  1. Hi Scott: Is this just a stupid question but how about relocating the GTN to the real estate occupied by the radar, and relocate the radar display to the center console?
  2. Personally, I kinda like a bit of imperfection, if that is what it is, in these maneuvers. Especially the altitude captures and the bank angle losses. It makes me a more attendant pilot in planning my maneuvers to maintain stability, and stop the brandy snifters back aft from sliding off the tables. 🙂
  3. I'm almost starting to think that these artifacts are somehow related to ASN. Maybe some sort of conflict. I just went into KASE. Nice day. Ceiling around 15k. So at FL 430 I had the artifact from maybe 2 hours out. Pointing straight ahead. Clouds courtesy of REX and ASN far below. As I broke through on the approach there was no longer an artifact visible. Later a square shape appeared momentarily but the landing was uneventful and no more artifacts. I have never seen anything like this with any aircraft. The other day I went into KBHB with the Falcon and the approach was really cluttered with artifact junk. I began to think maybe my GPU was causing the issues. Maybe a driver problem or hardware. Who knows. But I then flew a long flight with the MADDOG MD 80. No artifacts, no issues. So it appears the artifacts are confined to the Falcon on my system. Strange,
  4. Hi All: This is FSX. Should have included that bit of information initially. I am consistently seeing an artifact at altitude projecting out of the cockpit out to infinity straight ahead. It seems black in color. I have a screen grab but have no way to post it on this forum. I have consistently seen this through several Beta releases. Also I seem to be flying around in company with the front wheel chocks. They follow me everywhere. Related to this there seems to be a connection between the light switches, specifically taxi, and the ground services. If I switch the taxi light on at altitude, like magic the chocks and engine covers appear. Lastly, I can't seem to operate the temperature controls for the cockpit or the cabin. We are freezing our butts off up here at 0 C, and the cabin is screaming for heat. I have tried all manner of Auto/Manual and clicking the switch. It seems to heat things up a bit but when I stop twitching, the temp drops rapidly back to 0. Great airplane!!! Really enjoying it. Rick
  5. I also use ASN. My feeling, again having done this with the Lear, is that this behavior has more to do with ASN than with the FDE for the aircraft. Of course someone may choose to comment on the FDE and how, as you suggest, it is affected by the OAT. I try to pick a reasonable N1/EPR anticipating temp increases/decreases, so I can step away from the sim to do whatever, then return for another adjustment. One flight awhile back with the Lear there was such a drastic change in engine parameters that we were very close to stall.
  6. Help!!! I seem to be trapped in what looks like a phone format for the AVSIM pages, even on my laptop. Can someone please advise me as to how I can return to the laptop format? Thanks Rick
  7. I believe this creep is related to the OAT. I find that after settling in on an airspeed at altitude the output of the engines will change as the OAT changes. So for instance, I often fly from NE to FL or the Carib. As we work our way down the coast the OAT changes and the throttles need adjustment. I learned this with the Lear. Aircraft with A/T account for this. Certainly the engine performance is affected by temperature but it will take someone with experience, such as Flightsimware, to weigh in on the modeling.
  8. We are going to have some fun with this bird....thank you FSW!!!!
  9. Hi all: I have been working with the Falcon, downloaded Version 3.1 today, and flew KPBI-KBOS. All went well and I must comment on some great things about the Falcon from an FSX pilot perspective: 1. Great frame rates 2. Minimal VAS hit 3. A beautiful aircraft, inside and out. I am looking forward to many hours in the air with this aircraft, as I did and continue to do with the Lear 35. The Falcon fills a hole I needed for a longer range bizjet. One question I have in 3.1 is something I noticed with the TCAS. As I departed the PBI terminal area there was lots of traffic, and one aircraft close enough to trigger a TCAS alert. At that point it seemed that the TCAS locked up somehow, the display turned red, and would not respond to attempts to change the range as I flew up the coast to Boston. The control was set on TA/RA.Could someone advise me as to my error in procedure, or is there an issue here. Thanks Rick
  10. Bill10, you nailed it!!!! It was FULL UHD COLOR was NOT enabled. Once I did that, bingo. I owe you a beer!! Thank you so much for weighing in. Rick
  11. Yes, I tried all three. I couldn't see any difference in the picture once they were set up the same. Certainly it made no difference at all with the RBG/Full range issue. Thanks anyway for the suggestion. Rick

So I went with a 43 inch Vizio "4K" 43D 2018 TV to replace. Hooked it up and mostly everything is good except for a couple of questions. These things don't come with much documentation and I've researched this on the web, but 2 questions still stand: 1. With my earlier Vizio when you launch the nVidia Display Manager, or whatever it is called, and open the page "Change Resolution", there were choice boxes at the bottom for color standard and the " Dynamic Range" on colors. Mine are stuck on AXZYMK or something like that, and "Limited". There are no other choices. On my other Vizio you could check RGB and "Full" and it made a huge difference in the picture quality. With this Vizio, that box is grayed out and stuck on "Limited". Any ideas on how to fix that? I forgot to add earlier, if I go to 30hz instead of 60 hz, the RBG choice and the Full Range choices appear, as if by magic! 2. The 43D has three HDMI ports. Can I assume they are all the same as far as picture quality goes? Thoughts? I am running 4920K oc'd to 4.5 and nVIDIA 970 GTX. Thank you in advance, Rick
  13. Getting there, step by step. Today I reached the point of taxiing to the active, ready to give it a go. However, holding short I tried to set up the AP for after departure. Well, I couldn't figure out how to set the heading bug for the active heading. Try as I may, it would not budge. I tried my yoke heading switch, clicking on the PFD and what looks like a small panel pops up but the heading bug would not move, and finally I tried the knob down on the center console labeled Heading just above the AP controls, and once again the stubborn bug would not move. Could someone please tell me where I am going wrong? Thanks all Rick
  14. Thank you for your help. I did go to my account and just accomplished the download. And it is nicely marked to show Beta 2.5 Thanks again.
  15. I am receiving emails telling me that 2 updates have been released on the Beta version. I have looked everywhere on the Flysimware web page with no luck. Could someone please post a link telling me where to download the newest version? Thank you Rick
  16. Their Lear 35 is my aircraft of choice now. Looking forward to the Falcon with the extended range.I am buying this minute.
  17. It's all about one's point of view. The veteran aviators who flew the BUF back in the day reminisce about how the aircraft performed so well, and are still performing. The young Lt copilot today is thinking about all the fresh new parts and structure enabling him to be safe.
  18. And not an original piece or part aboard.....
  19. I love the Warthog. The only warbird I was ever tempted to add to my fSX hanger.
  20. Thank you for your service Noel and thanks to all the BUFFs and crew who have defended our nation for so long.
  21. I've been waiting for the modernization of the Citation X for three years, or was it four? I was told it was coming....coming....coming..... Now with the FlySimWare Falcon on the near horizon, I'm afraid the Citation X will not have my attention any longer.
  22. Al: Thank you for this LUA file. It runs perfectly! I flew a 2-1/2 hr flight today with the Lear 35, calling up the LUA while on the tarmac. I entered 120 minutes, hit Enter, and off I went. I flew the TO and climb out, then went to do other things, checking every so often. 2 hours later, FSX paused, as expected. What a great little tool. Thanks again, Rick
