  2. I have just searched the 3000 page PMDG manuals could not find where i need to set NAV data source.Could you please tell me where you set FMC nav data source. I want to set my PMDG FMC to use FSX data.and i want to do this for all PMDG a/c i haveThanksJames

Did you ever think folks forget to sign thier name cause they forget, or maybe like to keep thier name private for personal reasons.Its for reasons like this i dont post much on AVSIM, technical dissusions too quickly fall into personal debates.If not signing my name offended you that much , imagine how offended i was when the first reply to my question was SIGN YOUR NAME!!!! I always check joy stick controller etc axis before engine start.Fuel inbalance is not the problem, cause i kept eye on fuel tanks on this flight, cause in part the flight was to allow me to measure NGX fuel usage so i could update my Fscaptain settings for NGX.As you suggested could be trim issue, so next time i see this problem i will just press fsx command to centre all controls, if that fails , then i have no idea.James

I have flown many cross wind landings since i got FSX in 2006, its now 2011, so i know what cross wind feels like.This situation however feels more like runaway Aileron trim, or rudder trim, but not sure. When the problem occurs its alamost impossible to keep plane from rolling over.By the way, if you dont have usefull opnion to add to perons post , please DONT reply with sign your name, its very rude and annoyingThanksJames woods

I have been seeing exact same thing as well, turn off auto pilot during after capturing LOC/GS, and mine was banking right, i have had this twice now, always just after AP off.Thinking i will try see if pressing (FSX centre all controls ) will fix this issue, its supposed to centre aileron/rudder/pitch trims. If that fails , dont know what it could be.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Another problem i seen with NGX is Left AP disengage during turbulence, no big deal , but for the rest of the flight i am not able to reengage left AP.I had to use right AP all the rest of the way, but on approach LOC/APP capture buttons had no effect whatsoever, even though ILS tunes and verified ok.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Looks like we gona need another NGX patch soon

  9. keeping things very simple, PMDG should just supply planes with Airac compatible with FSX database, then provide option to install latest Airac, for those who fly online.Most simmers dont fly online, and its hassle running around looking for old Airac that will match fsx database, Simple!!!.

Thanks for the reply. what you say is same thing i found on google regards FSX.I think this issue has another effectHeading on MCP of NGX and FSX differs by a few degrees.Makes sense for all FSX addon developers to go by FSX database, and all real world addon developers to go by reall world data.Thanks

In FSX DNMM has runwys 19L/R 1L/Rin PMDG FMC DNMM has runways 18 L/R 36L/RAnybody know a way to fix this without having to go round every airport.And if this is caused by FSX database being out of date, then maybe addon developers should make thier databse static as well rather than trying to keep real world data when we cant chnage FSX where we use the addon.The issues is with PMDG NGX, just foundout FMC does not have the runway FSX ATC or RC4 ATC has assigned me.Honestly PMDG why use updated database for FMC if FSX database remains the same, causing problems in FSX.If we no tgoing to fly the SIm in real world , then maybe FMC should use seame version as FSX database.Can this issue be solved by installing some old database , if so where can i get oneThanks
  12. Since folks say weather generation has improved in AS2012, and the textures are still not as good as Rex overdrive.One option might be to get AS2012 for weather and retain REX for textures, AS WEVE ALWAYS DONE!!!!.

  14. If you asking about FSCaptain.It reads the a/c CFG fil, to get info required for Dispatch fuel, etc . It does not write the file

The vid was nice and detailed, but i still think what you can get on UTube these days is also quite impressive.This vid below is from 737 real world pilot , doing NGX tutorial The only thing i will say is PMDG needs to be more reasonable and produce PDF manuals that you can easily navigate rathe than 2000 pages of stuff you have to scroll through.
  16. I have used all these three in the given orderXPAX scores 10%Fspassenger scores 50% - 10%(cause its not ben updated in 3 years) = 40 %Fscaptain scores 70% + 10%(cause its frequently updated with new features) = 80%

