PMDG 737-800/900 Release Information

Absolutely correct! I have nothing against Perfect Flight itself, but their addons are pretty over "best before" date and they really look like some FS5 ... FS98 things. As I fly sometimes in Learjet 60 myself, I was very interested in their product when it wasnt released yet. But then I got it and whata hell, even the default Learjet 45 panel fits more with real 60 than Perfect Flight one.

Ben. I couldn't have said it any better. When PSS announced they would not be upgrading the 777/747 panels for FS9, I completely scratched them off of my list. At least PIC is in the process of redoing their fantastic 767 panel.------------------------------------------------------------------Joe F."It's not the fall that kills ya. As far as FS9 addons go I agree that PMDG is probably the best out right now. I also think that the Captain Sim 727 is pretty much up there. Especially with the Checked and Set feature....takes a lot of the workload off your shoulders.I don't have the RFP747 so I can't comment on that one. But friends who have it are for the most part happy with it.I am looking forward to the F1/Dreamfleet ATR though....that should be an excellent addon. As should be the PICV2. Obviously I will be the first in line to get the 800/900 addon from PMDG even though it may have a few bugs. I know that whatever problems it may have will be fixed. And I'm still hoping that PMDG enables the "coffe making" feature in the FMC.

Yes CS 727 is amazingly good, I'd agree with that. I just can't land the damn thing without bouncing it three times! Is the real 727 like that?

The NG even has an ultra high flow setting>for the packs on the ground with the APU running.>>Cheers.>Ian.>Cheers, Ian...You may have me there - I am not up to speed on the physical capabilities of the NG APU and i will research them. Traditionally - pushing a turbofan to startup is no small feat - it requires all the pneumatic pressure available on a 767/777 (which Packs/anti-ice etc.. would drain from the common duct) - however, given the smaller size of the 736-7 engine and the newer technology, it's quite possible that the APU can in fact provide enough pressure to startup one engine. The remaining sore-point would be only grayed-out options on the FMC if that's the case. I noticed that CI modelling is being addressed as well...good to hear.-Further to that - since documentation seems a bit vague - can anyone tell me how to get the N1 button to work? Following the logical order (engine start-up, FMC programmed with takeoff speeds) it would seem that I cannot get it going apart from the top-left bolt option which seems a bit silly (although the callouts are great) instead of hitting N1...- Also - do the wipers actually work? If they do - I'm obviously missing something in the pneumatics/electrics bus to get them going.

Great work! Hope to see the 800/900 soon!Just noticed the displays showing the "old fashion" style of the 737 cockpit with all the seperate gauges, i love it. But, correct me if i'm wrong, shouldn't this look a bit different? If the displays are set like this then the upper EICAS should be full of engine gauges and the lower EICAS is turned off."old fashion": http://www.airliners.net/open.file/197552/M/If the displays are in the normal mode then the upper EICAS has much space left and the lower EICAS is in use.normal mode: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/168111/M/Just wondering. Maybe someone is better informed then me...cuTom

The NG FMS does not work as the 767 FMS. For A/T T/O there are two TO/GA buttons on the throttle levers, but for our convenience PMDG placed the TO/GA button on the top left MCP screw instead. In the VC however you have clickspots for the TO/GA buttons on the throttle levers.Hope it helps,

Hi Tom,The PMDG 737-800/900 offers a styles menu with which you can choose various display configurations. You can even choose your cockpit configuration according to which airline you would like to fly!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/71575.gifVinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg

Hi Vin,great feature. I thought i heard about it before but never realized that it also changes the EICAS displays. This chance to select the EICAS modes is very interesting to me cause i'm going to build a little 737NG homecockpit. The problem is that i'll have only one EICAS display. So i need the "old fashion" EICAS setting. Hope this function of an offline lower EICAS will be included.Go on with this great work!Tom

Do any of you have experience with Flight Factory Simulations? I ask because I'm very interested in their Saab 340 project:http://www.flightfactory-simulations.com/P...0B_previews.phpSo far I've only dealt with PMDG, and from what I have read I started at the top of the pile. If I invest in there product when it's done, will I be disappointed? Thanks!Nick

:) I cannot wait...

I asked here because the people here have experience with PMDG and I'm not looking to compare the FFS products to others, just PMDG. To put it more succinctly, does the realism portrayed in FFS's products compare with that in PMDG?Just for context, the PMDG 737NG is the first payware aircraft that I have ever bought, and I'm curious how PMDG stands compared to products from another company. I'm getting the impression from everything I have read here so far that PMDG is the cream of the crop and buying something else will only result in disappointing comparisons to the "original". I don't want to step back. I'm already neglecting all my other freeware aircraft and panels.More later, maybe... I've got to go to class right now, though.Nick

I have not but the plane looks promising, one can really only judge something once it's released and track record means something but not everything. Times are changing in the flight sim community and the bar is being raised but not only by PMDG, there are others with the talent we have a great future in store for us ;)[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J.
