  1. Thanks Vernon for the very detailed explanation. That explains it very very clearly. Not talking specifically about PMDG's NGX, It means if the tanks are ever empty on ground like in the second picture, the fuel lines should be empty and there is theoretically no fuel in the aircraft since the fuel lines are depressurized on shutdown/ fuel pumps off, but the FMS is "calibrated" or designed to take into account the eventual fuel in the lines so it will indicate 0.2? If fuel is eventually put into the aircraft, and the pumps are turned on, the fuel quantity indicator should reduce by 0.2 (200lbs), and the FMS will read fuel from the tanks and adjust it by 200lbs.
  2. I havent seen it mentioned in any of the FCOM's VOL 1 or 2 yet. but its mentioned briefly in PMDG-737NGX-Tutorial-2, page 39.
  3. Thanks Kyle. I found it in the vol 2 of the tutorials. I didn't see it in any of our company training manuals. There isnt much written in the tutorial about "why" the fmc operates like that. So I'll ask our TRI.
  4. I thought as much. Thanks for the reply. Another thing on my list to confirm with my TRI.
  5. Hi guys, My FMC over-reads the actual fuel in the Tank by about 200lbs (0.2). With the fuel quantity set to zero through the fuel loading Page, the FMC still shows there is about 200lbs of fuel in the aircraft, but looking through fsx fuel menu and the aircraft gauges the tanks are empty. The FCOM says "PLAN/FUEL [Option – With PLAN FUEL line] Fuel on board is automatically displayed as received from the airplane fuel quantity indication system." Am I missing something or has this been addressed before?
  6. I think custom waypoints is a better term to use. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cydtSlBEJtc
  7. The 777 FMC flight plans could auto load directly to FSX ATC, The refueling/ turn around feature of the 777 is very good. If possible improve it to simulate pax loading within a given time and ZFW. Active sky weather request Ability to create advanced waypoints. These are just a few things I hope they include in the NGX V3 FMC.
  8. I smiled hearing Capt Rob mention the B727, at least I know they thought about it. Too bad, nothing for us analogue guys in a digital world. The NGX (esp the FMC) could do with some upgrades.
  9. Initial black boxes on fsx lights before they appear.
  10. Blank Atc menu after ATC instructions. You need to switch frequencies to bring back the menu. when Running FSX in fullscreen mode, switching to another application like music player, then switching back to FSX is a real pain. You have to use the maximize feature of task manager to bring back FSX into focus (win10). It's been fixed in P3D.
  11. multiple clicks on the menus causes a CTD if UIautomationcore.dll isn't installed in the FSX folder. I believe that was addressed in FSX-SE. Adding new scenery requires strange clicking procedures. FPS drop with mouse in virtual Cockpit. http://www.avsim.com/files/file/65-avsim-crash-to-desktop-guide-for-fsx-p3d-fs9/
  12. There is a setting in fsx.cfg if I remember corretly that enables or disables VFR AI traffic, that could be included in UI. i Would also suggest all possible settings or tweaks to be implemented in DFS should be in the UI and placed in two settings tabs/menu. one basic and one advanced.
  13. Here is South Africa ATC informs us to contact Departure at a particular altitude as part of our clearance. I think whats wrong with ATC addons is it tries to do everything for everybody. I think a better approach will be to create a proper ATC addon that works for just one country/FIR and sell that as an Addon and then expand from there. As an example create an ATC addon for french Airspace alone that only works within that airspace and when u have enough of such products you can merge them into a region specific Addon.
  14. Hi Erich Am working on my GRII Instructors Rating at port Elizabeth.
  15. Flight Instructor in South Africa/NIgeria
  16. Hi Martin, MS flight simulator had a lot of detail and attention placed on North America and Europe. Regions like Africa had very little attention i.e outdated airports, navdata, landclass etc. Is there any plan to give African Region a complete makeover in DTG flight Simulator? Will the New Simulator be truly international Simulator where we could set visibility to meters, different transition altitudes/Levels etc? Thanks..
  17. Try backing up then deleting your "fs9.cfg" in your "C:\Users\(user name)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9" folder. Then start FS9. It will regenerate a new fs9.cfg file for you. This is just in-case your .cfg file became corrupted.
  18. Come on PMDG why cant you guys make your own sim? your attention to detail is second to none. Great job!! I quietly Keep praying for A PMDG 727...
  19. R.I.P Tom, and I am very grateful for AVSIM.

  21. Hi there I saw a friend of mine use simlauncherX so I downloaded it from Avsim. After Installation I get an error with the Splash Screen saying "HiddenWindows.simlauncherx.exe Application Error" with some message about an exception occurring. I uninstalled, re-downloaded Microsoft framwork4.5, restarted the system then reinstalled and the error is still there. please kindly advise. Thanks A screenshot:https://www.dropbox.com/s/zi4mo0ttksooieh/Screenshot%202015-01-26%2017.55.40.png?dl=0 And I have the Log file ready.
  22. Hello Guys, My ASN is having trouble interpolating visibility. No matter what setting I use I get a visibility of 9.0 SM (9999+ m). I set maximum surface visibility to 8SM and it only applies to stations that have active or current weather metars, but for other stations that are fully interpolated by ASN the visibility is always 9.0 SM (9999+ m). everything else works perfectly. Example. DNMM 171036Z 09304KT 9999 NOSIG 32/16 Q1013 RMK ADVANCED INTERPOLATION Decoded textual weather for DNMM Wind: 093 at 4 knots Visibility: 9.0 SM (9999+ m) Clouds: None Reported Temperature: 32.0C Dewpoint: 16.0C Precipitation: None reported Altimeter: 1013 mb (29.92 inches) Surface winds calculated from the closest data grid point Surface temps calculated from the closest data grid point Visibility interpolation based on: -DBBB 58nm SW (2000), DXSK 194nm NW (5000) Altimeter interpolation based on: -DBBB 58nm SW (Q1013), DXNG 233nm NW (Q1018) Precipitation based on extended grid weather data
