I think the problem with clouds is not just unique to MSFS, X-plane is also struggling to get it right, and I think its because they all have one cloud rendering technique that they are trying to use to create the numerous cloud types and its not working or they haven't figured it out yet. Maybe that's why LM also did away with true sky for P3DV6.
  4. Not sure if its related, but I have had my Gigabyte 4090 stop displaying I.e screen goes dark but PC is still running either while running MSFS or just after running MSFS. Only started a couple of days ago and so far only with MSFS. Runs fine with DCS, xplane and P3D. Temps fine, no overclocking or under volting the card, everything at default. My best guess so far will have to be latest drivers causing the issues.
  5. Started out okay at my end this morning. Flew 100nm or so from departure airport into clear skies for the rest of the 600nm flight even though Satellite, METARs etc say there should be cloud. Other weather parameters seem to be okay just no cloud depiction.
  6. There is a setting in fsx.cfg if I remember corretly that enables or disables VFR AI traffic, that could be included in UI. i Would also suggest all possible settings or tweaks to be implemented in DFS should be in the UI and placed in two settings tabs/menu. one basic and one advanced.
  7. Here is South Africa ATC informs us to contact Departure at a particular altitude as part of our clearance. I think whats wrong with ATC addons is it tries to do everything for everybody. I think a better approach will be to create a proper ATC addon that works for just one country/FIR and sell that as an Addon and then expand from there. As an example create an ATC addon for french Airspace alone that only works within that airspace and when u have enough of such products you can merge them into a region specific Addon.

  10. Hi Martin, MS flight simulator had a lot of detail and attention placed on North America and Europe. Regions like Africa had very little attention i.e outdated airports,navdata,landclass etc. Is there any plan to give African Region a complete makeover in DTG flight Simulator? Will the New Simulator be truly international Simulator where we could set visibility to meters, different transition altitudes/Levels etc? Thanks..
  11. Try backing up then deleting your "fs9.cfg" in your "C:\Users\(user name)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9" folder. Then start FS9. It will regenerate a new fs9.cfg file for you. This is just in-case your .cfg file became corrupted.

  17. Hi there I saw a friend of mine use simlauncherX so I downloaded it from Avsim. After Installation I get an error with the Splash Screen saying "HiddenWindows.simlauncherx.exe Application Error" with some message about an exception occurring. I uninstalled, re-downloaded Microsoft framwork4.5, restarted the system then reinstalled and the error is still there. please kindly advise.   18. Hello Guys, My ASN is having trouble interpolating visibility. No matter what setting I use I get a visibility of 9.0 SM (9999+ m). I set maximum surface visibility to 8SM and it only applies to stations that have active or current weather metars, but for other stations that are fully interpolated by ASN the visibility is always 9.0 SM (9999+ m). everything else works perfectly. Example. DNMM 171036Z 09304KT 9999 NOSIG 32/16 Q1013 RMK ADVANCED INTERPOLATION Decoded textual weather for DNMM Wind: 093 at 4 knots Visibility: 9.0 SM (9999+ m) Clouds: None Reported Temperature: 32.0C Dewpoint: 16.0C Precipitation: None reported Altimeter: 1013 mb (29.92 inches) Surface winds calculated from the closest data grid point Surface temps calculated from the closest data grid point Visibility interpolation based on: -DBBB 58nm SW (2000), DXSK 194nm NW (5000) Altimeter interpolation based on: -DBBB 58nm SW (Q1013), DXNG 233nm NW (Q1018) Precipitation based on extended grid weather data

  21. These days with the numerous amount of aircraft addons being released, I am very picky on which ones I purchase. Milviz B732 and the NG's are awesome but I don't see myself buying a 777 because I will fly it just once. Personally short range classics and Bizjet keep my sim and real life flying very interesting.   23. Was hoping for updates on the BBJ series and ER's but hey just fly the 737 with 10pax that should simulate a BBJ.[emoji12]
  24. -An option to request local weather at airports without ATIS would be nice. Both for arriving aircrafts and aircrafts on ground. -Adding takeoff time during the handover to departure will also be nice, and landing time when told to taxi to the stand. (ear candy) -finally an option to request direct routing to a fix would be great...with ATC denying the request sometimes
  25. I also noticed that my destination weather is fully set at about 4 miles to land, visibility could go from 10km to the metar's 1500m when i am about 5-4 miles in the ils. Is it possible to set a wider radius and ceiling for arrival like 30 miles and 10000ft so the conditions don't drastically change on final approach.
