  3. Hi John, Programms like AcitveSky give you a headwing/tailwind component. Like how much tail/headwind will be directly from behind/front. Like on the example you posted the headwind would be about 25-35 I guess. You could use sin and cos functions to calculate it properly.   7. Hi Chris, You are welcome! Hi Kevin, No problem! Nice you figured it out yourselfe. Basically, in the loadmanager you can set the payload for 4 types of aircraft (2 class, 3 class, high density and the freighter). The first three (pax versions) will all write to the same file. If you don't tick the freighter option, you will automatically load that weights. The programm will show pax and cargo weight from one of those three types (allways the last one you loaded in the loadmanager). If you tick the freighter, it will load the cargo weight (no pax = no pax weight) which you set for the 4th type, the freighter. Best regards, Jonathan
  8. Hi, I know it is a stupid question, but someone has to ask it!: Wouldn't something similar allow to get rid of the frame rate drop when the mousepointer is visible within FSX? Obviously, the whole cockpit isn't a display, but maybe it could be done with similar echniques you use for your display? Best regards, Jonathan

  16. Hi Craig, Thanks for your feedback! Very good spot, I guess you are the first one to notice that! Yeah, you are right, the suggested block fuel can be arround 2.000 kgs / 4.400 lbs greater than the sum of all previous fuel entries. However, only if the landing fuel is less than 11.000 kgs / 24.000 lbs. This can be because of one of the two following reasons: - The distance to alternate you entered is smaller than about 50 NM and/or - your contengency fuel is low due to a low contengency percentage or short route distance. I had to do this because if the FMC estimated landing fuel level is lower than 11.000kgs / 24.000 lbs a insufficent fuel message is triggered. Yes, very true, temperatures affect the MD-11's fuel consumption. However, the problem is, until today I have never found a document which would allow me to find such specific informations/factors about the MD-11's fuel consumption. After intensive search, I was able to get my hands on 5 .jpg pictures. Those where scans of tables from a passenger MD-11 operator, which showed the fuel consumption depending on weight, wind komponent and altitude up to 2000 NM. I did my best to use the data I had to create a fuel planner which was as precise as possible. However, due to missing factors, this software isn't that precise as it should be. Temperature beeing one of them. The lack of usefull data left some shortcomings in this software. One of them beeing the calculation of alternate fuel. I can't do much about it, until I find better tables, charts, etc. about the MD-11 and/or MD-11F. Best regards, Jonathan
  17. Hi, I did a short test with a full power takeoff and it came on at about 85% N1. However, on my physikal throttle that's about the 70% mark of travel. Maybe those 70% percent are throttle position? Or it could be, as you suggested, that it is 70% of your takeoff power setting. I honestly don't have a clue! And no, I am not a Guru here, those are other people! I just made similar misstakes as you when I was new to the MD-11 and I have learned from them. Best regards, Jonathan
  18. Hi, As far as I am aware, the service pack which has been released for the MD-11 is not included in the download version. You can find it out by activating reversers on your MD-11 while cold and dark. If they won't deploy, you are up do date, else download the service pack from the PDMG website. Best regards, Jonathan
  19. Hi Craig, You found another thing that makes the MD-11 so special. The aircraft will turn in the direction you turn the knob. Example: You fly heading 360 and you turn it to 040 clockwise, the aircraft will turn right. If you turn it counterclockwise, the aircraft will turn left. You can see that on the ND. Do you see the doted line, beginning at the HDG mark at the 12 o'clock position? It goes all the way clockwise to the heading you selected. The MD-11 will always turn in the direction that line shows. Best regards, Jonathan
  20. Hello, Today I have got the version 1.1.0 of this fuel planner for you. Beside some bugfixes it contains a very small new feature. You can now enter the ICAO identifier for an airport first, and it will automatically load the name of that airport, as it is saved in your Navigraph/Aerosoft Navdata. This is function isn't really necessary, however I made it as a small test. I plan to add a function to import flightplans/enter waypoints, so that distances can be calulated automatically and winds can be entered for certain legs. However, to implement that it will take some time, so don't have any hopes. You can download V 1.1.0 from here. As always, feedback is very appriciated. Best regards, Jonathan

  22. Again very weird bug you got there Craig. I guess that has something to do with the problem you have with releasing your parking brake by pressing the brakes. On my system I can disarm the autobrake just fine by tapping the brake paddles just slightly. I guess something is interfering with that command on your system. Can you check if you have the . (accidentally) assigned to another function too? Do you have any programs running in the background which may filter out that button? Best regards, Jonathan

  24. Hi Craig, I guess you are refering to this line in the FCOM: I think that means that the air system test will be started/is started once the "AIR SYS TEST" alert comes up. The test is then performed as long as the "Air Sys Test" is displayed in cyan, and is finished once it extinguishes. If you just push, and not hold the ANNUN LT TEST button, the air system test won't be performed. I am sorry, but I think I am missunderstanding you here: Do you have a problem when you do the test AFTER you connect any air source, or does it work? Do you mean the readout on the AIR synoptics page, or do you mean the NAC readout on the ENG synoptics page? Because the readout on the AIR synoptics page shows the engine bleed air temperature. As the crossbleed valves are open and ground air is connected to the engine number 2 bleed air system, all 3 bleed air systems will heat up to that 125 - 135°C. Best regards, Jonathan
