ASN Simconnect will not function
Kalibra replied to Jetman67's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHello Vic. I use AVG for anti virus on both machines, but not firewall management, that is done through windows. I have the following rules on both the client and server computer for SimConnect. Port 500 inbound/outbound Any protocol, i.e. tcp, udp etc.. Still not working. :( It was suggested that I put a post on the HiFi forum, which I will do later today. Thanks for the suggestion, they all help

ASN Simconnect will not function
Kalibra replied to Jetman67's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumRendi. Many Thanks for the config, I amended mine exactly as yours and still not able to use ASN. Do you have any more suggestions. About to throw it in the bin, probably will not as it cost a lot of money. ASN Simconnect will not function
Kalibra replied to Jetman67's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHi Wayne. Yes the IP address for the server and client are the same in the SimConnect files. Yes, I have the ini file in the documents folder on the server. Thank you so much for your help up to this point, I will take your advice, and open a post on the HiFi forum. Hopefully someone there has had the same problem and been able to fix it. Once again thank you for your assistance.

Kalibra replied to Jetman67's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumRendi yes I have... Wayne, I created a group on Flickr called what-else but Simconnect, where I have upload the screen shots. Can you take a look and see if there are any obvious errors. There is a mixture of shots from the computer running FSX (SERVER) and Client Machine running ASN. Cheers. Would help if I added the url.. https://www.flickr.com/groups/2527343@N25/?added=5

ASN Simconnect will not function
Kalibra replied to Jetman67's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumWayne. I built a rule around port 500 using any protocol not just TCP but UDP also, still not working. Clicked on more reply options to find the button to add pictures but I could not see it. Is this how you add pictures on here or is there another way. Good idea about the HiFI support forum, Thanks.

ASN Simconnect will not function
Kalibra replied to Jetman67's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHello Rudi. I printed out the above pages and read through it line by line. I cannot see where I have omitted or made a mistake in writing the config, ini and xml files. I have taken pictures of each one. Which I can send to you if it helps? There was only one point which may be the root cause.. at the bottom of page 89. there is a section "For Port" they suggest port 500. This port will need to be enabled in any software firewall program you are running (including windows firewall) example: <port>500</Port> I looked under firewall settings and firstly could not see SimConnect as a program, I am wondering if this is the problem? You have the option to browse for a program, if it wants a SimConnect path, which should I use, perhaps the xml file, I do not know just guessing here. Thanks for you help. PS: Just attempted again with ASN and no luck.

ASN Simconnect will not function
Kalibra replied to Jetman67's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHello Rudi. I have removed the copy that was in the main Hifi folder, and only have it in the documents folder now and I changed the port to 500.Do I need to do anything on the machine running FSX? Agreed a real pain... if it could work with FSUIPC and WideFS, it would be so much easier.

ASN Simconnect will not function
Kalibra replied to Jetman67's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumI read the web page and the step by step guidance on ASN about 5 times and followed the instructions, placing the cfg, in the HiFI folder was a move of desperation on my part, to get the bloody thing working... I also carried out the test of the config as recommended under section 5 and it worked immediately. This is why I cannot work out why ASN cannot see FSX... very frustrating. I also installed the x gauges in all my panels, without hassles...

Using TrackIR 5
Has anyone successfully configured their TrackIR5 hardware to work the the 737NGX, and are they willing to share their profile, or if they have a link. I have already tried to use the "seth profile" on their web site and it does not work for me. if so I would be very grateful, as I am ready to ditch the TiR, and go back to using my very reliable Ezdok. 1.17 Many Thanks.

Looking around the aircraft
Frogive me if this is not the right place to post my topic. Has anyone else using the excellent product for PMDG had this problem. I have used the 737NGX with Ezdok v1.17 very well for many months, with no issues of moving between panel views. Recently I purchased TrackIR5 with the Eazy Pro Clip attachment. I have excellent views laterally i.e. left and right, and straight ahead. My problem is when I raise or lower my head to look at either the overhead panel or the pedestal. I have the limited views, for the overhead, I can only see upto the fuel pumps and APU, after that if I turn my head the view becomes distorted, and I cannot activate the switches etc; When looking down, I cannot see below the PFD and ND, the CDU and Pedestal are impossible to see. I spoke with support to TrackIR they said the problem could be either with the aircraft or FSX, but they did not know enough about either products to give me further advice. If anyone has had this problem would they tell me how they fixed it. Thank you As I said if this is not the correct forum for this post, apologise.

Problem with colours in FSX
Hello gb and badfinger. Yes, I do have two logins same person.. I though the Kalibra had been disabled, as it had not been used for a very long time. gb, I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing.. 4bit, never heard of that one. Is it fixable .. I have done research and reading some posts it seems issues with this software can be solved by completely removing all files and folders. Then doing a fresh install from scratch... I still have the original download from flight1 backed up.. I am out of ideas about this problem, so I will try the fresh install, and see if that makes a difference. Thanks.

Problem with colours in FSX
gobz That did not work, so I removed FSX and all add on's, and like all flt simmers reinstalled everything from scratch. All went well until I installed EZDOK, then the problem happened again, so uninstalled EZDOK, video, display returned to true 32 bit colour. So I think it is EZDOK that is the problem will contact their support and hope they have a solution.. Thanks thefamilyman and gobz for sending their suggestions Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Problem with colours in FSX
Hi Familyman I checked that and it is set to 32 bit colour, and resolution is 1920x1280, so that is not the problem. All other programs run just fine it is only FSX. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Problem with colours in FSX
I would appreciate help with this problem, I experienced for the first time today. I am running FSX Sp2, my rig has 16Gb of DDR3 RAM, and the display card is a , Nvida 660 TI boost. No problem with video display in other programs. When I started FSX this evening, Everything was normal, except for the colours it displayed, it started in 16bit and not 32. I went in settings display, changed it back.to the normal 1920x1280 32 colours, which I use. restarted FSX, same problem.. Tried 3 times. Any simmers experienced this and if you have what did you do to fix problem. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Kalibra. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
