August 15, 2025Aug 15 Today, August 14th the latest dev vlog came out but there was no mention of SU16 blurry textures, washed out colors and pop in LODs. Is Asobo aware of the problem even or they choose to ignore it. FS 2024 is broken mess and now they ruined FS2020 because they want to please Xbox people. Its ridiculous. Yes the performance is much, much smoother but at what cost.

I flew a YVR-PSP the day it came out and honestly the terrain and everything looked better than I remembered. are you talking about the Google mod or something? Because the base game isn’t broken from this update. If anything, it’s better.
August 15, 2025Aug 15 Sim is fine and looks amazing. Only issues I had was Nvidia driver causing ctd.
August 15, 2025Aug 15 No probs here - SU16 is working fine for me. It looks better than ever. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org

Yep I can honsetly say now that am running 2024 side by side with 2020 SU16, in many ways the 2020 imagery looks every bit as good as 2024 (not surpising as they are in fact the same). Obviously there are many other differences, but having been a simmer for 20 years, I really feel we've never had it so good. One example is Svalbard (around Longyearbyen - ENSB) which was a mess previously, is now vastly improved and looks amazing. Textures are crisp and sharp and LOD looks like it goes on and on (I'm running at 150).
August 15, 2025Aug 15 And what about this? EHAM and other airports have missing textures. Default airports, not addons. How they could release something like this after months of beta testing is beyond me. 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

I second the OP regarding some specific areas with terrain issues (bad colouring and/or blurry textures) that didn't exist before SU16. It's not general, but it certainly happens after SU16. Areas with issues (as an example): South Florida (near KTMB), Northern part of South America, and maybe more. If you refer by Google Mod to the Map Enhancement Tool, please note that you can select several different map options, not only Google, but new Bing (without Asobo colouring) and ArcGIS. Those three are for free. Paid options are numerous, and includes one (Mapbox) that seems to be very good. August 15, 2025Aug 15 Despite the accusations of some that things have been "dumbed down" for xbox, I'm just not seeing that. The places I've flown so far have universally been as good as or better than prior to SU16, colors are fine, and LODs are improved for me (of course, part of that is I'm using AutoFPS and due to performance increases I'm seeing I'm able to run higher levels than I was previously). Bottom line is that I don't believe the problems are systemic issues, but rather failures in quality in specific areas. That said, there are clearly areas where the imagery got worse, and in some cases significantly so and if you're flying in those areas I can understand the frustration. There are also quite obviously some glaring quality control issues in the release build, such as the obviously missing textures at default EHAM. So yep. Some fixes would be nice. Scott

August 15, 2025Aug 15 I am mystified by these comments about blurry textures in SU16, for me 2020 has never been better! With pin-sharp textures and no more discoloured squares, MSFS2020 looks and flies amazingly. Not sure what's going on out in the field's distance either with the red tiles.
