  1. If you own FSUIPC/FSWIDE it is very easy to run Pilot2ATC on a remote computer to share the load. - FSUIPC can send the PTT keystroke or yoke button to the remote PC. - You can have the headset/mic connected to your FSX computer. You will have to buy a couple of cables to send your voice via Line-in to the remote computer and to hear back ATC.
  2. Thanks Dave, next time I will pay attention to the specific instruction given and not make assumption.
  3. Yeah, I even replied "Descending via the RIIVR2 arrival [callsign]". But after getting instructions to descend and maintain I knew something wasn't right. I went to Pilot2ATC to see what exactly ATC said: "Fly the RIIVR2 arrival with the HEC transition Altimeter is Two Niner Niner Four at LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL".
  4. I have a question, when ATC says "Flight the RIIVR2 arrival" is that a clearance to descend via the STAR or just for lateral navigation? I assumed I was cleared to descend but then I got instruction to descend and maintain xxx feet. ATC didn't complained but I wasn't sure what to do.
  5. I am happy to report that this flight was succesful! I repeated the flight today, same flight plan "KLAS.BOACH6.HEC.RIIVR2.ILS25L.KLAX". Everything went well this time. I believe the difference was the flight plan this time included the waypoint of the ILS. I do not remember them there in the previous flight plan eventhough the last waypoint said KLAX ILS 25L. Most likely my fault. This version is so much better. Great job Dave!
  6. Thanks Dave, I will try again and report back.
  7. I did. I got cleared to descend via RIIVR but only got clearance to 14000, then 13000.
  8. Filed and flew klas-klax. Everything went well but the last altitude clearance I got was to 13000 feet. I was never transfered to tower. And after I flew over klax airport ATC said I was off course.
  9. Trying to depart from ksan rwy 27 Pilot2ATC v2 keeps telling me I am #2 for departure but there is no other aircraft around. And I never get clearance. Tried again with AI traffic set to zero and it worked ok.
  10. At times the plane capture the ILS of the opposite runway I am landing at. This was getting anoying so I started looking into what was causing this to happen. Today I realized the airport didn't have any approach configured. After configuring approaches with an airport editor, now the plane captures the proper ILS. I don't know if this applies to every airport but I thought I would share in case it helps anyone.
  11. I've been following P3D but have not found any significant reason to go for it. My FSX boxed works just fine with the DX10 Fixer. Going back to the days of re-installing and tweaking instead of flying doesn't sound fun. Maybe if my HDD crashes I will reconsider.

  13. There is another case I encountered where my plane doesn't catch the localizer, that is in airports that use the same frequency in opposite runways. The frequency is correct but your plane sees only the localizer of the opposite runway to where you are landing.
  14. I have spent more money on FSX that I care to admit but my Favorites from what I own: FTX Global + Vector REX + Softclouds ASN Radar Contact (I am considering Pilot2ATC) FSUIPC, EZDOK, DX10 Fixer Majestic Dash8 PMDG 737ngx (777 is great but too automated) PMDG J41 Since SimBrief and Skyvector came along I stopped using all of my flight planning addons.
  15. 3D printing is becoming affordable, I am surprised there is not more sharing 3D files going on, we could print parts at our local 3D printing store and make handles for different aircrafts.
  16. Scott I am a long time user of RC4 and have been using Pilot2ATC for only over a week now. In my opinion it has lots of potential but be ready for a learning curve and lots of tuning. I was very frustrated until I noticed the mic level was too high and it couldn't understand what I say. After that the experience has improved. So far I like it a lot and suggest you try the demo. Here some pros and cons I noticed so far. Pros: - not supported but it does work from a remote PC (see sticky on this forum) - it understands many combinations of expressions to place requests and readbacks (impressive actually) - you can request a standard approach to a RWY and it will deny clearance if wind conditions are not favorable (that was neat) - developer is active Cons: - Clearance Delivery gives you clearance straight to cruise altitude, RC4 seems to handle clearance much better (I found a work around by specifying a lower altitude to the first SID waypoint) - lots of tuning before it is usable (but I could say the same for almost any addon) - doesn't see transponder mode selector, you need to activate transponder from the addon screen.
  17. This ATC has a lot of potential. It has "problems" but if you want to train your brain to readback intructions to ATC then this is a winner. Here are a few issues I noticed so far: - doesn't recognize the transponder selector in the PMDG NGX. Radar Contact seems to do this just fine so it is doable. - tried different things but couldn't get it to calculate TC and TD causing it to give me clearance directly to cruise altitude and diving to the runway to land. - missed approach at KLAS (read above) and tower vectored me into the mountains - requesting taxi to gate gives me taxi instructions to a random area of the airport. GSX recognizes specific gates so requesting specific gate is doable. Joel Pacheco
