PMDG 737-800/900 Release Information

Well, this is certainly a great list of thing to come. I'm very anxious to see this on my system, as is everyone else. With respect to the IRS and radar features, I for one would think it would be ridiculous to make you guys add this before releasing the 800/900. Also, the IRS would be nice to have, but I can't say it's a real concern of mine either way. The radar is even less of a concern, simply because it would eat a lot of frame rates, regardless of how it was programmed or what system it was running on. Most would not be able to run all the new features of the NG with radar for weather and ground terrain. Probably a customer base of 5 - 10 percent at most.So at least consider releasing the NG without the IRS or other features that simply can't be completed in a timely manner. I foresee bugs with the list of nearly complete features when the 800/900 is released anyhow, that's just to be expected. No sense in driving yourself to madness :)Regards,Chris

When installing the 800/900, will it upgrade the 600/700 with the new functions included in the 800/900?Jan Roar R

I for one, Rob, will take the hit and now upgrade to FS9 on my crappy laptop....thank god for PC's :)New laptop coming in 2 weeks, can't wait :)I'll have to burn my FS2002 on about 4 DVD's :( just for the memories.

And sorry for repeating myself every few months BUTwill the 737-800/900 have a "save config" function so busy users of this addon can return to a particular saved situation later if they need to break for reality/bed/dinner/email etcThanksAdam MooreRegistered PMDG 737NG User

Randy thanks for information...how do you "reactivate" the FMC? do you have to save the situation first or does it autosave your current situation (ie FL370 enroute etc)thanksadam moore

Will the non-800/900 specific updates that affect the regular 600/700 versions be available as a free service pack? The 600/700 series is enough aircraft for me, perhaps too much :). Although if it was $20 or less I might be able to convice the money controlling powers to let me purchase it ;).Nick Bonilla

What is ACARS/AFIS?

Hi,Under this program, you will be able to purchase the PMDG 737-800/900 for a discounted price for a LIMITED period of 14 days from it's initial release. What about the users who bought the boxed version from Aerosoft? Can I simply buy this upgrade online or do I have to wait until Aerosoft releases a special box-upgrade?___________________________Best Regards,Bodo M

Hello!> As promised back in August, we will release the product under a special pricing program for PMDG customers! Under this program, you will be able to purchase the PMDG 737-800/900 for a discounted price for a LIMITED period of 14 days from it's initial release. Upon expiration of the 14 days, we will return the pricing to it's normal level. (So don't wander off! We will make NO exceptions to the 14 day rule!)well, are you sure you can handle the resulting server load this time? Everbody wants to buy (and download) within this 14 days which will certainly lead to a lot of complaining customers and not very friendly replys by some individuals......Don't want to start a bad discussion here, but the trouble ahead is obvious :-(

Thank you so much PMDG for the great product we have already and for this future release, I don't know if you actually care but I find that sometimes it's good to give the appropriate credits when deserved. The only thing I truly long for is still the weather radar but at the same time I do understand that that requires a long time to do so I'll just keep my fingers crossed for the future 'cause if someone will do it it will be you first considering the way you approach every project.By the way will it be possible to have the fmc reset properly now for go-arounds?didn't qiute understand if that would be taken care of in your soon to be released 800-900 series? My compliments again and have a good one...David

Good point made above. How about staggering the emails sent to customers to prevent a repeat of the fiasco when SU2 came out?I certainly will not be pleased if I buy this update and then cannot download it for days on end:-(Adam Moore

Bodo, you'll be able to purchase the download and upgrade the boxed version. Our server has gone through some upgrades and should cope with the beating it'll cop when we release. :)

Cheers,

Adam->will the 737-800/900 have a "save config" function so busy>users of this addon can return to a particular saved situationSorry- forgot that one in my list of things we wanted you to know! The first product we EXPECTt to release with a full cockpit save-flight capability will be the 747-400. (I re-stress the word EXPECT. It may/may not come to fruition with the 744, but I can assure you it will not appear in the 8/900....)
