  1. I imagine the pilot had it with the idiot ATC and was trying to react to the "terrain" alert blasting in the flightdeck. She was very unprofessional to say the least.
  2. I use Pilot2ATC for my ATC needs and it has the feature to add your chatter files.
  3. Today I got into the "You are number two for departure" loop in version 2.0.1.21 I read back instructions but it always understands "Number one for departure <callsign>" instead of number two. Is this the incorrect readback?
  4. What I did was to buy a couple of audio cables and connected the line-out of each computer to the line-in of the others. I have a headset+mic in the FSX computer. My voice goes from the mic to line-out to line-in of the P2A computer. P2A voice goes from the line-out to the line-in of the FSX computer to my headset. It takes some configuration to reroute the line-in to the headset but it works great.
  5. Caution, ILS frequencies in FSX do not match the charts sometimes. Double check frequencies on the FSX map before you start your practice.
  6. I like Vector better. The coast line, lakes, rivers are more realistic now. I bought the Southern California and had to unsinstall it because it was killing performance. Maybe a future computer will handle it better.
  7. I run P2ATC in a second PC and it is much more convenient. I can even use the charts and sometime read instruction when ATC bombarded me with 3 sets instructions at a time in approach. Use the map when see something interesting and want to know what city is that down there. See weather for the destination. P2ATC has so many functions that it would be a shame to hide it in the background of your primary computer. Works great in FSX but never managed to do it with Xplane. Cannot find how to send the PTT to the second computer with xplane.
  8. In the FMC there are key combo for many functions. Write it down and configure the rocker button in FSUIPC to send the key combo when pressed,
  9. I like it. It gives the ilusion of a new airport, and it looks good. I think it is a good value.
  10. Thanks for the comments, I will give Quality Wings a go.
  11. I almost never leave the VC, so the exterior is not that important to me. Both models I looked at, the quality of the textures of the cockpit is not what we see in "PMDG" quality. This is just from photos and from the non functional demo one of them offer. Of course I do not own either and I can me completely wrong. My question was hoping for any other, besides QW and CS, that I never heard of. I do have xplane in my computer and very much enjoy the Embraer 110, which is the only addon plane I have in xplane. But I have invested a lot of time and money over the years to make FSX look ok: airports, weather, textures, traffic .... I barely have time to flight since life gets in the way. I do not have the time and energy at the moment for xplane.
  12. Is there any 757 for FSX out there close to PMDG quality? I looked at Quality Wings and Captain Sim but I was not impressed.
  13. I canceled my Navigraph subscription when they failed to support Pilot2ATC. Then I found myself using more and more the charts provided by Pilot2ATC which are the same as airnav. But I mostly flight in the US so I do not know how much coverage they have for other regions.
  14. I recently settled for Pilot2ATC after using Radar Contact for years.
  15. It is not rocket science. Having and idea of what the systems do and where they are will help. With the assistance of a traffic controller might not be a centerline smooth landing but you will survive.
  16. If you meant FSX, Intel is the way to go. I have the latest 8 core AMD and is not even close to the Intel performance with FSX.
  17. Solvair, if you start the taxi readback from "via taxiway..." it will accept it every time.
  18. The ATIS function introduced in version 2.0.1.11 is very welcome! But there seems to be a minor bug. The only way to stop ATIS report is to dial a valid frequency from the "Nearby" frequency list. Changing to any other frequency doesn't stop ATIS report.
  19. I am having that issue since recently, maybe the last version or the previous one. Didn't have that problem before. Connecting again usually solves it, and restarting P2A always solves it.
  20. Thanks for looking into this Dave. These are the two flight plans I mentioned: KPHX JUDTH4 MOHAK J2 IPL LYNDI4 KSAN KLAX LOOP8 DAG KEPEC3 KLAS
  21. If you fly in the US then: - flightaware.com for real world routes and - airnav.com for airport, SID and STARS charts is all you need to get you started. Simbrief.com also does fuel calculation for some aircrafts.
  22. I think something is broken in 2.0.1.10 because now I am not being cleared for higher altitude after takeoff. I tried two flights I have flown many times kphx-ksan and klax-klas with same result. In each flight I created flight plans with SID, START and Approach included. Example in Loop7 klax SID I get cleared to maintain 13000. I get transfered to departure and to center but none tell me climb to higher altitude. If I ask for higher I do get cleared but in the past I always got steps to the cruise altitude. In one flight I tried climbing wihtout clearance and ATC didn't complain either. Is like ATC is not aware of my actual altitude. I check the configuration in case I changed anything, but I do not see anything that could cause this behavior. I hope is something I did wrong.
  23. Flying out of kphx rwy 26 I requested "<callsign> Ready for departure runway 26" and tower responded to hold position because of traffic on final. But the traffic still was over 20 miles away from the airport, which is a long wait. Is there a way to change this so that "traffic on final" only happens when it is closer say 6 miles out?
