About Me
Live in the Caribbean and work as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor at a family owned dive center. Have loved aviation since I was a kid. My dream someday is to get my private pilot license. When I am not at work or on flight sim, I am probably working on my novel or on my Playstation 4 shooting stuff....or enjoying island life. Worst part about living on a small island...plane spotting SUCKS here.

Well let us hope the 747-8 is a couple months away.

I agree...but at the time the cryptocurrency mining nonsense caused issues with the price and availability of the GTX 1070's. I had my heart set on a MSI Gaming X GTX 1070 but I was not gonna pay $650-$700 for a $420 GPU. Even now the prices of the GTX 1070's are still a bit high.

I recently replaced my dead GTX 650Ti SC with a EVGA GTX 1060 (6GB version) and it works great. I am running P3Dv4 at a resolution of 1920x1080. I would recommend you get a card with sufficient memory. i think the 1060's are affordable with great performance.

I am also having issues with T2G LFPG, but only after purchasing Orbx OpenLC Europe. I disabled all my add-ons and enabled them 3 at a time and found that the crash only occurs when LFPG is enabled. Try to load a scenario and the sim crashes to desktop.

I would like to see the release of the PMDG 747-8 expansion and the QW 787 released before 2017 ends. As for my fantasy wishlist.... PMDG C-17 Globemaster lll PMDG A350....that will never happen but if they do take on an Airbus project I think the A350 would be cool. ATR 72-600 PMDG 737 MAX

I don't expect it to be as cheap as the 777-300ER expansion and for good reason. The 747-8 seems to be a far more complicated "expansion" than others considering the aircraft has systems that aren't included with the older versions of the aircraft. It isn't merely a stretched 777-200LR. With that in mind, I would expect a higher price range than the expansions for the 737 & 777. I am not a dev or anything like that so my logic could be complete rubbish.

FSDG Mauritius anyone?

I think I will get Mauritius and Reunion in the very near future. Does the airport at Reunion have animated jetways? -
Geez...that sounds really frustrating. I am yet to complete a flight and last time I tried a flight P3D (v4) crashed. I have since put the aircraft back in the hanger until the next update and test it then. The aircraft itself looks great and it comes with some great liveries that have the makings of some fun short hops around Europe and the USA.
-
I never said the aircraft is not fun or not worth buying. I did say I would not recommend it "At the moment". At the moment, in my opinion, I personally have experienced too many issues for me to speak positively about the CRJ product. If I thought the aircraft would not be fun, I would have NEVER purchased it. And all those reasons you like the aircraft so much are some of the things that interested me. The lack of a Boeing/Airbus type Auto-Pilot and as you said, "thinking ahead of the aircraft" are part of the reason I wanted to add the CRJ to my hanger. A challenge and something different. Despite being unable to use the aircraft I still would recommend the product...just not at this moment...and this is because of my personal experience, not because I think the product is inferior. It's new software (on a new sim) and these growing pains are expected.

I have the CRJ and would not recommend it at the moment. What a mess...my buddy has the 717 and has no where near as many problems as me.

Majestic Dash 8 Q400 for v4. Any news?

Not to mention it was Carnival in Antigua earlier in the week so Mr. Richardson may have put the project on hold for a bit of j'ouvert fun. -
Majestic Dash 8 Q400 for v4. Any news?
CaribbeanCLANK replied to Treetops45's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
People are so impatient these days...instant gratification is a disease. I am looking forward to seeing the Majestic Q400 being compatible with P3Dv4 but I am willing to wait. Time is needed to switch our add-ons from 32 to 64 bit but some people just don't seem to understand this. I have waited for some time for a certain other Bombardier to be released and it finally released and I can't even fly it....my install of the add-on crashes the sim. So I have NO problems waiting for a stable product. Developers take their time to release a solid product....people complain. Rush out the product so people can get their stuff...people complain when it doesn't work properly. Some folks aren't happy unless they are unhappy.
