It appears to be quietly discontinued everywhere. It's a shame, since this is the only payware KOAK scenery that exists for P3D and could be considered "good"...

Atrociously bad framerates with a good PC

Oh, I remember all too well the days of running on 720p monitors, and that was considered good!! 😆 But a smaller display would be fine with me. I do appreciate the advice! -

It probably is the TV and the problems associated with displaying the picture. For example, here is a screenshot of some very clear aliasing in the taxi lines at FSDreamTeam's Honolulu (PHNL). 16x anisotropic filtering, 8xSSAA, FXAA on, 4096x4096 texture size. https://postimg.cc/bSYrKZDg -

Unfortunately those settings do not look very good at all, even with the slight shimmering that I expected from fences, etc. It makes the stars shimmer at night, the cockpit textures seem horribly aliased, and even at the maximum 8xSSAA I still see shimmering, but it's not that bad, if hardly noticeable. At night, of course, SSAA takes a large toll on my GPU, especially with dynamic lighting, so I have to reduce it to 8xMSAA or 2xSSAA and FXAA off which brings back the very noticeable shimmers. I also have to reduce it to those settings when flying over certain ORBX regions, like NA Southern California, EU England/Ireland/Germany, etc... So something has to be wrong with my antialiasing. And it's something I've struggled with for quite some time now. -

Hi Ray, Your CPU, an i7-8086K, is marginally (albeit notably) better than my Ryzen 5 3600XT, according to userbechmarks. Deleted NVIDIA inspector, confirmed that all NVIDIA control panel settings are at default. That seemed to help my framerates as I am now seeing a consistent 25-30fps at (for example) Flightbeam KDEN at night, with dynamic lighting on, at those same settings. My CPU is running at roughly 25-30% and my GPU is running at 60%, +/- several percent. Not concerned about RAM, as I'm sitting at a consistent 15gb used. The initial problem of framerates has been solved, except for one thing: When I'm on initial approach to an airport, descending through roughly 12000 feet, my framerate drops to around 13-15fps until I reach final approach, probably due to scenery draw distance, which I will lower and test. So it was probably something to do with NVIDIA inspector creating a conflict that caused the frame drops. other than that it has been resolved but now a new problem has arisen - Antialiasing. I see very noticeable aliasing/shimmering on taxiway and runway lines and edges, as well as on the plane itself. This has been a consistent issue for me. The only thing that has changed recently is that I upgraded my display driver a few days ago. Also, I did make some changes to NVIDIA inspector (not control panel). Let's see if any Inspector settings are in conflict with the simulator. -

Yes, It's actually slightly overclocked through MSI afterburner. And like you said, I highly doubt the TV is the problem since an HDMI input is all digital and can handle relatively low refresh rates. -
Hi, I am writing this post because P3D v5.1 (latest version plus hotfixes) have become totally unplayable for me, especially at night. When parked at the gate, I'm seeing framerates as low as 4fps. On final approach to airports, I get 10-15fps. During the day, I typically see around 15-20fps, with a solid 30 in the cruise, which is the only time the sim is playable. I really don't know what might be causing all this horrible performance, seeing as my PC should be more than capable of playing the sim at my settings. I play on a 4K Toshiba 38" TV, with the refresh rate locked at 30hz through NVIDIA Control Panel. EDIT: All NVIDIA control panel settings besides locking the framerate, and refresh rate are at their default settings. LINK TO GALLERY: https://postimg.cc/gallery/t6j6zLD SPECS: Ryzen 5 3600XT, GTX 1080 Ti, 32GB DDR4-3200 RAM, 256GB M.2 SSD + 1TB Gen 4 NVMe SSD + 1TB HDD, MSI MAG CoreLiquid 240r 240mm AIO cooler, MSI B550-A Pro motherboard, Corsair CX650M 80 Plus Bronze PSU, NZXT H510i case. Any help would be appreciated. I'm at the end of my rope here.

At my wits' end: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG

I do have the Leonardo Maddog and the QW 787, both at their latest versions. Did the latest versions of those addons include the most recent beta Trueglass installers? -

Yes. My TV has 3 available refresh settings, 60hz, 50hz, and 30hz. I'll download RivaTuner and see how it performs over a flight, as well as keeping my sim FPS limit at 30 as well as putting the TV's refresh rate at 30 as well. I'll get back to you with results. Thanks! -

In regards to your first point, I was always told that limiting your FPS prevents overloading your GPU, which is why I did it to begin with. Seems I was fed wrong information from multiple sources. Using high-res terrain textures used to be a "must" back in the FSX and 32-bit P3D days in order to prevent the scenery as a whole from looking like swirled baby excrement, to put it bluntly, but how does it hold up in P3D v5 (considering it's still an ESP platform game)? -

@kevinfirth @Johnny19 @mazelda @Ray Proudfoot Here are my in-sim settings. As a reminder, my NVIDIA control panel settings as well as NVIDIA inspector settings are at default. With the settings I have, I get a solid 30fps no matter where I go and antialiasing looks good. -

I am aware of the implications brought on by using a 4K screen. I was originally using a 1080p screen but I was always encountering atrocious antialiasing issues to the point where I would have to use 8xSSAA to even noticeably see the jaggies go away whatsoever. As you’re aware, that level of AA is extremely taxing even on the strongest GPU’s. With 4K, I can run P3D with much less AA. I will post my sim settings so you can get a better look of what I have set. -

No. I never have EA enabled. It's too much of a strain on my GPU.
