  1. Open your control panel and go to “uninstall programs”. Scroll down to your client, select, and there should be an option to repair once highlighted.
  2. I would suggest checking out PTA or wait until Envshade is released. PTA allows you to make serious modifications to the way your sim looks and lots of uploaded their .ini files so you don't even have to do much of the work. Check out this site for additional tweaks: http://1coder.ru/SKY/downloads.html
  3. Ah ok. I feel like there is so little we actually know or can do to the default ATC because of the coding. I wish we could just have software that replicated real world ops without all the hassles.
  4. If you’re talking about VOX, you can request a different runway. All you have to do is get your tax clearance and then after you read back the original, just as for “callsign request taxi to runway xx”. That works for me almost every time as long as it lines up with weather.
  5. I would honestly suggest getting PTA over ENVTEX. Only major thing is you will have to make more changes yourself with PTA over envtex. But with those changes, you get get it looking exactly how you want it. I would only get precipfx for the contrails (unless you want to purchase individual aircraft effects also). The default v4 rain, like mentioned above is fine. They haven’t really updated anything in precipfx in a while and according to their forum, they don’t plan to. But it is hard to compare the two because they don’t do the same thing.
  6. I am curious if there is a way for the software to select the most appropriate runway based on the gate the aircraft is located at. I am tired of having to taxi sometimes 10-15 min around the airport when there is a runway within a few minute taxi. I usually have to request a different runway based on where I am at, but I am mainly asking about AI. At airports with multiple runways, it seems that VOX always chooses to either send AI to the furthest away, like at KDFW (35R) for takeoff or like at LAX when the want all aircraft to take off 25R and everything on the north side has to taxi around the airport. Both these airports I am using FSDT and when I use the default ATC, it works properly sending aircraft to appropriate runways. I rarely get multiple runway ops also, which I would like to change. I really don't want to have to edit the AFCAD if possible because I am not very familiar with ADE software. I haven't seen any settings that would help fix this either. I sure wish the developer would put a little more effort into checking out some improvements to their software as well as answering requests from users.
  7. Somehow, someway, I finally got a dual overcast sky while flying in P3D using SF engine. I tested both AS and REX engines and I have to say, the REX engine actually was more accurate in my opinion of real world conditions. Plus, it looks great. I did have a minor issue with the injection of weather where it took all my clouds out for one injection, but after reinjecting weather, it came back looking good as ever. Not sure why it took everything out. Shot is over Wichita, KS. Only thing that would have made it better is if the ground textures would have snow on them, like in real life. Bonus: Heading south from Seattle to San Francisco. REX SF is starting to grow on me. Some tweaks with the engine, and the software should be golden.
  8. It isn’t a REX issue that I’ve noticed. It happens when certain edits are made to the cloud.fx file, which I don’t think REX touches. It happened to me right after I made changes through PTA, which I think is the culprit. Deleting it and repairing the Client fixes the issue very easily.
  9. Delete your cloud.fx and run the repair for your P3D client. It should take less than two minutes to fix. I had run into the same issue yesterday.
  10. Nice post about SF and AS. At first, I thought it was pretty much a rip off for SF because I couldn’t see anything groundbreaking about it. I was and still am a bit disappointed in how you can see those spinning clouds. But after doing several flights, I am starting to enjoy it. Even though there technology is groundbreaking, they are still severely limited as to what they can to by P3D itself. While LM has been slowing upgrading P3D, the core of the sim is still based on FSX and very old coding. I think the REX team could do a lot more with a new sim because of the new technologies that are out there. For now, I completely agree with you that AS engine and SF textures are the way to go. I think for me, the greatest issue I have with SF right now is the redraw and weather injects. It’s like the weather literally changes every 15 min with types of clouds, if it is raining or not, and other stuff. Yeah, it is easy for us in the community to be nit picky because things don’t look a certain way, but trying to find the best alternative on what to use is part of the fun too.
