August 26, 200322 yr Lemma #24: Bigger customer base = bigger headaches.Oh for the simpler days of Fly! and Fly! II!! Long life Fly! :-)Now that you have a much larger customer base, a "less personal" approach to customer support becomes a necessity. If, for nothing else, do it the sanity of you and your team!Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure that the vast majority of your customer base will support you. Let the product speak for itself...My 2 cents.- Bill - William Ruppel, CYTZ, VATSIM 816871
August 26, 200322 yr Posted by John:"Give it a rest-I mean no disrespect but I'm tired of seeing you and other Forum members calling people immature. He does have a point. You stated that PMDG never give release dates until they are sure they can meet them.PMDG did this stating that on the 24TH, a VNAV patch would be released. It is now the 26th and no Patch has been released." You say you don't like to see forum members called immature, however impatience is a very childish trait. The patch was released on the 25th here in the US, within 24 hours of the time stated. I am sure the additional 24 hours caused no one any undue hardship, and if it did, I suggest they reevaluate their priorities. This is not meant as a personal attack, and should not be taken as such.Sincerely,Carl Moore

August 26, 200322 yr Usually, I don't comment such kind of topics. But by watching forums like PMDG's, I more and more have the impression that*) mostly teenagers with only little experience of the real life post*) these teenagers spend most of their time in front of their computer monitors (i.e. they mostly live a "virtual life")*) these people are therefore highly computer addicted, so time has another meaning for them: since everything passes so quickly in their virtual life, they seem to read forums hundreds of times per day, posting again and again (i.e. the forum becomes almost a real time chat room)It's clear that such individuals make problems. Everything that's not happening according to their expectations is bad in their opinion. And then they start to attack people personally.A moderated forum is a must here, I think. Bad for all the honest people, but also bad for the bashers.Andreas Andreas, LOWW - Nihil sumus et fuimus mortales. Respice, lector: In nihil ab nihilo quam cito recidimus.
August 26, 200322 yr NonsenseI am 44 years old.I post and read a fair bit.I do other things too.I have a job.Sorry, had to respond.
August 26, 200322 yr This is the main problem on this forum (and a few others too). Most of the people who have a complaint or say something negative are branded as children (and a lot of the time told to get a life too) among other stuff. The majority of negative posts aren't that bad. Some people may over-step the mark, but if that is the case then ignore it, don't throw your handbag on the floor and start name calling. When that happens then things really do get out of hand. The original 'complainer' is not always at fault for this, the 'I'm great and good because I never complain' person is. This community is really starting to go downhill because of this. If I pay my $'s and I don't like what I get then I have every right to say so. If people don't like that then that is tough. On the other hand if I like what I see then I'll say so...Please have the intelligence to argue properly, don't just label people complainers or children and tell them to get a life. Act like grown ups and try not to be so sensitive. This is all just my opinion of course. Perhaps we could have a real grown up conversation about it? However, I really don't care if you want to shoot me for it - I'll try and not lose too much sleep over it all. I'm 33 years old and I have a life and a job - I even talk to other people in real life!Richard David Crane BSc(Hons) CIBiol.
August 26, 200322 yr >Nonsense>I am 44 years old.>I post and read a fair bit.>I do other things too.>I have a job.>Sorry, had to respond.>Robert,I feel that the whole forum thing is a true social phenom of sorts. It is an outlet for lots of folks that do not have one. Aside from the community of folks that are truly interested in the product and how to use it to its fullest potential. The NG can keep one pretty busy learning the procedures and systems it models. Coupled with the new look of FS9 the realism is quite immersive. Last night I flew KSFO to KLAX a common route for me when testing and learning a new aircraft. Well as you know in California we are experiencing some interesting weather related to Hurricane Ignacio now downgraded to a tropical storm. My evening flight was just beautiful to watch and the approach into LAX was interesting and challenging.I want to just thank you for the Service Updates, your patience with this community. As I posted above the e-mail system is fine with me.Good DayTony
August 26, 200322 yr UH, I think you meant the last part for the PMDG guys, I just have the same name, :-).Yeah, just flew EGPF to EGGW and it went OK apart from some errors which I sussed out quickly enough. Right now I am trying to refuel for a run to Geneva. Gotta love these quick turnarounds !So, the left wing tank won't fill up, strange. I just closed it and will set as a new flight. Off topic I know but being nice and freindly. The a/c has improved so now to delve a bit deeper in the 2 hrs I have left before work.BTW, I don't go out and socialise outside of family, being 44 and married twice with kids I just ain't interested, LOL.The median group of FS users are male, 30-45.
August 26, 200322 yr dear Robert,i would agree with the posts proposing just to ignore inappropriate messages. don Denis Kosbeck KPHX
August 26, 200322 yr Encouraged by the continued presence of PMDG members on the forum, I decided to go ahead and purchased the 737 today.Purchase, AC/Database/Procedures installation, registration and update 1-1 all went just fine (FS9), and everything appears to be in working order. Just handflew the -600 on a circuit around KSEA, and managed to bring her back down on the runway in one piece, so that's a nice start...and I liked what I saw!Now it's into study mode and beginning the adventure of learning all the avionics, systems and FMC stuff...I'm looking forward to it.Thanks guys, Martijn
August 26, 200322 yr I believe I'm in that class of people who complined about the product. Not openly here on this forum but directly. I said what I thought and Mr. Randazzo said what he thought. I made an apology to him because I did say some nasty things but after talking with him I found the guy to be cool. People do make mistakes I guess thats only human...right? Look at NASA? But down deep, I trust Mr. Randazzo to do the right thing. After that I haven't said anything, I understand where my fellow flightsim brothers are coming from. Product after product, promise after promise and patch after patch. I'm not speaking for everyone here I respect your opinions, for some, enjoy this kind of back and forth and others don't. Whatever way you get your freak on.Just like someone said in the forum, "let the product speak for its self." Either put up or shut up thats the bottom line. I've been dealing with PMDG for sometime and strongly believe they'll PUT UP. I also hope that PMDG sees that we are human and respond in all kinds of ways, and return its members to the forum. We are in this together you are as much are part of us as we are to you...regardsNoboruThe above comments solely excpressed above are not the expression of any one company nor are meant to single out one group or groups of people. August 26, 200322 yr >.... The irony here is, that the men and women of our armed forces >are still out there giving their lives for the cause of human >rights.... That's not your meant in earnest, or??????
August 26, 200322 yr > I understand where my>fellow flightsim brothers are coming from. Product after>product, promise after promise and patch after patch. I really tried hard never to reply to a message here again but what you say is exactely the problem. All the frustration we "bad guys" have, does not only come from the PMDG - problems but from a series of bad experiences with (often expensive) add-ons! (My "worst case" was a Swiss add-on for FS95 or 98 (can
