  1. I recently downloaded the demo. I am simply trying to adjust my “eye point” for each aircraft without having to edit the aircraft config file. What I cannot seem to do is have the OPUS dialog sit on top of my FSX window so that I can “see” the view changes as I adjust pitch x and Y axis views controls. I am left with switching between FSX and OPUSFSX, but this does not always work because ALT – TAB does not play nice with FSX in Windows 7. Long story short, I have not been able to change any views. In Xplane 10 there is a pilotview plugin that opens a window on top of the sim and you can both make view and see these changes at the same time. Can OPUS do this?
  2. I have done a fair amount of searching on the web and have come up empty. Can anyone send me their FXAA settings or point me in the right direction to some repository (if any)? Thanks.
  3. I have had the SR22 GTSX for about 4 or 5 months, recently the plane does not fully load in the sim for spot (outside) view. I get missing textures (almost like the skeleton of a plaen in the air) and I can actually see the pilot through the gaps. This only happens on the first load of a saved flight, if I reload the flight, then the plane shows just fine. I have set my My cfg to allow for both 2048 / 4096 size textures (always did). The only recent change to fsx is a increase my cloud density. Please help...
  4. Carenado's Cirrus SR22 for the past 4 months....looking to get my PPL in this plane; prior to that, Eaglesoft's Cirrus SR22. @ryanbatcund - I like your choice of planes...I did not really notice RealAir before.
  5. I am currently satisfied with GEX (NA and Tropics) and UTX, however FTXG does look better to me. I won’t change just yet, but if I spent any more money on texture scenery, I would definitely go for FTXG….one and done. I think the higher pricing structure of GEX makes it a hard sell for someone just starting to invest in that type of scenery.
  6. I also recommend the MBB/Kawasaki BK-117, especially at that price! I also have X rotors AW139, Dreamfoil’s Bell 206, the S-92 Sikorsky, the MD-902 Explorer, and a few other payware helis; the MBB/Kawasaki BK-117 is my favorite. The sound, flight model and 3d cockpit detail sets it apart from all the rest.
  7. yes, that's the one. thanks...i will try when I get to the sim. On your pic, the PFD states "PIT" in the 3rd long box from the left (second row from the top). I remember mine displaying "ALT." Do you know what the 3rd long box represents?
  8. KFLL - RNY 27 (I beleive) - 110.70 FREQ - GEX / UTX scenery
  9. Thanks... I have tried the scenario parameters you described above. When below the GS and about 7 miles out, the plane (when AP actually engages) shoots up in the air to seemingly catch the GS then shoots down sharply...very erratic at times, but never actually descends according to the GS.
  10. When setting the ILS freq in my NAV/NAV2 and switching cdi to NAV1/Nav2, the approach autopilot does not always work; about 30% of the time it does. I also get similar results with the NAV autopilot. When using GPS, the AP works all the time. When the APP autopilot does work (plane moves towards the heading), the AP does not hold the glidescope, has actually plunged me into the ground 2 miles from the runway and sharply decreases / increases altitude.. Any help with this?
  11. OP, this article may suggest otherwise... http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2013-08-14-former-steam-boss-lands-at-microsoft Quote... "Yes, I have joined Microsoft where I will be focusing on making Windows a great platform for gaming and interactive entertainment," he said. "I think there is a lot of opportunity for Microsoft to deliver the games and entertainment customers want and to work with developers to make that happen, so I'm excited to be here."
  12. I have Saitek‘s flight controls (X52 Pro and rudder pedals) and I fly Carenado’s SR22T in FSX. When the plane is level and I move the stick sideways, the plane banks….when I release the stick to center, the plane stays banked. When the plane is level and I move the stick forward, the plane angles down and starts to descend ….when I release the stick to center, the plane stays angled down…(putting aside the effect of trimming). My problem is the rudder when maintaining the localizer on an approach... When I am heading 080, I use right rudder to a heading of 090….when I release the rudder, the plane almost snaps back towards my original starting point giving me a heading of 085 when I was originally shooting for 090. Why does the plane not stay at 090 when I release the rudder? I am not sure if I should use the rudder, ailerons or both to maintain the localizer / runway heading on an approach to a landing. In using the aileron, I am not always level when making contact with the runway. What am I doing wrong?
  13. A member on this forum constantly said.... [GRAPHICS] Settings = TurnYourSlidersDown!
  14. I have also been on the fence about purchasing FTXG…I currently have UTX / GEX for FSX. My original plan was to wait until P3D 2.0 and then get FTXG for that sim. However, screens and vids of FTXG look pretty good…some close to GEX and some better than GEX. I am just trying to hold off spending any more $$$ on FSX, and wait to see what P3D 2.0 brings into the mix and how FTXG will enhance that experience.
  15. Don't know if this has been posted on this forum yet....but both products look close (and good) to me.
  16. My experience with TrackIR 5 differs from the above. TIR5 works fine with XP10 on my PC. In fact, I use the same profile for both XP10 and FSX. I also use the PilotView Plugin.
  17. I was originally planning on getting FTX Global for FSX until I saw this video… http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/59546-ftx-global-90-second-video-over-phoenix-arizona/ I was always under the impression that Orbx scenery was 3D (like X-plane 10), having no flat painted buildings. This video (at 0:50) shows what looks like painted rooftops, buildings etc. While the FTX Global scenery does look better than FSX default and GEX (which I own for NA and Tropics), I do not see that much of an improvement for “me” to buy it right away, especially if there are still flat painted buildings etc. As they make improvements to FTX Global, I will most likely get it at some point in the future or when I eventually move to P3D V2 (if applicable).
  18. Considering the $80 I spent and the expectations that came along with that price tag, I rate XP10 a 5 out of 10. I was not able to run it consistently for almost 6 months due to the issues with the software (i have a fairly high end machine). Beyond that, the product was (and still is) incomplete. IMO...having a consumer pay you $80 to be your beta tester is consumer fraud. I give XP10 a 5 (instead of 0) because of the helicopter low level flying I can do now...after many updates. The plausible world (no popup scenery) works wonders for my Heli fix....I only use XP10 for helicopters. As for planes, thankfully, FSX still gets the job done.
  19. @dmbusmc - thanks, I will try that...I still had the CDI on gps. @raymar - thanks, I will research the materials you referenced.
  20. I have the following helis for xp10... 1) MBB / Kawasaki BK-117 2) X-Rotors Augusta 3) MD-902 Explorer 4) S-92 Sikorsky I can manage all of the above fairly well...and I am very light on the controls (which are on the far left of sensitivity / realism settings). However, the DF Bell 206 is so loose...it seems to just pitch and roll with extreme exaggeration to almost any input. I had a similar issue with the S-92 Sikorsky until I realized I had loaded XP9 files as opposed to xp10 in the directory. When I initially purchased the Bell 206, I was not given version 1.2, but later the xp-org store sent me another link, but this version 1.2 had no additional liveries. I think I still may not have the right version…something is missing. Any thoughts from owners of the DF Bell 206?
  21. Thanks, i am able to adjust the freq; however, i am not able to see / catch the glidescope on the left PFD. Any advice?
  22. Hi Can someone direct me to the instructions on how to enter the correct NAV / ILS freq / station (such as 148.1) into the plane to pick up the ILS glide scope? The SR22 has a numpad, but I don't know how to use it to enter in the frequency. Thanks.
  23. Is there a way to disable / acknowledge and turn off the langing gear warnings in this heli. When I fly / hover below 300 ft or so, a constant audible warning for landing gears keeps going off...annoying after a while.
