The Best Freeware Airports and Scenery for FS9

Hello all, Just came across this topic today, and wanted to announce the release of a long-awaited freeware scenery for FS9. ‘Our’ new Santiago de Compostela LEST 2018 scenery. (Incl. 4 seasons Photoreal Terrain of the whole center area of Santiago de Compostela and its amazing surroundings) For this great freeware scenery i teamed up with the great scenery developer Serge Libon and we worked many, many months together for the fantastic result that we have released a few days ago on AVSIM only, and has reached nearly 500 downloads in less then 4 days! Hereby the download link: https://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=203762 i hope you all enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it... FS9 is still alive! Cheers, Diego

Hoow to load the PSS/POSKY merge 777

Hi, i know this is a very old issue/topic, but.... My only option is, (although not realistic) after i "load" the PSS777 via the loadmanager, copy the desired 'Load' lines in the aircraft.cfg to the POSKY777 aircraft.cfg, overwriting what is there. (Always backup your original Posky 777 aircraft.cfg!) This Works for me as close as possible. I'm trying to see if there is a way to program a batch file (.BAT) that copies a certain text within a file to a certain place within another file and overwrites it. This would be easier, as you can load your Merged 777 with 2 clicks: * Click SAVE on the PSS777 Loadmanager to save your data. * Then Click the .bat file to copy this data to the desired POSKY777. This will probably require 2 .bat files, 1 for POSKY777-200LR and 1 for POSKY777-300ER. (.cfg files are nothing else tan renamed .txt files, which if opened with the comando "Rightclick > Open with..." should be normally available.) Since i'm quite new with Batch processing it's gonna be a long search for that answer, i guess... If anything new pops up on this question/answer, i am curious too hear it too....

The Ultimate PSS 777 FDE Tweak

Hello dear Tri Wasono, I've been lately experimenting some problems on my PSS/POSKY 777 Merge, and saw your post with the great Ultimate PSS 777 Tweak from a few years back. Unfortunately, it seems the rapidshare link is down and i could not find it anywhere else on the web. :-( Would you be so kind to share your Ultimate Tweak with me, so i can try it out for myself? I mainly have issues during "rocketing" take offs and "strange" and "inaccurate" ils landings, mainly due to the aircraft going nose up and down during the approach, although correctly configured at Vref + 5. I hope these get solved by your tweak, cause that's all i need to successfully land and finish my flghts correctly. :-) Thanking you so much in advance, hoping you still are in our community, God bless, Diego

The Ultimate PSS 777 FDE Tweak

Hello dear simmers, I've been looking all around the library for all possible PSS 777 files, but did not found the FDE Tweak, and as mentioned by other users, unfortunately, the link is down. Also the link to singaporevirtualairlines.org is down. (I do hope the original user is still around and able to upload this tweak again.) I'm trying to fetch this to try it with my Curimedia PSS+Posky merge 777, as it needs some tuning. Thanks in advance for any feedback, i'd love to be able to obtain this great tweak.

    Compatibility Aerosoft Maastricht X + NL2000

    Nobody any idea?
  9. Hello dear flightsimmers, Is there anyone around that has been able to make Aerosoft Maastricht X (FS2004) compatible with NL2000? Are there some files to add/remove to use the photoscenery of Aerosoft without NL2000 bleeding through or without "MESH" issues? Never really had issues with NL2000, and since EHAM is my both VA's HUB, (and EHRD/EHEH both focus cities) it is a must-have, i really love it. I know there was a solution for Aerosoft EHAM + NL2000 and i applied it succesfully after a few tries. It Works flawlessly since then. Since the NL2000 EHBK is low-quality (though NL2000 EHRD and NL2000 EHGG are nicely modelled) i decided to install aerosoft Maastricht X, which i like very much. Just this one issue is still luring round the corner, and i cant seem to find the solution. Although i am quite capable of finding self-solutions for many FS9 issues, i sometimes need some help from my co-simmers, like this time for example. :-) Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.

