It is that time again; Spring Cleaning (okay, a little late, but hey, we get there eventually). We're going to commence pruning (read delete) of unused or underused forums. These will not be archived, but deleted. So, if one day you come into the forums and notice some absences, you will know what happened. While we are at it we may well be combining some forums as well. Jury is still out on that but if we see combinations that make sense, we'll see what we can do.

So I don't like how Airliners.net wants to have $25 so that you can post topics on their civil aviation forums except the Photographer forums. So does anybody know any good free real world aviation forum website. Does Avsim have a spot?

We are moving furniture around!Seriously, we are moving forums around, making more sense of the categories, deleting some, putting others in hibernation and with more to follow. So, bear with us folks as things get more "refined" around this joint.

We have added a new feature that has been requested and we think you might find very useful. It is the ability to remove forums from the Index and lower level subforums from your view. You can do this via your User Control Panel; Click on the REMOVE FORUMS link and then select the forums you want to be removed from your Index and Subforum views. Use CONTROL RIGHT click to add or remove your selected forums. By clicking on a top level forum, you will also hide all sub-forums as well. If you just want to hide selected sub-forums, do not click on the top level forum but the sub-forums not of interest to you.

We are stepping up our support of X-Plane in a way that we think will be beneficial to both the community and developers, both commercial and freeware. Here is the nub of it: If you develop for X-Plane, whether you are a commercial or freeware provider, you are welcome to have a forum here, in the X-Plane category of forums on AVSIM. You may notice that we have brought the Draw Bridge support forum into the X-Plane category from the Commercial Developers Support forums area. We will do the same for any add-on developer who wishes to have a forum here. All we ask is that you not have an existing forum and that the forum here is your official support forum for your product or products / add ons. If you are interested, please send me a PM and we'll go from there.
