  1. Hi everyone, I recently had my entire Community Folder Locked up. What I mean is that I am not able to move any files out of the community folder. All I can do is delete the directory/file inside the MSFS Community folder. Scenarios: 1) What if you want to move the addon/mod directory outside for example disabling the addon? Current methods of drag and move to different folder will not work. One will get this error (see Screenshot) 2) Want to copy the directory/file inside MSFS Community folder to outside location to create a backup -- Same error (see Screenshot) Current methods of copy to outside location will result in same error (See Screenshot) Your Best Option to move the directory outside the MSFS Community folder if some odd reason MSFS decides to lock everything up is to use the app Total Commander - grab the shareware app Total Commander (This app has been around is 1996 and is constantly being updated) I just selected the directory inside the MSFS Community folder and viola it moved the files without any issue. Regardless if you face lock issue with your Community directory (just Move them with Total Commander) and Symlink / Junction everything (I use LinkShell) --- just like Orbx Central app does. On Google - I do see few people get this situation and no one really knows (I even asked for help on MSFS Discord channel). PS - Here is a key feature of my setup - My entire MSFS is installed on a different drive from C:\ during MS Store install. It apparently still installs in C:\ but it is not really there. It creates a windows drive type installation on my other drive (H:\ in my example) - but Windows still sees MSFS is still installed in C:\ Have a great day. Skywolf

  3. I am excited for this release. Just don't get people complaining about it - either get it or don't. Complaining about it (when not owning it) is well...you get the picture...on where i am going with this. Access to these vintage birds is amazing. In few years, we won't even have access to these historical birds as the world would have moved on. I remember growing up, these birds were all over Europe. Experiencing it on a new Sim is great news for us all (Try it in VR) As of right now there are no F-28 in civil service. This is best way to experience it. Fokker F28 Fellowship - Wikipedia

  6. At one point it was 60 days (if memory serves me correctly), and then it went to 30 days and now it is 14 days. 14 Days is still a very good time frame to test out the product.

  8. My V6 is in holding period for me too. I am not wasting time with registry hacks and what not (I did that during v3 days). Only addon which has true v6 support is FSUIPC and FSDreamTeam has v6 installers (but they are not making anymore P3D sceneries). All my major airliners are for v5.4. I am fine with it. I am enjoying the other sim way too much.
  9. Hey everyone, Before I do a quick dive into my initial reactions, let's keep the replies constructive. I have fairly old system (to be honest, it really is keeping well with all the sims including VR on Quest 2 -- there is a reason for this, but that is conversation for another day). It does appear that P3Dv6 is using an improved mesh (would like others to chime in). It does have VRR (Variable Refresh rate, won't apply to my use) and other all sorts of graphics settings like TAA, SSAO, Custom Tone Mapping, Cubemap Reflections, Planar Reflections etc. Heck you can talk in VR to reset the view by voice (Learning Center has new things listed in it). SDK is amazing.... Default Flight I ran a default flight from KDCA (my hometown area yay) on the F-35A and I changed the settings very little from default. Changes were Texture Filtering to 16x, Texture Resolution to 4096, and Frame rate to Unlimited. FPS was close to 60 on my 60hz monitor. Vram was very high as 4.9 gb used out of 7.1gb (P3Dv5.4 is slightly less). This is DX12, LM should allow DX11 as DX12 is still half baked (you know even in MSFS2020 DX12 doesn't work well). Third Party Addons Only Addon I installed was Majestic Q400 as the installer has P3Dv6 in it (you still have to find the location yourself when installing). Well, Trueglass didn't work --- no water on cockpit windows. I could not see the fms showing up data but the plane booted up fine etc. Conclusion: P3Dv6 is really designed for proper procedural training now. With most of the main players not really developing for v6, it is understandable. Sure, you can registry hack lot of things. But I just don't pay for addons, I pay for official support period. No support, I am not buying that is it. I wish LM had released this version as 5.4 or even 5.5 and a bit earlier. It is a rock-solid release, and I am keeping it but I also have all the other sims on my hobby computer. Looks like the majority of the P3D third-party addon developers will pause at P3D5.4, and maybe things change in the future... PS - I really hope there can be officially G1000 based GA aircraft (steam gauge is fine too) that work with Nav Updates from Navigraph and I can use it with my PPL training. As of right now I did one of my final P3D purchases (FS2Crew FSX/P3D All Access Pack for 29.99 Euros - it has FSX MD-11 and JS41 which I have too lol) and I will see how the FSLabs Concorde is. I have tons of stuff for P3Dv5.4 which will keep me busy for quite some time. End of an era...but the next era is just starting always keep that in mind
  10. VR will be better in v6 vs v5 (I will be testing it tonight...installing v6 as I write this post). I hope they can release v6 with it. They haven't released right now (so FSLabs can make an update to it, what if the changes are not bad as one imagined). And does anyone know if the Maddog is version tied to v5? I hope they do v6.
  11. If CP can't do it. I am gonna place bets on OpusFSI (maybe that team can do it) or someone else is going to create it (provided the market demand is there). I am preplexed with FSLabs P3Dv5 Concord. Why not do it for v6. Concord should be on the latest greatest P3D version (new features); for me to buy a new addon and the latest sim isn't supported, doesn't gel with me. Now I am sure they had access to dev beta releases from LM.
  12. I saw this on release notes Enhanced Flight Planner screen supporting the addition of SIDS and STARS to flight plans. Does this mean Navigraph can potentially update the sim’s internal navdata (this will be excellent news)
  13. I will test v6 tomorrow night. From what I can tell Orbx openLC isn’t needed. Is Orbx Global even needed now. Apparently the sim has hi res textures now. Very confusing
  14. Actually got the Arrow III for now...I am doing courses on PE, and for now I want to go slow a little..Looks great in VR so far. Excited to see your mods Robert
  15. Well this is an opportunity for some new player to make something so good (way better than pmdg) that works in p3dv6 and they can corner the market.
  16. Well, they are out of P3Dv6 for now (it will be a long wait anyway; atleast we don't have to keep any hopes up for it anyway. I appreciate their straightforward honesty). But it would be nice if they can just release a P3Dv5 installer for DC-6, the darn thing is still stuck on p3dv4 (come on PMDG)
  17. How is this mod coming along? I am also debating which JF bundle to get? should I just get the Turbo Arrow Package? or the combo or even the Warrior. 3 choices...I just need 1 plane.... Would love suggestions from IRL pilots (I intend to fly the plane only in VR with Quest 2)
  18. I hope LM makes a new sim like MS did. I need backward compatibility to go away. Holding on to the past sucks for this long. They can run 2 branches. One for V6 and V7. Time will tell. This is the golden age of simulation.

  21. I am super excited for this release, as this release allows some unique simulation products to be created on this platform. Obviously P3Dv6 is testing ground to P3Dv7 Unreal version. See here Prepar3D V6 To Release This July - FSNews Straight quote from the link "However, there is hope. Lockheed Martin has partnered with Unreal for all of its simulation tools. This partnership has not played any part in the development of Prepar3D V6. However, there is the possibility of a whole new P3Dv7 running on Unreal Engine. This could rocket the Prepar3D product back into the limelight. Time will tell."
  22. MS used that is marketing term. Plane AI right now is not self learning.
