  1. English is not my native language, not sure I fully understand your sentence I'm afraid
  2. I build flight plans with flight aware so was never bothered by that. I think PFPX can export plans to the iFly. Anyways we are drifting off topic I think.
  3. Madden or Squad are my alternatives when not flight simming I guess they kinda count as sport and infantry simulations
  4. I'd advise paying attention to the airflow in your pc case too. I lowered my temps almost 15°C by upgrading my case fans, granted its noisier now but much cooler. (15°C down during a stress test) i5 4670k OC'd @ 4GHz
  5. Fair enough.I will probably stick with the iFly then. $135 is worth the iFly, the Q400 and probably a payware airport on top of that. It will undoubtedly be a great addon though.
  6. iFly offers full refund without questions IIRC, not a huge risk to try it. I own it and am pretty satisfied with it. I will wait to see the pricing for PMDG's on P3D and see if I warm the credit card up. But iFly is great bang for the bucks at $60 imho.
  7. I disagree, on my system default p3d looks way worse than Xplane. I think the availability of freeware scenery is an asset of Xplane. It's free, what's the risk? It's so easy to add/remove a scenery in xplane the risk taken is nil.
  8. I have recently bought Xplane along the Saab 340 and Javier fmc for the x737. To be honest I have a hard time going back to p3d now. I agree that p3d is more complete but a lot of people here invested a lot of money to bring it to that level. I don't want to invest too much money in product like ftx and such, the fact that the texture are not blurry when flying, the great skycolors with hdr gives Xplane the edge to me. My $60 Xplane looks better than my $60 P3d and is a lot smoother.
  9. Hey guys, here's my last DCS edit about the helicopters available in the sim . Hope you enjoy!
  10. Can't tell for that MSc, but I know a few ppl that went through cranfield. They work in aerospace now. Then again I don't have an aerospace related engineering degree but I have worked in that field since graduation anyrway. Landing any job depends also on how you sell yourself. If you have the funds go for it. Don't know how it works in your country but here you often start your engineering career working for a contracting company (they send you to work for an other company) I'm working for a big aircraft company but I'm not employed by them. So the game is work as a contractor, get noticed and hired by the big ones. Guess it's kinda similar to pilots working for regionals and then going in the majors. Lower pay included.
  11. Until recently I was a configuration management engineer in the helicopter industry. Recently started a new job in certification, still in the H/C industry.
  12. Both are superb airplanes, appealing in their own ways. Had the chance to fly a BA 744 last year and a United 777 this year and really enjoyed it. They are just beautiful pieces of engineering. (Athough United service was better, but that's another debate haha)
  13. Purchased the iFly747v2 (impulsively) yesterday did a little test flight from Paris to Montreal:
  14. Is it easily deactivated then? (trying to make an educated guess before purchasing)
  15. Thanks ! how is that function activated? like the in the pmdg through the FMS?
  16. Planes tend crab and face the wind while flying, they may move away from the centerline on touchdown. keep the centerline with the rudder and add some ailerons to the side of the wind. Antoine Bidartarra
  17. Hello all, Just a quick question, how does the 747 performs with time compression? Say x8. I don't have time to do flights real time. So an addon working nicely with time compression is always a must to me. Thanks
  18. Ok then, hopefully we'll see it at some point. Antoine Bidartarra
  19. Hello everyone, As the title indicates, I'm wondering of this feature is available for the NGX now. I've read a post from Robert saying it would be available at some point. I own the NGX for FSX but I'm now on ped v2.5 and I'm considering getting the NGX again. I've read about the feature for the 777 and it seems quite neat for someone like me that can't spend long on a single flight I'm also really considering the 777 or 747v2 because of that feature. Ah finally the joys of long haul! Antoine Bidartarra
