Got the Photoshop demo and thinking of buying but have a couple questions.
Hi Warbirds, I have Photoshop CS3 and can (and do) open whole folders at a time. Have had at least 50-60 images opened at once. Seems a weird thing to limit in a demo version.

Saitek Radio and Multi panel LCDs problem
Couple of issues I have ran into regarding Saitek stuff. 1) Saitek units do not like USB 3.0. If you have 2.0 ports use them. 2) Use a powered USB hub (preferably use USB 2.0) 3) for some reason I have had strange issues kind of like what you describe after disconnecting / reconnecting the units if I do not restart the computer right after I power up the computer for the first time. Good luck

How to enjoy FSX
1. If you want a challenge maybe try using fsrecorder. Record a flight and then play it back as traffic. You can do follow the leader or practice formation flying. Heck you can do this multiple times and be your own flying team! 2. Try some bush flying. Try and find unusual and challenging places to land. I managed to put the A2A cub on some crazy mountaintops. The stock cub is fun too. 3. I like to crank up the weather and lower the visibility and do some really exciting ILS approaches. 4. Pretend to be a different kind of pilot. Sometimes I will pretend I am piloting a parachute jump plane. I will add the passengers and try to get to 12500 feet as quickly as possible then position the plane above the airport, I will then remove the passengers and get back down as quickly as possible (sometimes spinning the airplane down) only to do it again. How many can you do in an hour? Ever try crop dusting? Way harder than you think. Use the Extra 300 and simulate using smoke. If you like it, there are crop dusters out there you can purchase. 5. Helicopters are a challenge. 6. Practice emergencies. Add some failures and see how you do. 7. Try getting from point a to point b with just enough fuel. Maybe add some headwinds and see if you can make it. Deal with it if you don't. 8. Try flying through the blimp hangars at Moffett field in northern California. There are two of them and you can do a circle race through both of them. 9. Try racing at Reno. 10. Fly around the world. Maybe with one airplane. Maybe using different airplanes for each of the legs. The world is your oyster. Hope that helps in some way.

will PMDG have a black Friday sale?
I suppose everyone knows this but just in case... The reason it is 'black' is because that one day, apparently, gets the retailers books out of the red. - Knowledge is Power! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I sure have much to be thankful about.

Need help from a pc guru please
Auralumin replied to 737727Nut's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcHmm. I guess I would start by looking at SLI. I think P3D V2 does not play nice with SLI and may have disabled it. Possibly this caused some wierdness? Good luck.

Trimming and how it is done.
My philosophy regarding trim is this: Trim is used to reduce pilot fatigue by reducing the need for control input once establishing stable flight. That means getting your power settings and aircraft attitude more or less settled before trimming regardless of climb, cruise, or decent. Attempting to trim while not in stable flight often results in chasing the trim and adding to the workload instead of reducing it.

What kind of GA pilot are you?
I like it all! Here are just some of my favorite things to do: Load up the Twotter with little gas and lots of skydivers and do a maximum turning climb to 13000ft. Line up and then change the load to simulate them jumping. With a now very light airplane I move a safe distance from the divers and spin the airplane down and do a short field landing... all to do it again. Load up some serious weather at night. Now fly that light plane to a remote strip of your choosing to drop off supplies or p/u an injured person and get them to civilization. I use fsrecorder to record an unusual demonstration. Sometimes I am "Dukes over Miramar" or "The Skymasters" and I will record a flight that usually incorporates high and low speed passes and maybe a loop. Then I play as traffic and record a second plane in formation until I have a 'team'. A good tip is to fly that first one very smoothly never using full power or quick throttle changes. I have a routine I am perfecting to demonstrate the Twin Otter capabilities as if in front of an airshow crowd. I am also planning a around the world flight to complete at my leisure. I use Ideal flight software for planning sometimes.

VRS F/A-18 worth buying?
I purchased the Superbug many moons ago. I still fly it regularly. The fact that it is still flown often is the best recommendation I can give. Buy it, you will like it I think.

A2A Cessna 172 now available
I have the yoke/pedals, two throttle quads, switch panel, the radio stack and two FIP's going right now. I use Prepar3D and SPAD drivers for radio/switch and saitek drivers for the FIPs. I made no changes before flying the new 172. There are a couple of things I have run into and have done nothing to try and fix: 1: master switch inop (bet it is a mapping thing) 2. Radio stack / switch panel worked perfect first time, second time, however, they were disconnected. Reloading airplane fixed the issue and has not happened again. That is it so far. Grinning from ear to ear!

A2A Cessna 172 now available
Funnier still, my first landing outside KMYF was KSEE. Are we neighbors? I live in UC. Howdy!

A2A Cessna 172 now available
Man oh man she's a beauty! Did the standard walk around then started her up in front of the hangar at KMYF. She handled the taxiway like the real thing does. During the run-up I caught myself looking for the carb heat. Sounds during the run-up put me right there. The sounds are great, very realistic. Once that was complete we lined up and shot down 28L. A couple of times around the patten proves to me that A2A has created an amazing thing here. So far I have not seen anything negative to report on and plenty I like. The map and manual (with checklists) are right there in the door pockets and appear in non obstructive pop-up windows. I really like these features. I Had high expectations and they have been exceeded only a few minutes in. Kudos to A2A on another fantastic product.