    No payware quality HECA airport?

HI all, Texture bleeding problems at this Freeware HECA are to be solved (at least in FS2004) by placing this flatten file accordingly below the HECA entry in your scenery.cfg : (just below the "Local=" line) Flatten.0=382,N30 05.50,E31 24.15,N30 07.35,E31 26.35,N30 07.10,E31 26.50,N30 05.35,E31 24.40 For the Terrain flattening, specially at the newer runway 05R / 23L, you ALSO need (again, at least in FS2004) a good flatten file. This Flatten file NEEDS to be placed in a layer BELOW the Cairo 2011 Scenery. (lower number.) Example:. My Cairo 2011 Scenery has Area and Layer nr. 339, so the FLATTEN file is copied into a new folder with just a SCENERY folder inside, and the Flatten file that i will give you below, as Area and Layer nr. 338. (IF you have Scenery Config Editor, you will see it the other way around. Cairo 2011 has (for example: Priority 680, and your Flatten layer should have priority 681, which gives it a lower priority, thus doing the same effect as what i mentioned before.) Link to the Flatten: FS9: http://www.solidfiles.com/d/817beb8c74/DB_HECA.BGL FSX: http://www.solidfiles.com/d/151e0ce9fa/DX_HECA.bgl To download, click the green download button. Just to remind you all: in FS2004 you need BOTH of these fixes, for the airport to show correctly without terrain and runway problems, only 1 of the both solutions will not work! Thanks, hope it works, enjoy,

fs2004 hangs after MOD RTE in FMC

I own also the PSS 777, and i'm bumping again exactly the same issue. As soon as you add more than 2 speed or altitude constraints in the FMC, FS2004 hangs. No CTD, no OOM, simply its frozen. I have both SP1 + SP2 installed, and i'm still faced with this annoying issue. I ask myself, if after so many years, there is a fix for this or still not... Does anyone know anything that can be done? Please share if possible. Thanks! I own also the PSS 777, and i'm bumping again exactly the same issue. PSS 777-300ER American Airlines New Livery

So, I managed to modify and improve these textures quite a bit, specially the tail. Main Fuselage remained intact, since there's no proper way to modify them correctly. All Credits go to the Original Painter Randy Tyndall. Check them out HERE under these button:

