  1. I just bought P3D, but I cant get a full screen. I have the fullview option set but I still see my windows taskbar at the bottom and the P3D title bar at the top. Any help? Thanks.
  2. From what I have read, it seems that some fixes work some of the time, and some people report not having the problem at all. Given the inconsistencies with the problem / solutions, could this be something else related to a particular set up or addons like a weather engine. Can someone who does not see the problem share their setup / addons info? I have been planning to get FTXG, but the pics above will keep me far from it if there is no workaround.
  3. I think there may be a way to zoom the cockpit view (not eyepoint) independent of the scenery FOV. I do not have P3D to confirm, but I read about it before and this thread seems to indicate this as well. Can anyone confirm? http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=4581
  4. Instant Approach is worth the money, IMO. Yes, you can drag and drop your plane in FSX to align your own approach, but Instant Approach can set your wind speed and angle, your FREQ / NAV data for the selected runway, and visibility settings in a matter of seconds. Instant Approach cuts the time to manually set these things up in FSX via the map. I can design approaches to multiple runways at the same airport or many airports in various visibility scenarios, day / night etc. in seconds. Save the flight once it loads and you can build many approach scenarios in a very short time. Remember to "click on" or activate FSX once you load the approach, giving focus back to FSX saves on the loading time.
  5. What does this button offer in terms of options? Are you able to pick any location (altitude etc) to set up an approach scenario? I currently have FSX Instant Approach and looks like P3D may already have something similar built in.
  6. I am holding back my purchase of P3D for the first patch. Everyone has their own tolerance level for software issues and mine is fairly low when it comes to major bugs out of the box. Some of these issues should have definitely been caught during the beta session or maybe the beta participation should have been lager. If $80 was too much to pay for an X-plane beta that took me a year to run on my high end system, then surely $199 is way too much to pay for buggy software. However, I believe that things will improved in another month or so with P3D. With that said; I am definitely looking forward to LM’s patch, I will then get P3D and forget all about FSX. LM is committed to improving their product, they have a very professional and supportive attitude towards their customers on their forum, and they try to keep folks informed about their progress with fixing things. I think LM will turn this rough start into a very good future for P3D.
  7. I don't know if it is easy to develop for both FSX and P3D at the same time; that would depend, I imagine, on the functionality of the addon. However, given that P3D claims that developers can do much more with P3D than they could with FSX, the new additional “P3D only” functionality alone would cause a break in a joint development effort. I see your point; I would hate to switch between 3+ sims for my flight fix. I will most likely have to wait a little longer for newer products to reach P3D.
  8. I was just in the FSX forum and looking at vids of the new Active Sky Next weather engine to be released soon for FSX, and then later for P3D. While I have not yet picked up P3D because I am waiting for a patch to clear up some issues, I wonder what the platform priority will be for future third party development: FSX or P3D? In this transition period, will devs continue to develop for FSX first and then later cut a release for P3D? I realize that many addons work in both platforms already, but with the new capabilities for the P3D SDK, will developers leave FSX totally and focus mainly on the new possibilities with P3D? Ultimately, will third party developers burn their time trying to support both platforms (bugs etc.) if their product does not support both platforms without major modifications? Before the choice was develop for FSX or XP10, now P3D throws another dimension into how third party devs will invest their time in the future.
  9. That is nice to hear, I saw a couple of vids where the clouds (default I believe) looked really good especially when flying through them. I have REX and it is good to know the improvements that P3D will bring to the REX experience.
  10. My thoughts as well… It is hard to believe that many of these issues were not discovered during their beta sessions; and to the extent that they were not, perhaps LM should have increased the participation. While I think LM is on the right track, I have no desire to pay a lot of money for a beta. I learned my lesson with an $80 purchase of the XP10 beta; I could not play it for almost a year due to issues. For $199, P3D has to be in better shape than what I am seeing on these forums. However, I am looking forward to a more stable P3D…I will then get it and leave FSX in the past.
  11. +1...definitely waiting. I like FSX and I have it running fairly well for where I fly, but I am looking forward to P3D v2 and a smoother experience. While I can understand other's views, I just don't see a need to spend more money on FSX, I will delete it as soon I can get P3D v2 loaded and running (barring any major issues). FTXG was really tempting me, but I’ll get it for P3D v2
  12. Does anyone know how to get SweetFx working in XP10? I am not sure if the files should go in the main XP10 directory or the plugin directory.
  13. I never know that about XP10 because I always fly in clear weather. I will have to check this out later. Is this a feature of XP10 or the addon developer? Meaning, will I see it regardless of my payware aircraft, like the BK-117?
  14.     Good point about FU2/3. I wonder how hard it would be for Carenado etc to implement this. If easy, I think it would be well worth the investment. Given that Carenado is known for their visuals, rain effects would be right up their alley.
  15. With the new rendering engine and opportunities that come with it, do you think 3PDs will develop (or would you ever want) rain on windows while flying like these other sims below produce? I think it would add to the immersion especially when tracking the glide slope with limited visibility. Train Simulator Euro Truck
  16. None of the above helped (I already had the HIGHMEMFIX line). Any other ideas?
  17. Thanks for all the help / suggestions...I will check into these issues.
  18. Thanks for your response. My specs are... i5-2500K oc to 4ghz - nvidia 670 4GB - 250GB SSD
  19. Can anyone help with this? Carenado's support is slow to respond to emails. On initial flight loads , my SR22 has missing textures. If I reload a fight, then the plane shows fine. I do have my texture max size at 4098. See attached pic...
  20. Some SweetFx setting can be found here http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/game/136/ Can Someone else post their SweetFx settings? I installed using these directions and links http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vhuwcq5lOMc ...works fine thus far.
  21. Thanks to all for your feedback... @Taz....wow, I did not know that. I will definitely wait for Carenado's version. I have their SR22 and that is all I have flown in the past 4 months. @ryanbatcund...see now you are going to make me spend another day researching the King Air...thanks for suggesting it. I think that may hold me over.
  22. Thanks for your replay. I have an Xbox PC controller and can wait for the beta to use it. Thanks again.
  23. Trying to decide between these two glass cockpit jets; can anyone tell me their experience…if they would recommend or not…known issues, heavey on FPS etc.?
