  1. Just finished my first ILS flight in VR using your eBag! Fantastic! What a tremendous benefit to be able to refer to charts while in VR. I've really been hoping someone would develop a tool like this. Thanks for your efforts in improving our flight sim hobby!
  2. I can highly recommend MSFS 2020 in VR! Despite some shortcomings, the flight experience through a VR headset is absolutely spectacular!
  3. What is MSFS doing better than the others? MSFS makes me want to use it and that's enough for me! I've spent thousands chasing a flight simming experience and despite its early shortcomings, MSFS is the simulation I now use. I've tried going back to the others but find it difficult to complete a flight... but that's just me. I would bet there are others that feel the same. Take a realistic look at the value per dollar spent right now and it's not even close imho. If MSFS never got any better I would still get an enormous amount of enjoyment from using it. But I trust that it will get better over time which is enough for me. I can't imagine how much better the experience will become once VR is implemented... but again, that's just me.
  4. Absolutely stunning, looking forward to your release!
  5. Be advised, running the "MSFS with FSUIPC7" .bat file may trigger a malware response from your anti-virus software as I just discovered first hand. This is a false-postive response as confirmed by John Dawson on the Dawson forum.
  6. As a former IT project delivery manager, I always found it useful to understand how a software release met initial user expectations. Having read a multitude of comments and opinions regarding MSFS 2020, I'm interested to know if the simulation has met your initial expectations. If so, why? If not, what would you characterize are your biggest disappointments? I for one would say the release has met my expectations for the most part. I primarily fly GA aircraft so I appreciate the graphics detail. Is it perfect? Certainly not but I try not to let my expectations interfere with my ability to enjoy my use of the software in its current state. I've learned to utilize the functionality that is available understanding that some functionality needs further attention. And in time, updates will address current issues. I am especially looking forward to VR implementation knowing the initial release may need refining over time. I accept Asobo's expressed long term commitment to improving MSFS 2020 and look forward to these improvements as the software matures.
  7. 16 pages regarding night lighting... seriously? And the overall conclusion is that some like it and some don't. Imagine that! Take a look at the night lighting in the competing products and if night lighting is your thing then be grateful we have a third option. If you're expecting this simulator to mimic a view you'd see in real life (someone suggested garage and porch lights) you should realistically lower your expectations. This is a tremendous NEW simulation and with a solid commitment from the development team, will only get better with time!
  8. Howdy all! Just wanted to pass along a heads up that the 11.5 beta 14 is available. Installing now...
  9. I have discovered the reason why I did not have import functionality when using the RealityXP GTN 750. The Simbrief downloader application does not include a RealityXP .gdp export option so I used the F1 .gdp export. The Simbrief downloader places a dash between the airport ID's (ex. KMOB-KNEW) in the .gdp file name which is not recognized by the RealityXP unit. Once I replaced the dash with an underscore (ex. KMOB_KNEW) I regained use of the GTN 750 import functionality and all my Simbrief exported flight plans are listed.
  10. I added the LogTrainer = 5 to the RealityXP.GTN.ini file of the Carenado PC-12 aircraft in P3D v5. I still do not have the import button. Here are the contents of my rxpGtnSim.dll.log file: 20/06/15 23:09:43.837 04664 - ] # rxpGtnSim64.dll version 2.5.26.0 20/06/15 23:09:43.836 04664 INFO ] 20/06/15 23:09:45.686 04468 INFO ] GTN 750.1 - TRAINER 6624 20/06/15 23:09:45.689 04468 INFO ] C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Packages\GTN\Bin 20/06/15 23:09:45.692 04468 INFO ] C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Packages\GTN\data 20/06/15 23:09:45.695 04468 INFO ] C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases 20/06/15 23:09:45.698 04468 INFO ] C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\GTN\nonvol
