and if the time differs 4 sec or more it adjusts. That small adjustment does not cause any scenery refresh If it did cause a refresh the whole time it would have been a dead prod by now. /per
  20. Try this! I use it and it works great. Checks the FSX clock and adjusts it if needed. http://www.3dsoftworks.net/products/fsrealtime/ /Per W
  21. I use OpusFSI that can open a moving map with both AI aircrafts around you and the weather, a drop down box to select what weather you want to see. Turbulence, cloud cover and so on.. Including airport info. All in one. Weather, cameras that also shakes in turbulence and more, and now latest added is the moving map with AI and weather. Google + some more. Buttkicker support, TrackIR support. You can zoom in all the way to the airport for taxi if you like. Have look at their site. http://www.opussoftware.co.uk/opusfsi.htm Best of all is that it have a very small footprint in memory, no crazy huge GUI like ASN. /Per W
  22. FYI I just exit FSX, not first End Flight and then Exit. If I am in window mode I just press the X in the right upper corner. In the past I did first exit flight and then exit FSX and had crashes. /Per W
  23. If AP is still on you can not control steering. Make sure it is off. I have done that mistake a couple of times. Also switch off the AT.
  24. Hi Where can I find the 777 SP1c changelog file? Would like to see what are changed. I know it is in OPC but I am on an old WinXP so when I press the changelog button to read it OPC crashes. No big deal for me, that button is the only one that does not work. All other buttons, settings, liveries and so works as they should. Have looked through <flightsimx>/PMDG and can not find any. It is enough if someone just adds the changelog as an post. Just reading it ones or twice is OK for me. Or have I missed some post somewhere with it? TIA /Per W
