Keyboard and Response issue
I've recently upgraded to Windows 10 64-bit. I decided to install FSX and RC 4.3 as I haven't flown in quite a while. RC seems to be working however it can sometimes take 30 to 40 seconds after a key-press for RC to do anything. It seems like it just hangs. I don't know if this happens to be a Windows 10 compatibility problem or something isn't configured right. I'm using the latest registered version of fsuipc. I haven't been able to find any info regarding this problem. Any Ideas as to why this might be happening?

Taxi Gauge
I was never able to find the link i was at. I would just boot up in safe mode and try the normal proceedure then. Build button, update button , then build again.

I'm seeing if I can backtrack and find the link for you.

Jim....i've read that you need to edit your scenery config file if you have addon scenery to have the databases rebuilt propery. It involves copying all of the standard scenery entrys and putting them below the addon scenery and pasting them in there. Then rebuild. Make a copy of the original scenery.cfg and then revert to that when the build is completed. theres a post on the web regarding this....I read it but didn't capture the link. If i happen to stumble on it I'll post it in here. i've done allot of searching regarding this issue. I end up with 5 pages of links and apparently I never got to the the one you linked to. Crap....that would have saved me a couple days LOL. In any event. This was a pretty good addon for when it was done. I'm sure it took him quite a while to get it all working right. Actually a pretty nice job for a freeware. I normally use airport charts and look at the map then use the taxiway signs, but as I get older, either my monitor isn't good enough or my eyes are shot LOL. Thanks again.

Well i found a solution. I re-booted the computer up in safe mode. I then did a build which produced 0 airports again. I then did a update and then rebuild and got 24000+ airports in the database. Finally. It must be a permissions thing or the antivirus stuff is getting in the way and it doesn't turn everything off when you select the "OFF" option. Perhaps others could give this a try.

I got to thinking maybe mcafee antivirus was the problem but that wasn't it either.

Bob....That file worked fine. I'm now quite confused but glad it works. Thanks again. Now I remember why I liked this gauge so much. its easy to get a visual of what you will need to do to get to the runway or gate. This is what i used to use at night when i had a hard time reading the taxiway signs. Thanks again.

he could upload it to avsim or email it to us.

Hi Bob....I used this gauge several years ago and it was a great help at night. Its too bad he quit updating it. It was a nice tool.

Taxi Gauge
I'll have to look Bob....It was a new install so I would guess its right. I've also installed FS Rex, Rex Direct Textures and a couple other addons and they found fsx fine. I'll take a peak in the registry. Thanks

Taxi Gauge
I've tried with and without compatability. Full control is checked. I've run it as Administrator. I don't have my FSX in the default location. It says the build was successful but # of airports is 0. DB file is 1k. My guess is it may be related to the default location. When I had used this gauge in the past, fsx was in the default location I believe. since that time I built a new machine. Its really ok though...I have charts on my Pad and at night i open a top down view window to orient myself. During the day I just follow the taxiway signs.

Taxi Gauge
nope....didn't work. I was hoping that would do it. Hmmmf Are you running dbbuilder with any compatibility? I've tried windows xp sp3. Anyway....thanks for taking the time to try and help another thought....I don't have FSX installed in the default directory of C:\programfiles\ ect. I have it on my F: SSD drive. F:\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X. do you have yours in the default drive? It never asks me where its installed.

Wish I knew what the difference is between yours and mine. I've installed uninstalled reinstalled rebuilt the database but it says zero airports and displays nothing but the interface...no maps. I'm currently using airport charts on my pad and I open up a small top-down window in the sim so it works pretty good that way. I wish I'd thought of that way earlier before I went through all this lol. daytime isn't to much problem because you can read the taxi signs, but at night it can be hard.

Taxi Gauge
Hi....its been quite a while since i've posted. I recalled that several years back i had a taxi gauge that would show the layout of the airport with taxiways and also the Gate locations. It was called Airport Chart Gauge by Holger Maass. I recall using it for fsx a few years back. Since that time I had built a new machine and now have time to do more flying. I tryied to install this gauge that I downloaded here, and I'm able to call it up but it doesn't show anything at all. I knew I needed to do the build db and it said it was successful but when i call up the gauge it says FS X, but airports are Zero. The only difference that I can think of is that this is a Windows 7 Machine and is 64 bit. Does anyone have this working or can suggest something else that may work. I tend to fly to allot of different airports so I don't know the layouts. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

RC fly heading xx until suitable
This is just a heads op for people who have RC complaining that you are off the airway and fly heading xx until suitable. Its one possible problem to this issue. I'm sure others may know this but I thought it worth a mention and to save JD some typing I use a online service for flight plan generation. I use SimBrief.com. It is a very professional free planner. Anyway, I've had some problems since I've used this planner with a route that I always fly when I want a short hop. PHLI to PHOG (Hawaii). I use the Aerosoft Airbus and when simbrief generates a plan, it includes a VOR that is located at the airport. This causes you to fly a SID as part of your departure with RC as the first waypoint is inside 30nm. Anyway, I kept getting the fly xx until suitable even though I engage the Autopilot and FMC plan on departure. The Airbus appears to see that it is close enough to the 1st Waypoint which is that VOR and considers the 1st waypoint has been achieved and goes on to the next one right after you leave the ground. RC's window of achievement must be greater than that of the Airbus so it gets ###### you missed one of your waypoints and complains about it when your like 40nm out and wants you to turn around. Just a heads up for people who use FMC's and get this complaint. You may want to compare your RC flight plan and what your FMC thinks it is. It may be because of this.

Will We Ever See A 6ghz CPU?
Doug Moldenhauer replied to CFIJose's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcI thought I read that there was a issue with the dies getting so small that in the upper Ghz range they were having crosstalk on the data and address lines internally?

Please let the beatings begin! A rant.
I understand completely. I fly twice a week but I normally fly Corporate. But durring holidays the Pilots get extended time off so I'm forced to fly commecial. Im a fairly big guy, 230 Lbs 6' 1". I always end up flying with someone next to me who is much bigger and needs twice the room. I'm crammed into the window seat and we're shoulder to shoulder. Its almost always on a CRJ too LOL

Do you punish yourself if you crash?
LOL.......I'm still wipeing my eyes. Thats the funnyest ###### I've heard all week. LOL

PMDG 737NGX AP Limitations?
I had the same problem which I posted a few days ago. The autopilot never disconnected util I grabbed the yoke and tried to level it out. I didn't have gusts that I was aware of.....the wind speed was a quartering headwind 2 to 3 oclock at 80 to 85 kts.
-
Winds at Altitude Causing issue
Last night I was flying the 737-NGX from Elmyra Ny (KELM) to Lexington Ky (KLEX). I had a quartering Headwind from my 2:00 position at around 85 knots. The NGX was all over the place trying to follow the flight plan waypoints. I had to turn off the LNAV several times as the plane would apply so much aileron that the plane was about 50 or 60 degrees roll and I had to recover. I ended up climbing and decending a few thousand feet to find less wind. I ended up flying it on Heading Hold mode until I was decending then it appeared to be ok. Anyone seen anything like that before?