The problem with disbaling TrafficX Scenery as a solution is that, you will get less AI traffic at the airports affected.Trafficx airports add extra parking spaces, you take them out, some airports will look a bit empty.One good thing about this problem is that its pattern is consistent- if both ends of runway share same ILS, the runway with higher number is the one youll pickup ils signal for , so for runway 28 and 10, on approach youll only get signal for 28.Better still dump Trafficx and move to MyTrafficx5.4, its much much much better.The AI in MyTraffix is about same standard as TrafficX, but aitports are filled better, even remote very small airports have traffic.And the airlines youll see at airports match what yioud expect, and that is gloabllyMilitary Air Bases nicely desne with Traffic , unlike Trafficx empty Militray Air fieldsAll together much better AI visuals all round, and none of this ILS issue.Cause if you go down route of fixing each airport, you may find that a very long road.

  20. Maybe ill have to google the boeing manuals, cause this aint working. Just trying to get enough info for cold start.I would Gladly for go a few items on the plane modeling for a set of manuals i can navigate, as software engineer, half my job is reading documents,and ease of document navigation is 70% of the reading effort.All that is rerquired is a MSword version of the document with only bookmarks for sections and headings. Tried converting the PDF to word online , but the convertion did not pickup on heading.Wount be suprised if there is free tool that could do this online.In any case, realism means big manuals.. i dont mind that, big manuals you cant navigate easily, is a turn off.

Just been braving the NGX manuals about 6 diffrent booklets in all, excellent lots of info.But for manuals in PDF here two are over 1000 pages long, its very hard to navigate a 1000 page document wiithtout bookmatks for headingd and sections.Currently the only way i can navigate this stuff in PDF is by searching for words.I have J41, 747.MD11. NGX and its same thing with all these manuals, if a manual is gona be over 50 pages . heading / section bookmarks is a must for navigating the document.Unless i am missing something here, dont see how i am supposed to read 1000 page manual wihtout being able to use section heading bookmarks.
  22. using 737-800 SP1, both had same issue with original version. After install NGX ,FSx only sees 737-800 no wingletAfter few days investigating found i could fix the problem by passing the alias of other variant panels to 737-800 no winglet , and copy the entire 737-800 no winglet folder to the other variants.In short looks like the alias is failing for the plane, cause soon as i copy over all the panel files including panel.cfg from the main copy in 800 no winglet all is fine, fsx sees all variants.I am not comfortable with this soltion cause1. i have to maintain 4 copies of NGX panel.cfg2. NGX performance config goes crazy due to this chnage so cant chnage it from its defualt high res settings.3. plus who knows what elseI have most all other pmdg stuff , plus other addon that use panel aliasing but none has this problem.IKO Woods
  23. To install FCOm, just run the FCOM wizard, which puts FCOM in any plane you choose, it does it for you.I moved from Fspax to Fscaptain , quite nice . and very well supported product.

Maybe you need to google these terms togetherAddon scenery , Trafficx , FSX, ILSI had this issue after installing Trafficx, and fixed it by moving trafficx scenery above addon scernery, years later i decided to dump Trafficx and use the new MyTrafficx 5.4 and same issue again, fixed it this time by moving MyTrafficx scenery near the very bottom of FSX scenery so its priority is one of the highhest.Google the correct words on this, youll find many have had this issue, Now if you have not installed any addon that adds to your scenery dont know whats the cause.For sure google , Runway ILS opposite problem scenery, and you find what i am saying.Dont messup yuor AFCAD ,In FSX tower will not turn off ILS for opposite runway, it just works, when you dont have this issue.1. Try this , look in your scenery list for any none default scenery you might have installed lately2. Move the scenery above Addon Scenery, start flight at airport like EGLC which has same ils for opposite runway , see if you get both ILS signals correct3. If any ILS failed, move the new scenery file below addon scenery, and test again at EGLC or similar airport. At EGLC i could only pickup [iLSR] till i fixed the problem, by moving new stuff about in scenery priority list