  11. As much as I hate to say it, SF is a pretty big let down IMO. While the textures may be somewhat improved, I don’t really see anything “revolutionary” about the software. I have been a huge REX fan since the beginning and when I saw this being developed, I thought this would be a game changer. You would think after rebuilding the weather engine from the ground up, they would figure out how to get rid of spinning 2D textures, but that apparently is still a thing. I think it is partly due to the limiting factors inside P3D itself. I bet if they were able to build this for XP11 that it would be a lot better. Hopefully soon, they will iron out all the bugs and prove that this is the software to beat. For now, I will use the textures but AS for the engine. Good comparison of the three.
  12. There is not a model that works in v4 that has been released yet. Read the last page on the link you posted. As of December, it has not been released yet. Only the FSX compiled one has.
  13. The Raven embraers are visible in P3D v4, however, they aren't optimized for it, and they don't completely work. There is no gear visible, and most of the time, the tail isn't visible either. Hopefully, someone that knows how to optimize it for v4 will do that soon.
  14. As far back as I can remember, this has been happening. Seems to only happen with payware airports, at least on my system.
  15. I am not sure what is going on or why it is happening all of a sudden, but my VC panel disappears as well as all outside graphics just after takeoff. I first noticed it with PMDG 737, but then I tried with default aircraft and it happened too. The panel just simply disappears and all other views are not visible except for the 2D Panel texture. I have not changed anything since my last successful flight before the holidays, the only addition is REX SF 3D. I have deleted my .cfg and shader files also just to see. Everything works fine on the ground, just once airborne, they vanish. Honestly, I am getting tired of having more issues than I fix. More of my time is spent troubleshooting issues in this game than it is flying. My only other option would be to uninstall and reinstall the game, but trying to avoid that if possible. I haven't run across anyone posting about this issue so not sure if there is a fix for it. I'm not asking for much, just for a sim that works when I need it to!
  16. While we all have our own opinions about the software, I think there is an overall general consensus that weather in sims is very difficult to replicate. I know we will never get "real" clouds in the sim, but it would be nice to see actual 3D clouds. I am truly tired of spinning clouds every time I look down toward the surface. Even with REXSF, I still get spinning clouds. I am not sure what 3D is anymore because it seems that we have been promised 3D clouds for a long time, yet I haven't seen any 3D clouds in P3D. From what I have seen so far, I do like the software, although the weather engine sucks. I will stick with AS for now until they figure out how to inject weather that actually looks like what is happening outside. I have been a long time REX user and for all the hype about this product, it is truly underwhelming. Of course, we were all basing our projections on this product from a video that was posted well over a year ago that was still using P3D v3. I had hoped that since v4 came out, that it would be better, but looks pretty much like what it did in that video. Honestly, what needs to happen is Prepar3d needs to develop a sim from the ground floor. We are still using coded sims from FSX and we all know how bad that was. I am hoping that FSW will maybe contact REX or AS to get a weather engine and then all we would need is some aircraft for that sim to take over. While sticking with P3D for now, it may be time to give another sim a shot soon. Of course, I have to think about what am I really using it for: training purposes or capturing images. For training purposes, it does good, but the weather has always been lacking and I believe it will continue as long as P3D doesn't change. While there is always something to complain about, I am gonna try to find the good things about this software and stick with it Just my two cents...
  17. Have you tried loading a flight plan? I know it says it can be used for VFR flights as well, but I tend to have too many problems with it without a flight plan loaded. The software is great as it add immersion to the flight, but there are lots of flaws in it. Make sure your in-game traffic is set to 0 if you have traffic enabled on the VOX settings. Have you tried different airports also? It may have something to do with the airport also if it isn't coded for it.
  18. The only thing I can think of is trying to go into your 'procedure pronunciation editor', assuming you can get it to open up and see if you can change it in there. I have yet to get that application to work. It automatically crashes every time I try to open it up. I'm not sure if that is just for SID/STAR/APP or everything included.