PSS 777-300ER American Airlines New Livery

Hi, i actually tried this one, but "American" is too small, not to scale and the tail is permanently blurred out. (The original texture is also like this). Any chance on a recheck / another American NC Livery?
  14. Hello, I know this is not a too recent post, but anyway i'll post here one of the things to try out in case that it is 100% certain that there is a Feelthere Gauge causing a CTD... (It can also be a bad format texture, in this case find "dxt3fixer" or "dxtfixer" and let it run on the Feelthere folder where the suspected texture/repaint is, but if you feel this might be a Feelthere Gauge CTD, please continue reading:) Have a look in: ...\Flight Simulator 9\FeelThere\Airbus\FMGC and then into the folder of the Airbus you where recently flying. (A320 / A330 or A340) Every one of these folders contains a "fmgc.cfg" file that basically holds all the MCDU/FMC info, and normally, after a flight, it gets "empty" automatically. (not completely though, as your about to find out...) If this "fmgc.cfg" file is around 7-8 kilobyte (and not like around 400/500 bytes only as this should be) than this "emptying process" went corrupt at shutting down the Airbus after a flight. This can also occur in midflight, taxiing or even taking off... what matters is that the information in the start-up of the Aircraft, and thus also the MCDU/FMC, corrupts with what is inside the "fmgc.cfg" file. What is the solution as to fight this issue? (I take no responsiblities, this worked for me, it MIGHT work for you...) To reset this information! First make sure that your FS2004/FS9 is closed and not running in Windows Task Manager, as this could give File Access errors. Now follow very precisely everything i write down below: Open the culprit "fmgc.cfg" file with Notepad, (rightclick, Open with...) delete any text or info written inside this file, and insert following info: (This is my personal info from my FS9, but at least it gets you to open and fly the Wilco Airbus again, after you can modify this via the FMC/MCDU and by going into the Wilco Airbus Configurator and planning a new flight from scratch) For the Airbus A320 "fmgc.cfg" file: [MCDU] CoRte= FlightNumber=IBE9000 [FMGC] FlightPhase=1 FMSFlightPhase=1 IRSAlignment=0 DeltaLat=0.000000 DeltaLon=0.000000 ZFWCG=25.00 ReductionAltitude=3498 ReductionAltitudeGenerated=1 AccelerationAltitude=3498 AccelerationAltitudeGenerated=1 TransitionAltitude=18000 TransitionAltitudeGenerated=1 [Flight Plan] AIRAC-Cycle=1404 NumberOfWaypoints=0 NextWaypoint=0 DepartureIndex=0 ArrivalIndex=0 For the Airbus A330 "fmgc.cfg" file: [MCDU] CoRte= FlightNumber=TAM8012 [FMGC] FlightPhase=10 FMSFlightPhase=8 IRSAlignment=0 DeltaLat=0.000000 DeltaLon=0.000000 ZFWCG=25.00 ReductionAltitude=1528 ReductionAltitudeGenerated=1 AccelerationAltitude=1528 AccelerationAltitudeGenerated=1 TransitionAltitude=18000 TransitionAltitudeGenerated=1 [Flight Plan] AIRAC-Cycle=1404 NumberOfWaypoints=0 NextWaypoint=0 DepartureIndex=0 ArrivalIndex=0 For the Airbus A340 "fmgc.cfg" file: [MCDU] CoRte= FlightNumber=AFR3510 [FMGC] FlightPhase=10 FMSFlightPhase=8 IRSAlignment=0 DeltaLat=0.000000 DeltaLon=0.000000 ZFWCG=25.00 ReductionAltitude=1892 ReductionAltitudeGenerated=1 AccelerationAltitude=1892 AccelerationAltitudeGenerated=1 TransitionAltitude=18000 TransitionAltitudeGenerated=1 [Flight Plan] AIRAC-Cycle=1404 NumberOfWaypoints=0 NextWaypoint=0 DepartureIndex=0 ArrivalIndex=0 You'll see that once you save this file again as a "fmgc.cfg" file, the size will be around the mentioned 400/500 bytes only, and you can safely close the folders, once everything is edited. Now open up again your FS2004/FS9 and try it out... It should work as good as possible! Just like before... As i know, this has been one of the most famous CTD from the Wilco Airbus family, and not even after the Evolution version this was solved. Note, this is a DIY Workaround, not an official fix. This type of CTD occured to me a couple of times, and i always keep a backup of the "Flight Simulator 9\FeelThere\Airbus\FMGC" folder, so in case this happens, i can copy over the faulty "fmgc.cfg" file. Enjoy your flights, and please do let know of this was usefull to anyone out there... Sure i'm not the only one with trouble with Wilco Airbus.... Greetings, Diego.

    VTBS by Armi

or add this FLATTEN in your scenery.cfg: Flatten.0=5.0,N13 39.15,E100 45.32,N13 39.55,E100 43.65,N13 42.90,E100 44.76,N13 42.54,E100 46.30 (Should look like this: [Area.810] Title=VTBSarmi_tic Layer=810 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE Local=Addon Scenery\VTBSarmi_tic Flatten.0=5.0,N13 39.15,E100 45.32,N13 39.55,E100 43.65,N13 42.90,E100 44.76,N13 42.54,E100 46.30 So the flatten text gets copied right at the bottom of the VTBS airport entry) It worked for me, and have both VTBD and VTBS crowded with traffic. (Mostly VTBS, but some low-cost stayed at VTBD)
