  1. sounds good for msfs, but not as good for boeing.
  2. aligning the both sims tiles set is not a bad thing and people, along with the game developer itself, in particular the third party developers will benefit it more than anyone else, the thing here is more that the aligned tiles quality is mostly real bad and the sim no longer supports 512x512 high resolution tiles as of SU16.
  3. for starters, you will never achieve the real-world tone in msfs, after the huge SU16 downgrade. I’d, however, recommend you increase green slider a bit with trial and error. not sure, tho, if it’s reflected realtime in the sim or you ought to restart the sim each time you have the slightest change in the mod settings. furthermore, instead of bing, you’d better try google’s free-stream which has better looking tiles around the world overall.
  4. It’s related to the zoom level (ZL) factor of the sim, or better call it a game now. It was ZL20 before SU16, now it’s ZL19 or lower.
  5. Some nerdy flight simmers can easily notice it, and it’s something technically proven by a world-famous third party developer when he published a changelog that stated the sim no longer supports hi res aerials just a few days before the SU16 official release.
  6. This is what I want too. But it would be quite naive to expect it from the devs, who haven’t yet made a single statement over their last downgrade called SU16 in weeks. Once an amazing flight sim, it is now officially turned into a game to please Xbox gamers.
  7. there are zillions of issues awaiting ms/asobo’s care, especially after the latest half-baked downgrade. i’m not sure such secondary stuff will get their attention to get fixed any time soon or ever.
  8. My answer to the topic titile : most probably not
  9. Hi folks ! I have come across a great real time flight connections map at http://www.flightconnections.com/ And thought AI traffic flight plans might be well applicable in a similar map, too. Do you guyz think any simmer had already given such a project a try ? Thanks !
  10. Thanks for such a swift reply. I agree with you on such a bmp should exist in either the main texture or effects texture folders. I actually use ENB Series but it has not changed the way gound shadows look. Maybe I can give SweetFX a try to see if it can handle for a more realistic shadow tone.
  11. Hi avsimmers ! I'm wondering if it could be possible to change the grayish ground shadow colors ( especially, of the aircraft ) in FS9 to a relatively more black tone ! Any comments would be much appreciated !
  12. I wanted to hear the touchdown sound coming from the gears and the wind. A32xx, thanks a lot. work by Airport Chat Developer Team worked like magic. I have modified the given improvement wavs to my liking, and every single AI landing now sounds as real as it gets.
  13. Hey simmers ! Is touchdown sound for AI aircraft possible, if so can you suggest any related downloads ? Thanks for any ideas !
  14. I guess it's obvious that I've already answered your question as to what my aim is here in my post above : However, you are quite within your right to find it pointless, whereas it's still quite meaningful to me.
  15. ACA2005 is already what I use as my database, if you have ever happened to read my posts above. What I actually aim to do is convert this data into a booklet like timetable for any airport and/or airline in pdf format. I have managed to do so by transfering the html database into Access and output a report, and finally saved it as pdf, as shown in the screenshot I have shared above. However, this process is much of a strenuous work to do for each airport of interest. I kinda ought to accelerate the whole procedure by creating a routine, in my humble opinion.
  16. Today I have made use of the ACA2005 timetable feature, that outputs an html database. I've then converted it first into excel to modify some of the data as day, time, aircraft type. Next, I've exported it all into access to work a report, even added a "save as pdf" button to my report and finally managed to save departures for LTBA as a single pdf file, in the format I like. However, the process is too lengthy for a single airport departure report. I desperately need an automated procedure for most of the time-consuming tasks, such as converting the day, time and aircraft type data into some meaningful strings. But still it's better than nothing. Here I am sharing a snapshot of what my pdf looks on its very first page : PS: ACA2005 timetable utility directly uses all the needed data from Traffic.bgl, as opposed to UT working with its own database and apf files that we add on. It also has got a local time option that can be chosen prior to outputting any departures or arrivals report for as long as the time zone of the airport of interest is accurately known.
  17. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. When it comes to my AI management of FS2004, my situation is quite the same as yours, Peter. Maybe it's UT that made me an AI Traffic freak. I also have already replaced almost all major FT aircraft on UT interface with fairly fancier and more up-to-date liveries basically drawn from WoAI readily compiled packages. Furthermore, I still continue adding some new airlines or those that UT ever lacked by use of import feature. Still, I thought there might be a better and more handy tool that is able to create a yet fancier and editable timetable report.
  18. Hey simmers ! One thing I have always desired to see in FS2004 has been the idea of a tool that converts any traffic bgl file into a UltimateTraffic like timetable in pdf, of course not the whole thing at a time but with options in terms of airport departures, arrivals, and airlines through call sign cached within aircraft.cfg files. I've so far come across ACA2005 only that at least gives out a timetable like file in html format for departures and arrivals of an airport of interest. But it looks rather bulky and like much of a list than a neat table. I guess all we need to do is write a routine as we already have all the data stored within traffic bgl, together with some airports and airlines databases maintained within the exe folder of my dreams. Just an idea ! Maybe one talented FS simmer could write such an exe code one day. Thanks !
  19. I guess I have just found the reason behind that bug : Checking the " ICAO code to airport " box brings about this error, when unchecked, the timetable for a particular airport comes without a problem.
  20. I was too looking for quite the same timetable utility as ACA2005 but I have got the exact same problem as you have with it, "Column 'From' does not allow nulls" It worked out only twice so far, without a problem, though, apart from that a stubborn bug.
  21. thanks forkedtail, your tip worked as a magic. just altering the dark full-window fs9 menu down to a tinier fs9 frame with active aircraft preview.
  22. Hi guyz ! Having upgraded to windows 10, all seemed to work fine with running FS9 except for the aircraft preview window on FS9 main start menu. It is currently a whole black screen as shown in the screenshot below, any ideas how I can revert the functioning aircraft preview on windows 10 ? Thanks in advance. Sarpis
  23. Hi folks, I have a rather sticky issue with the "seconds" created by TTools while compiling Traffic.bgl out of aircraft, airports and flightplans text files. for example : ,5/11:30:29,5/14:00:26, instead of a neat ,5/11:30,5/14:30, whereby 5 stands for friday and the rest are departure and arrival times, as most of us already know. Although I am able to remove the seconds that take place in most of the flightplans.txt files found here and there, by making use of the great tool "AI Seconds Remover" by Hamish Robertson, those bothersome seconds come back again upon compiling the flight plans and then decompiling Traffic.bgl using TTools. Any ideas how to fundamentally get rid of the "seconds" ? Thanks for taking your time to read.
  24. It happens at each and every airport/runway I start. I am right on the surface not under zero elevation. I guess my GPU has trouble handling the textures...so annoying to slowly find out that your so-called high-end laptop cannot handle P3Dv2.
  25. let me keep my thread vivid by replying myself in vain..
