  1. All you need to do is hit shift+P and she'll back right up. Hit shift+P when you want her to stop.
  2. One can also depress the mouse wheel and rotate up or down to change altitude set by 100 ft increments. Personally, I prefer not to diddle with the keyboard and the mouse at the same time. Anti immersion:)
  3. TFDI runs an expansive forum where everything about the 717 is discussed out in the open, good and not so good alike. I suggest you gain access to that and you will be able to make your own judgement. I own the 717 and I like it but I run FSX so it brings limitations with it for that platform, notably it is VAS hungry. So when I do fly the 717 it is in and out of FTX freeware airports, FSX defaults sweetened up a bit with REX, and freeware regional airports. Also I operate in the Caribbean. In the meantime I am very busy with the MADDOG. :)
  4. I have a GTX Titan. Part of a new build in early 2014. Runs fine as far as I can see. Graphics are great in FSX.
  5. This did it for me!!! Thank you for checking in with this. What a relief. My MIA arrival went well and the ILS mode performed perfectly. Rick
  6. Awww Dave...I was in such a happy mood....:) But that is a good tip on the aircraft. Some add ons recommend loading a safe flight which includes one of the tricycles. I'll be sure to do as you suggest in the future. Rick
  7. Man, I am hoping this is the silver bullet. I was parked at the gate in BOS and I loaded the default Lear and, sure enough, the switch was in GPS. I had just hand flown the approach as the ILS function blew up. So I rolled it to NAV and closed FSX. Reopened and loaded the MADDOG. On the way to MIA to see if it works. Cross our fingers...:)
  8. Cool stuff. I can see a number of flights out of BGR, PVD, Cincy, ATL I used to be on ....
  9. Hi Michele: I have an open ticket that Davide is handling which may relate to this area. Rick
  10. If you go to the load manager/setup you will find a list of sounds and a tool to select the loudness of each sound. I found her and resisted the temptation to strangle her completely but left her at a whisper. She does have an important function, she just can do it without screaming :)
  11. For myself, I have never flown in the cockpit but I have flown many flights as pax in first class in 80 and 88 and I will tell you all I ever heard up there was a "ssswooossshhhh" which was a combination of flow noise and engine. Great ride up there.
  12. Brian: Could you please point me to these docs? I do not have them nor can I find them on the MADDOGX web page. Thanks Rick
  13. Ah, thank you Michele. That's what I expected but had not found in the docs. I don't have the "Procedures Guide" as Brian says above. Gotta go find it. Rick
  14. Hi all: A question on the Heading Select knob. There are two parts to this control. The larger knob is the heading select control. Rotating that control when the AP is in heading select mode causes the aircraft to turn to the selected heading. The inner knob controls the bank angle. There does not appear to be an "automatic" setting for the bank angle that would enable the AP to decide how much bank angle is needed for each turn. Is that correct and if so does the PF need to select bank angle continuously during the flight? Or does the AP do so automatically? Is there any speed restriction on bank angle? I don't see this discussed in the docs. Thanks
  15. Yes, mea culpa. The ticket screen grab is at CLT 18C. I did not make that clear and I apologize. OK, let the ticket work it magic. But it's worth noting that if FSX has a freq for an approach I hope that if that freq is dialed in to the NAV1 receiver, then the MADDOG will fly that approach frequency regardless of the AIRAC. Remember that most FSX installs haven't been updated since 2006 or so.
  16. Dave: As you can see on the pic, I was shooting 18C on that approach. FSX map function, LittleMap both say that freq is 111.30. Also the MADDOG FMS says 111.30 as well.......... BTW, I just shot RW11 at PWM. Same behavior. You line up a narrow intercept angle and she just doesn't turn......IMC too...but the aircraft is so well mannered in hand flying landing is pretty easy...
  17. Notice she's turning away from the localizer. Just keeps turning away.
  18. I think I did it, but not sure :) Wow...looks like I did!!!
  19. Please take a look at the ticket. There is a screen grab included. Perhaps you can find something wrong with my lineup but it is obvious that the aircraft did not capture the localizer.
  20. As you know, I am running FSX
  21. I am opening a ticket on this with a screen grab of the problem
  22. Yuk! Yes, 33L. 33R is a wee bit short ....:) Thanks
  23. Well, this latest was BOS runway 33. The localizer freq was correct in the MADDOG FMS and was the same as in the sim. I checked, as I always do as sometimes the FSX freq is different from the latest published freqs. And no, it did not capture the localizer, although she tried. The display looked right and the aircraft started the turn to capture but was unable. So she blew through the intercept heading and then was lost.
  24. Hi all: Let me begin by thanking the Leonardo team for their response on the brake issue. The latest version fixed the problem in my FSX. Works fine now. On another subject, I am seeing some difficulty with the aircraft capturing the localizer and tracking when on AP. It seems that she starts the turn but blows right through the capture heading, then she loses her way and heads off into nowhereland. So I kick off the AP and hand fly the approach. I have been using no more than a 30 degree angle on the intercept heading. I notice the yoke is thrashing back and forth without a lot of response from the aircraft. I did read in the manual that the real aircraft is sluggish at low speed, so this seems to be consistent. Usually I try to intercept the localizer at 160-180 kts with appropriate flaps so it is not real slow and I try to never exceed around 30 degrees. The AP seems to be doing all the right things but the controls don't seem to be able to keep up. Just me or anyone else?
  25. New version fixed my problem. Brakes and parking brake work fine now in my FSX. Great airplane.
