  1. alpha12125 is right and I fear the same for the new Dovetail flight game! I got the Dovetail Train Simulator 2015 for a few euros on a steam sale. It has some nice looking trains and its easy to get into. The routes about 300-400 meters right and left of the railroad tracks are nicely modelled. The scenery in the background looks odd some times. Also the ai passengers on the platforms look like a clone wars zombie army doing the Mikael Jackson moonwalk. Not that much effort went into modelling the ai virtual passengers apparently. Lots of DLCs. A completely new train route is 29€. The 4 year old son of a friend loves to play Train Simulator 2015! I fear they have the mass market in their view, the casual gamer who loves easy games with nice eye-candy! Probably they think that they may have "lost" the hardcore simming crowd to P3D, X-Plane 10 and FSX "classic" anyway..so why cater to them anymore? Just a guess...

  6. Um, yes, in some muslim countries You can have 4 I think! Which will just confirm my point that You can have more than one on Your hard drive... And You don't need to treat them all equally all the time... B)
  7. Steam has millions of users now. Among them is a certain % interested in simulations. There are other simulations already on steam, Rise of Flight, Il2, AeroflyFS, Bus simulators, train simulators and others. These are niche games and won't bring in millions of new players like the Blockbusters do, but they'll have their audience and will bring in new people. I switched to Steam for other simulation-related games as well. It's convenient and easy to use. If You are patient and can wait there are always Steam sales with huge discounts on games during the year. Just direct the new people to the existing x-plane forums where all the info is!
  8. Flight sims are not wives! You can own and use all of them next to each other and enjoy the advantages each one has...
  9. I didn't expect us to win against Brasil, Brasil has always been one of the best teams in the world. The final goal against Argentina was a mixture of hard work and a little bit of luck. Thats life! Looks like people from all over the world had a great time in Brasil! Party at Berlin today. Yeah!
  10. Is SkymaxxPro 2 a completely new product or an update to the existing one?
  11. They wrote they got Unreal engine 4 for this and will use that engine for further sim products as well. I don't know much about engines but I guess Unreal engine 4 is not that useful with flight simulations..is it? Afaik that engine was primarily developed for shooters and action games.
  12. not what we are waiting for! Its a...fishing simulator!
  13. Lugano I got this freeware one and its nice! There is another Lugano freeware on the .org as well. And there's also a payware one from Aerosoft. Can't find the Locarno any more, links disappeared, sorry! Just check the .org for Freeware. Lots of good stuff there.

  15. Nice Helicopter! I think its time for a serious update from Austin about whats going on with XP and about the actual status and mid-term plans. Long time we saw some update from him.
  16. Yes, world2xplane is really cool! Thank You for Your work Tony, I really appreciate it!
  17. For consumers there's the Gamescom in Cologne in August. Probably we'll get to know more then.
  18. E3 is almost over so I think its about time for an announcement so we can finally start to crash the Avsim-Servers! Its a new day, so Tom please give us another hint!
  19. Austin Meyer is a Mac guy and hates MS and Windows. And he developed his X-plane. I don't think he has anything to do with it. The hints from Tom point to a much bigger company with deep pockets.
  20. Looks like E3 is all about Consoles and PC games only play a minor role. All MS announced and did so far at E3 was primarily for and about the Xbox, with a few titles playable on PCs also. Its sad to see how MS has dropped the PC games sector. PC games made MS successful and boosted pc and hardware sales. I still remember a time when flight simulations were covered on the front page and on multiple-page-previews in the PC gaming mags. Then over time the simulations disappeared as an own category with specialized journalists from the PC gaming mags. Later when shooter games became the hype simulations were covered with 1/4 page reviews on page 74 or so, if at all. And nowadays even popular PC gaming mags fight for survival. The Let's play scene at Youtube and streamers on Twitch have taken that role. My point is: It's possible not to see an announcement this week at E3. E3 is not focused on PC games (anymore) and developers like to show something at E3 also. If the deal was just closed a week ago there won't be anything to show to the public yet. Probably Gamescon in August? E3 in a year from now? Let the speculation continue...
  21. Hi, several years ago I flew a little bit on IVAO with FS2004. Now with X-Plane my question is not about the networks, but about the software connecting to them: Do both X-plane plug-ins for IVAO and VATSIM work and function stable and well? Or is there one that works, better, more stable etc than the other? Are both working with 64 bit? Thx!
  22. To make a commercial product there would be a lot of legal issues to deal with, regarding data and all, wouldn't there be?
  23. Great pics Mik! They almost look photoreal!
  24. Does that cover Europe as well or just USA? Is it for VFR flights also?