NEW PMDG FACEBOOK UPDATE !
I dunno... I think the whole post eludes to the A2A 172. You see the airliners are already off the runway and the 172 needing only a portion of it has already taken off and provided us with the snapshot. Clearly this post says the A2A 172 is ready for release.

The lotto helped with this build
Hello Avsim! Having been an aviation nut my whole life the flight simulator experience has always had a facination for me. I played with flight simulator since FS9 right up to FSX and as of last night Prepar3D. All these years I have had a casual relationship with the software (and associated hardware). However, about a year ago I decided to get serious about my hobby. I decided to spend a disproportionate amount of my income to enhance my enjoyment. I convinced myself that the money spent would be worth it and opened my wallet. Firstly I needed some hardware. After much research I ordered the parts and built the best thing my budget would allow: Motherboard = ASUS Maximus V CPU = i7 3770k Gfx = EVGX GTX-660 Memory = 16gb Corsair Dominator (2x 8gb) HDD = C300 SSD Pwr = Antec 750 Gamer (and their 900 black case to house everything) Of course I needed the cockpit hardware too so I did more research and decided to go with the Saitek brand because: bang for buck. So I ordered the yoke & throttle package along with the rudder pedals. I had always used a single joystick for control and this was heaven. Here is a pic of my modest setup just after above purchases: Notice the plastic thingee behind the wood desk? That is a lottery kiosk that I had somehow obtained and was using as a desk/workstation. More on that later... So using the yoke a pedals made such a big difference, I decided I would get more of their stuff. As quickly as I can afford it (or not afford sometimes) I buy their stuff. Now I have the radio panel, the switch panel, a second throttle quadrant, and four of their flight instrument panels. I found out this is too much for one computer so I added a Dell Inspiron 530 to drive two instruments and will likely add more computers to assist. Thinking about visuals, I was convinced I would get Track IR to help with looking around when my local Fry's had a sale. Now I have a multi-monitor setup. I (want to) believe this has to be superior to Track IR. O.k. turns out I am building a cockpit! So I have all this stuff but how do I mount it all? I look at the lottery kiosk and think hmmmmmm, that just might work! So I broke out the jig saw and my imagination and ended up with this: Wrapped the whole thing in blackout cloth (2X @$20 each @wallyworld) which made a world of difference for immersion and glare! Cover your sims people!!! I am going to build a reconfigurable cockpit at some time in the future, but for now this is working out great and sure impresses the folks who see it for the first time. The monitors are too high and close for the instruments but all-in-all it works for me. I hope you all enjoy hearing about one simmers experience and would be happy to share my experiences further if there is interest. Thank you. Auralumin

Your last 5 add-on purchases
Hello All, I have been on a binge lately... 1. OrbX Global = very happy with purchase 2. Aerosoft Twin Otter = Oh, how I love this one! 3. PMDG 747-400x = Getting some tube liner chops to get ready for the 777 (I like) 4. Just Flight's L1011 Tristar = got it for $5 with my saved points! Pretty cool machine. 5. Flight1 Citation Mustang = want to learn the G1000 and am happy with purchase (also bought their B-200 King Air and Carenado's C182T for a variety of G1000's to try and I like them all) Not to sound overly enthusiastic about my purchases... After maybe one (or two) too many adult beverages I purchased Captain Sims 777. I did this after reading the reviews. It was on sale and it was only $10. I say to myself "how bad can it be?" and pull the trigger. To keep this story short, I have a new 'worst developer' podium spot in my brain. I cannot believe after all these years as undisputed champion, Abacus has been dethroned. One last purchase I would like to mention, made last night and not an add-on. I finally got myself a copy of Prepar3D. Think I may switch for good... much testing needed. :-)

What's Wrong With People On The Internet?
Evolution. We are still fighting with our own selfishness. It's why many put their and others lives at risk just to get the pole position at a red light. This was a good trait when it was needed for survival. Now that it is not so much we may evolve that out of our DNA. That takes a loooong time. Meanwhile, just enjoy the ride and realize it is nature.

To Realair Simulations
Easily the most flown in my hangar are both of the RealAir Dukes. I have plenty of competition in there too. Superb job all around. This add-on should be considered a required purchase for all. Thank you RealAir and thank you again!

Fast and easy GA plane
I am a fan of the Carenado 337. I am falling in love with Aerosoft's new Twotter. Both RealAir Dukes get lots of my airtime. That is my top 3 at the moment. As for the A2A Mustang, very far from easy. Awesome yes, easy no. I would say money spent on any of the above will likely be well spent. Did I mention the twin Otter? :-)

I am about to cry.............
Hiya, If the HDD is the problem all may not be lost. Here is what I would do: Attach a new, same size or bigger, HDD to the system via a USB HDD enclosure. Get Acronis true image software on a disc and boot said computer into Acronis using this disc. Then clone the old drive to the new drive. If your HDD is failing this may not work or may take a really long time to complete. If it works you have a complete bootable copy of your HDD. Nice thing to have when you need it in any case. I do this after my software install is complete then put it on the shelf just in case. The above troubleshooting ideas are good ones. Good luck

Advice on Friends Computer Build
Auralumin replied to James Driscoll's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcHi, I recommend the Antec 900 black case. Really really great airflow and usb 3.0. Cable management is somewhat tight but worth the tradeoff. I went with the CoolerMaster TPC-812 heatsink and get excellent temps with an aggressive overclock (4.7Ghz) on a 3770k CPU. You want a 'k' processor btw.