  11. Thanks for the response Jean-Luc. Please let me know if I can provide additional information.
  12. I too have struggled most of the weekend with finding a way to import a .gdp flightplan. I have no "Import" button. I do have the KSLE_KSLE.gdp along with the .gdp I created in Simbrief in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases\FPLN I've tried multiple uninstall/re-installs, installing in P3Dv5 only, even uninstalling my RealityXP GTN 750 for X-Plane... still no joy. I have no "Import" button or import functionality from the Catalog in P3Dv5, P3Dv4 or even X-Plane. I am able to create and save a flightplan directly in the GTN 750 but cannot import. Here are the contents of my log files: rxpGTN.gau.log: 20/06/15 06:30:45.989 20904 - ] # rxpGTN.dll version 2.5.26.0 20/06/15 06:30:45.988 20904 INFO ] rxpGTN.xpl.log: 20/06/15 06:30:45.989 20904 - ] # rxpGTN.dll version 2.5.26.0 20/06/15 06:30:45.988 20904 INFO ] fxpGtnSim.dll.log: 20/06/15 06:30:48.410 20904 - ] # rxpGtnSim64.dll version 2.5.26.0 20/06/15 06:30:48.409 20904 INFO ] 20/06/15 06:30:50.691 03704 INFO ] GTN 750.1 - TRAINER 6624 20/06/15 06:31:47.979 03704 INFO ] GTN 750.1 - TRAINER 6624 20/06/15 07:58:00.304 03704 INFO ] GTN 750.1 - TRAINER 6624 (No reference to the C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases\FPLN folder) I've read through the user manual, I've even tried creating a shortcut to a "GTN Flightplans" folder in the C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases\FPLN folder. Nothing I have tried to this point has allowed me to access to any import functionality. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
  13. LM has posted HotFix2 on their forum, an addon file to address issues associated to WMR headsets in particular the HP Reverbs. First pass using HF2 with my HP Reverb eliminated the jitters and restored a VR experience similar to what I have in v4.5. Give it a try!!!
  14. Still waiting for my password reset from the P3D forum as well...
  15. I'm pleased with the performance improvement but an improved VR was the reason I purchased v5. I'm standing down on v5 until the VR issues are found and patched. Back to v4.5 which is maybe where I should have stayed...
  16. mtr75: Just to confirm you are not experiencing any of the jitters I've been seeing using my HP Reverb? I see you are also using stock scenery where I have installed my Orbx v5 compatible purchases. I wonder if that might be contributing to this issue. I've adjusted settings all up and down the sliders which of course affected FPS but did nothing to alleviate the visual jittering.
  17. I was hoping for an improved VR experience but to this point (knowing it's only day 2), I'm struggling with some of the same issues others seem to be experiencing. I am achieving higher FPS but can't seem to find the correct settings that allow for an improvement over v4.5. Very jittery through left lens for some reason, not a comfortable experience. Anyone else experiencing similar issues? If satisfied with v5 VR, I would appreciate any information on settings you are using. My specs: i7-7700 4.5 Ghz, running P3Dv5 on 1 GB M.2 SSD, 32 GB Ram, RTX 2080Ti
  18. v5 requires a purchase just as previous versions. Check the P3D store... if you can get on the site!
  19. Thanks Steve! Appreciate your prompt response!
  20. Just finished my v5 download and about to install. I have read the installation document but still have a question (or maybe confirmation) regarding the install but can't get to the P3D forum right now. Can v5 be installed outside of C:\Program Files (x86)? I installed v4 on my C drive in it's own directory outside of C:\Program Files (x86). Just wanting to confirm this is still acceptable. Thanks in advance...g
  21. I'm hoping to learn of an improved VR experience in P3Dv5 before I purchase. As for MSFS2020, I won't purchase until VR is supported. No question the FS visuals are incredible but after using TrackIR and multiple monitors in an attempt to improve the immersion I just don't enjoy sim flying on flat screens anymore. For me personally, nothing comes close to matching the immersion when using a VR headset!
  22. MIlviz and A2A. Currently awaiting the KA 350i SP1 release and hoping my 182 and my V-Tail 'nanza compatibility won't take too long!
