In SP1d, using the Continental livery, which has the steam type gauges, when the WX radar is selected on the EFIS panel the Compass rose expands too much and overlays the altimeter, with the leftmost number falling in between the altimeter and the VSI, instead of staying inside the map display is it should.

  4. I am getting ready to install the new 1d update, and obviously I want to do a clean install if possible. My issue is that I have many many key commands mapped to my HOTAS Warthog and Cougar MFDs. Is there a way to keep these key mappings through the upgrade? A file I can copy someplace and then copy back? Thanks in advance.
  5. No, Comcast has not replaced Time Warner in my area yet. But I will attempt to change my DNS server settings in my router, maybe that is the problem. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll report back with my results in a little while. No, unfortunately changing the DNS server didn't work. I changed it both in my router and on the main machine to the OpenDNS servers, and no joy.
  6. OK, some further information. I have 2 broadband connection into my house. One is a Time Warner cable line, and one is an AT&T DSL line. All but one computer in the house is hooked up to the TWC ISP through a router and several switches. I can not access the site from any computer that is on this network. However, on the one computer that is on the AT&T network I can access the site without issue. Any ideas why I can't get to it from the network that is hooked up to TWC? Thanks.
  7. Any idea why I would keep getting a "Forbidden" message whenever I try to access it? I have tried it on 3 different rigs, but all go through the same router and ISP.
  8. I hate to post on a 5 year old thread, but I am having this exact same issue, with most of the airports that I fly into with the PMDG MD-11X. But this is the only aircraft that I have the problem with. With both the PMDG 737NGX and the PMDG 777, as well as all captain sim aircraft, the approach course is perfectly lined up. But with the MD-11X it is normally off at least 5-10 degrees, which makes the autoland not available. I would think that if this was an afcad file problem that it would occur with all my aircraft, not just one of them. Airports that I have noticed this at include KMEM, KEWR, RJAA, KMIA, and KSDF. Does anyone have ant ideas what could be causing this? Thanks.
  9. Has anyone else had problems accessing the airnav.org site? I have been trying to get into it for the last 3 days and all I get is a page that says what I posted below this. Airnav.com is down as far as instrument procedures, and I'm having problems finding a site with current charts. Am I doing something wrong trying to get to aircharts.org?   10. Thank you Bert, that worked perfectly and I now have the G100 C172 and Baron in my original FSX install. To everyone who is worried about a corrupted install, as I stated previously, this is at least the 10th machine that I have installed this version of FSX and Accel on due to upgrades. The nect time I upgrade my hardware I will install the Gold edition. But I have never had any issues with the base install of FSX and Accel that I have, I just never had these G1000 panels. And until I purchased the Gold edition I didn't know that I didn't have them because I never knew they existed. Thanks for the help.
  11. Thank you for the suggestion. I will give that a try. As to a corrupt install, this is probably to 10th rig that I have installed my FSX and Accel on, and I have never had the g1000 172 or Baron available to me. I wouldn't have even known they existed had I not bought the gold pack to do an experiment. I don't want to re-install because I have too many paid add ons to deal with, and Captain Sim is giving me problems reinstalling some of their products.
  12. Look guys, I believe you that you have it. Please believe me that I don't. If I could figure out a way to post a screenshot I would show you my simobjects/airplanes folder. They are NOT there. So is there a way to copy these folders from my newer install into my older install? Or a way to just install them off the newer Accel pack?
  13. And I don't. Not on the original Accel pack that I bought years ago. I probably bought it the first year that it came out. It is not in that one. I will be happy to post a screenshot (if it is possible and I can figure out how to do it) if people really find this to be so unbelievable. It is, however, in the one that is being sold now, and the one I just purchased. So is there a way to either install it from the new Accel disk without having to do a complete re-install, or is there a way to copy it from the new install into my old install? That is already checked. I have 5 variations of the C-172SP available, none of them are the G1000. It also doesn't have the BE-58 G1000. In other words, my accel pack is so old that it didn't come with the G1000 options.
