I'm a big fan of GSX, and was curious how others handled this situation. I notice that even though I connect the jetway, the back stairs always still come up to the craft, even though they are not needed. Is anyone actually using that back staircase, when the jetway is already connected? Do those back stairs even work when the jetway is connected? I probably have a wrong setting 🙂

The MSFS camera system has a lot of room for improvement, compared to addons like Chaseplane. The whole UI setup with huge icons right in the middle of the screen, could also use an overhaul. MSFS looks great when you are up in the air, as you are looking down at satellite imagery. Aside from that, its really not all that.

I know this will not be very fun to hear, but from my experience, 99% of crashes were because of hardware not being able to handle the sim specs. I recommend downloading hwinfo64 and checking CPU temperatures. I would also check overclock settings, as they can also be the root cause.

P3D has the complete experience at the moment, not just better plane models. GSX Level 2 for example, is very immersive, as well as camera tools like ChasePlane. MSFS will eventually catch up, but its not going to be for another year, in my opinion. The one thing MSFS does great, is multiplayer. Built in without having to run a third party app, and comes with fun aspects like leaderboards for challenges. I don't see P3D being able to match them in that regard, unfortunately.

+1 for Flightbeam SEQM. Bought it after the recommendation and it is absolutely beautiful. I also got Orbx Africa to go with Dakar. Next, I would like to pick up something in Brazil, so I will check out your suggestions. Thanks!

@rmeier Thank you so much for the help! I thought I had burned $30 last night. The SODE file fixes the jetways across the airport. Would you, by any chance, have a copy of the runway lights fix? The file from Step 7 does not seem to be available anymore. @greggd I noticed that you mention copying texture files to both the MMMX scenery texture folder, as well as P3D's texture folder. Can I get a confirmation on whether both need to get done, or is the latter enough?

Not sure if I am having the same issue @vc10man is having, but I am also seeing a sort of white mist covering the airport, and it looks like its the clouds, as its constantly moving. I would think that Active Sky's P3D Low Cloud Offset feature would help with this, but it doesn't seem to do the trick. Maybe Mexico City just lives in the clouds 🙂

As I mentioned above, the patch removes all jetways. I tried going into GSX and adding them, but it doesn't even place them where the slot for the jetways is. Here is a screenshot where you can see me trying to add jetways back in, and the missing jetway slots.

@rmeier @Mace Can you also share the full solution with us? The exclude file linked earlier in this thread removes all jetways... Tried adding them back through GSX, and they don't even seem to be positioned correctly when you place them. It is definitely not that simple to install T2G MMMX for P3Dv5.1, and I just wanted to make sure and clarify that in this thread, in case someone in the future is interested. I read that and bought it thinking it would work as well as the other T2G products I have purchased in the past, but that was not the case. SimMarket also doesn't give refunds.

Just purchased this, and I can confirm that it does not properly work for P3Dv5.1. If you test it fully, you will notice that there is default scenery overlapping the airport. Check gate 21 for a clear example. If you try and use the fix from the other thread about this, it will also remove the jetways...

Just purchased Taxi2Gate's MMMX, and I unfortunately cannot confirm that it is working for P3Dv5.1 as I am seeing default scenery on top of it. I have Orbx South America installed. Here are some screenshots:

Hello, I would like to add some airport scenery for Mexico, Central America, South America and Africa, as I never seem to fly there. Could I please get some recommendations of detailed, high resolution scenery for each of those regions? Doesn't matter if its payware or freeware. I do see options on SimMarket, but am not familiar with a lot of these developers.

@onebob Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I was curious if you were able to get this working, without the aircraft having any power? In other words, a full cold and dark start with no external power attached or APU running. Did the small icon show up as soon as you installed Spotlight, or once you assigned a light to a craft? I am not seeing it for some reason, even though there seems to be lights set up for the A320. When I turn on a light in the spotlight manager, it just flickers on for a second in the cockpit then shuts off. My theory is because the craft has no power.

I'll try to keep that in mind 🙂 I notice that with the PMDG B738, for example, pressing one brake during taxi, helps me turn in that direction. This doesn't seem to hold true for all models, as some models will just brake in a straight line even if you only press one of the brakes. Wonder if what you said also applies for taxiing, and how it applies to larger models.

Hello, I was hoping that FSLabs spotlight would act like a sort of flashlight, and help me find the aircraft power buttons when starting up cold and dark at night. It seems though, that the spotlights don't work unless the aircraft is powered? Or am I missing something?

Thank you for that suggestion! I have a fully licensed version 6, and I think that slope is exactly what I am looking for. Must be exciting to be at a level where you can write code for an addon app that speaks directly with the flight sim. Am trying to get there myself. I actually feel like I have seen an option in one model to do the same thing as your utility does, and set the brakes to apply pressure equally. Might have been the Q400? Still curious how pilots in real life deal with this challenge. Am guessing you really need to plant those heels so as to keep them steady 🙂

Hello, How do flight simmers deal with the fact that there is a different pedal for each brake? Not sure if my Logitech Rudder Pedals sensitivity is set too high, but if there is the smallest difference in the amount of pressure I apply onto the brakes, then my plane will go skidding into one direction or another, as I am trying to slow down after landing. For that matter, I don't understand how real pilots deal with it either. Is there a way to lock them both into applying pressure simultaneously. Is this limited by model, or a global setting in P3Dv5? Thanks!

Hello, It seems that whenever I click the button to show the aircraft icon on the map, it also shows this arrow with heading and kts, that I do not wish to show on the map. Is there any way to show the plane icon without the arrow also showing? The arrow overlaps the map and detracts from the experience, in my opinion. I spent a lot of time looking through all the options and settings, with no solution. Thank you for your continued work on this awesome tool!

Fixed it! Looks like it was a windows speaker issue regarding an exclusive mode option.

Hello, I am a big fan of Chaseplane, and only started having this issue after installing everything onto a new PC that I just bought. For some reason, the volume of multiple apps and addons is getting muted by Chaseplane, even when I am not in Cinematic mode. I have tested this by checking the volume mixer in a specific camera mode, vs cinematic mode, and I can reproduce it consistently. I am on P3Dv5.1.12. Any idea what may be causing this please? I have tried reinstalling Chaseplane, but that didn't help. Thanks for your time.