  19. In regards to the KCLT issue, I rebuilt the flight plan in P3D, which is where I created it the first time, changing the route from HI ALT to VOR and that seemed to at least allow me to fly the flight plan. I guess it has something to do with one of the waypoints in HI ALT route. I did enable logging so next time I have the issue, I will save the log and send it. Where is the save log button? Is it in game?
  20. I've been using VOXATC for the past few months now and while at first, everything seemed to work fine, now I feel that nearly every time I turn on my flight sim, another issue pops up. I ran across yet another two more today. First, I loaded up the sim with a flight plan from KMEM to KCLT. It initializes fine and I tune ATIS. Then I switch over the Clearance Delivery and ask to pick up my IFR clearance. After being told to stand by, about 5-10 seconds later, I get a fatal error message and it says to disable VOX. I don't know where to find the log of the issue, but I can't figure out why it is having issues with KCLT. It is the only airport that I have run across this issue. I have almost all the FSDT and Flightbeam airports and have flown around all of them with VOX, except KCLT. I have run FSDT live update and the VOX indexer and still have the same issue. It does not tell me the issue in game either. Second issue is that whenever I try to download a PMDG paint from AVSIM and even some from the PMDG Ops center, and try to use that plane with VOX, it gives a fatal error saying it doesn't recognize the type aircraft. I have even gone through the process of copy/paste working paints flightsim.x and changing only the texture name and title, and still it doesn't work. Most of the issues I have had is with 'American Airlines' paints. I don't know why that one paint, but it very frustrating. I enjoy the aspect of being able to talk to the sim, but am getting very frustrated with how many issues there are with this software, only to get no support. If anyone has any fixes to these issues, please post!
  21. I meant the Little Nav programs in regards to editing the AFCAD, but I assum it doesn’t. There have been several instances where I have been on approach and been assigned a different runway because there was another aircraft approach around the same time. I have shot parallel approaches at SFO and IAD, but it is pretty rare, which was why I increased the traffic percent to see if I could get it more often. One place I have yet to figure out what is going on is LAX. I can’t get planes to take off on 24R if they are on the north side. Almost always, they taxi to 25L. Only way I take off a different runways is if I ask the controller. And for DFW, they always taxi out to 35R or 17L so taxi times are like 10 min or more. I figure the only way to change that is to edit the AFCAD, but I don’t know how to do all that. I will just make do with the current setup and hope that future updates fix these minor problems.
  22. Does that program edit the AFCADs in any way? I adjusted traffic density to 30 and had that program running and it seemed to at least fix some of the issue. I’m still seeing international airlines like ANA and Etihad at several terminals at IAD but airlines like AA, VX, UA seemed to be parked at the right terminals. I also checked DFW and it seemed to get the airlines correct also. I went to LAX and that was where it seemed to still be having problems. ASA is still parking at the international terminal along with the AA and UA terminals. I’m gonna do more testing, but at least it seems to be heading in the right direction. Now I just need to figure out how to get VOX to incorporate multi runway ops for T/O and landing. Thanks for helping with that.
  23. I will give this a try and will report back. I will try to get some screens to show the issues if I see them.
  24. I fly almost exclusively to payware airports though (FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa,) and they already come with correct AFCADs so I shouldn't have to fix it. Whenver I don't run VOX and just run in game AI traffic, everything works just fine. Airlines at correct terminals, multiple runway use, correct taxi so I know it is the software, just don't understand why it doesn't read the AFCADs when placing traffic. I run the indexer after every change I make so I am at a loss honestly. I make do with it because it is great software and brings a sense of reality to desk flying.
  25. I use custom AI I have built over the years, continuing to update as flightplans drop from AIG. I put my traffic level at 60% on VOX. I have run into some anomalies at certain payware airports. Whenever planes line up on certain runways, they turn either 90 or 180 degrees and then take off. I have default AFCADs from the payware install, and everything works just fine whenever I don't use VOX. I've yet to see any solutions for it also.
