Most excellent, Bert. And although this is a complete new language - Hex editor and all, I see there is hope. Many thanks

Hi Bert, Where is the code/command that controls where the gauge gets its input? I understand that changing the gauge to another one is difficult, but how about making the ADF needle point to a VOR on NAV I or NAV II? Thanks for your reply. Regards
-
Ok, information here leads me to believe that this 3D panel is not friendly to gauge adding. However, can we change the way an original gauge behaves - where it gets its input from? I would like to have the ADF gauge to behave like a RMI and therefore draw its input from one of the NAV radio. It would be cool if both functionalities (RMI and ADF) could somehow be kept. I have looked around the Panel folder and some Cab files, but I am coming up empty.

Miss the usefulness of the RMI. Anyway to add the default FSX RMI (King Air or Baron) to replace the ADF gauge. I experimented, but my prior experience is just swaping radio stacks. Regards

Chapter III : Limitations
-
open up the default FSX GPS (shift + 1), go to the Direct menu and enter the fix/waypoint you want. You can then close it a forget about it as the A/P will now follow the FMS. I do not know why it does that, but if you open your default GPS and it is showing no course line (magenta) and displaying nav info, then you need to do the above to avoid the 360 turn

Good job, Bryan, cabin announcements working with the last update. Is there a way to turn them off?? JUST KIDDING!!!!!! Regards

Sluggish Ground Speed Indication
Frank Otero replied to GAJ52's topic in PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)
Also, if you have selected V/L for Nav information, DME and GS will be based on the VOR or ILS you have tuned in. And, GS from a VOR/DME or ILS/DME becomes less accurate if you are not flying directly from or to the station. So if you just landed and have the ILS tuned in, it will not display good GS when taxing in an angle and will actually give you those dashes when close to 90 degrees from the station. The same if you have the field's VOR tuned in (or one close enough to receive). Do a little test. Fly directly to or from a VOR/DME from 20 - 30 miles out or more. Leave the Nav on LNAV. The GS should be right on as you compare it between the reading on your DME display and the GS on your EHSI. Then, enter a turn and see how the GS in the DME display begins to change while it remains the same in the EHSI (it may change some as the wind changes and if you do not maintain airspeed in the turn, but not as drastic as in the GS in the DME indicator). -
no video marshaller and non voice annoncement
Frank Otero replied to wasp's topic in Voice Control Version
I was able to open the marshaller through the views menu/panels. The panel comes up and disappears, need to go to the views menu again for the panel to stay visible. After that, I can continue to bring the panel back up with the views menu, but not with the selected key programmed for the clutch (changed twice). The video works and if I need it I can go to views menu. I did another successful flight, all triggers, no cabin announcements - only the FA and ground crew coming to the cockpit for boarding paxs, load sheet, cabin secured etc. I can live without these things, just curious what are the announcements, and letting you know of the problem. Most likely is a local thing on my machine. Regards -
no video marshaller and non voice annoncement

Hi Bryan, I have Windows Media Player installed. I am on windowed mode in FSX. I cannot even get the control panel to come up - I have assigned a key to the clutch. CAB vol is up. I have completed several flights successfully but no announcements I run Windows 7 Regards -
I may be going out on a limb here, but just off the top of my head I have loaded the IDOSI arrival into Hong Kong and I am pretty sure it is an RNAV SID. Even if it was not, you can still fly in the RNAV world since you can go direct to a waypoint/intersection from anywhere (not having to track a radial from a VOR first). When I use the FMC, I file /F in this plane. Regards

no video marshaller and non voice annoncement
Frank Otero replied to wasp's topic in Voice Control Version
Hi Bryan, Same problem here, no marshaller or cabin announcements (cab volume up). Running the update. At what point are these announcements supposed to be heard and what triggers them. It is no big drama, but I just want to know the reason causing it. Regards -
Loss of air speed failure
Frank Otero replied to Jim Padgett's topic in PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)
Your pitot tubes probably froze. Did you have your ice protection on? Did the backup AS indicator (analog) also went dead? "Diving to the ground" - can ignore that one, eh? hihihih. Most likely you stalled. Hard to land without knowing your airspeed -
I have had the FMC do that turn to the north once in a while when engaging the LNAV. Open your default GPS (shift + 1) after you engage the LNAV. If there is no nav info on the GPS - like showing you are direct to OKSET, for example, program the GPS to go direct to the waypoint you need. The LNAV goes back to normal and follows the remaining waypoints in the FMC - you do not have to mess with the GPS after that. I do not know why this happens.

Like Eric, my first thought was the Start Locks. But if you are going far enough into reverse that should unlock them. perhaps you have to unlock them and go back to idle before trying reverse. interesting though.

Where are these Liveries?
Frank Otero replied to raffer's topic in PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)
Great, but how? -
For US charts : skyvector.com not only can you plan your own stuff - instead of a copy/paste from other sources, but it will give you all the charts you need, including sid/stars and approach plates. On selecting altitude, using what you find in flightaware or the like may not be good for your flight for many reasons, the most important that the winds may not be favorable for your flight. So pick your cruising altitudes based on the Wx for your flight and not the Wx from the past.

J-41 Runway length requirement
Frank Otero replied to billkirk888's topic in PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)
I have found the same. You need to load fuel through FSX. -
JS41 - Did you ever noticed....
Frank Otero replied to xxJohnxx's topic in PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)
Not as cool, but have you all noticed the coffee stains on the performance book (I think on the 22000 lbs and beyond)? Or how the sun visors work, even the jump seat and armrests. -
How do you reach such conclussion? I can manually set an overcast on FSX and it will depict it just fine, or CB up to 40,000ft. But ASE seems to fall short in these areas. I am on MDSD (dominican republic) where ASE says the Wx is Haevy Rain, overcast - but not a drop on my windshield. I set Wx to FSX downloaded and I got the rain, etc etc.

Engine Fire during Take-Off
Frank Otero replied to flyfree10's topic in PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)
I tend to think you did not bring your conditon levers to "Flight". I do not think forgeting the locks will burn the engine because most likely you will not get to the runway with them locked :)))))))) -

My brother, there are not enough merits left out there that could erase my demerits... even when sober Cheers -

I always arm them after startup, and leave them like that. Am I missing something where you are supposed to disarmed them at some point after takeoff? Regards