  14. Either way, I have Accel installed, but mine apparently didn't come with the C-172 G1000. Which brings us back to the question, is there a way to install that aircraft off my new accel disk without having to re-install everything?
  15. I have already installed acceleration over the original deluxe. Both have been activated. And no, I don't have the c-172 G1000, nor an F-16. I have a mustang and an EG-101 chopper, but my Accel pack came with an F-18.
  16. I have a question for the experts. My main FSX install is the original FSX deluxe, with Acceleration added on. The other day I bought FSX Gold to try an experiment, and noticed that it had a C-172 with the G1000 panel that the deluxe version doesn't have. Is there a was to get that aircraft installed into my original install? Thanks in advance...
  17. Thanks for the replies everyone! I think I finally got it figured out, at least for the most part. I disabled about 75% of my startup items in MSCONFIG and immediately picked up 24FPS (from 36 average to 60+ average). Yesterday I finally had the opportunity to test the biggest problem that I have been having, which was my Leonardo MD-80 on or close to the ground at any large airport. In this situation I would consistently drop to less that 10FPS, making it almost impossible to perform a decent landing. After disabling the startup items I am getting about 45FPS, and the only time it tanks is when I switch from the outside view to the inside view, in which case it drops to 5FPS for about 1 second, then recovers to 40+. I really appreciate the suggestions and tips from everyone that offered! Thanks again. flyguycaa

  19. I have a question for everyone. Is there a possibility that an add-on aircraft could cause across the board low frame rates in FSX(regardless of what a/c I am operating)? My install averages about 36FPS, but when flying complex aircraft close to the ground it will fall into the teens, making landing very difficult, not to mention annoying. In an experiment I installed Win7 Pro to a new SSD, and did a fresh install of FSX Gold, and before adding all my add on aircraft and scenery my FPS is about 82. This is all measured using FSXMark07, running 3 runs, then averaging them. I guess what I'm trying to figure out is if the issue is my add ons or all the other crap that is installed in Windows. My specs are: i7 3700K oc'd to 4.2 Ghz ASUS P8Z77-V Pro MB 16GB Corsair Vengeance memory (2) GTX 760 video cards (NOT running in SLI when FSX is running) Audigy 2 ZS sound card FSX is installed on a drive labeled Z, which is a 500GB Samsung 840 EVO Win7 Pro 64bit This is driving me nuts. If you need to know what add-on aircraft I have installed I will be more than happy to provide the list. I don't believe it is the scenery, because I have un-checked every scenery add on I have in the scenery library and there is no change. Thanks in advance!
  20. Is there a complete list of all the keyboard shortcuts available for the NGX? I am trying to use my Thrustmaster Cougar MFD's with a registered version of FSUPIC and the come of the default controls don't work. I know that somewhere there must be a list, because when people ask what one is someone always comes up with whatever the correct shortcut is. A complete list would be much appreciated. Can anyone help me here?Thanks in advance...
  21. One other note about V1. The speed is predicated on stopping on the remaining runway WITHOUT the use of thrust reverse, ONLY maximum braking. Yes, on a shorter runway V1 will be well below Vr.
  22. That is not correct. You can autoland on a CAT I runway, it is done all the time for practice and aircraft certification. The ILS signal is the same regardless of the CAT certification of the runway and the ILS receiver doesn't know the difference. In the actual aircraft you disengage the autopilot with a thumb switch on the yoke, and you silence the warning by pressing the same thumb switch a second time. If you hit it just right you can disengage with the warning never sounding.
  23. At my airline the Yaw Damper is turned on after the IRS is aligned and the electric Hydraulic pumps are turned on. This is after external power is selected or the APU is started. FWIW I had it not turn on once, made the flight without it, and the problem never occurred again.
  24. When you installed FSX and accel, did you start FSX and do a short flight before installing Accel? And again before you installed NGX? In fact, you need to start FSX and do a short flight (1 min will do) between installing any addons.
  25. The advantage of Professional is that it has some compatability tweaks that Home Premium doesn't have, and this may allow you to use more programs designed for WinXP that will not run natively on 7.
