March 22, 200422 yr BoazSimulating ACARS would mean sending and receiving data, at least in my ears. But I'm sure Captain Randazzo will reveal what they have in store when he thinks the time is ready as he stated in the first post.Cheers, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
March 22, 200422 yr CI is there and although I have not tried it, the STEP looks to be working, will see later tonight. HOLDS This is one area that I was personally involved with and the only item that I am aware of not modelled (YET) is BEST SPEED automatically initiated 3 miniutes prior to the pattern and or immediate BEST SPD PPOS HOLD. So really the aircraft should apply BEST SPD on it's own. ENGINE OUT. The way I understand it is that the EO pages are REFERENCE ONLY, they do not "do anything" like inhibit VNAV (like it is NOW). If there are some pilots of the NG with more detailed information here please feel free to speak up regarding this issue.
Best Wishes,Randy J. March 23, 200422 yr Personally,I can understand the decision to not implement a WX radar/EGPWS system, not when there is so much being implemented.I have to say though, that I would be pretty dissappointed if there was no IRS implementation. No doubt you'll implement it if you can, so keep up the good work!;)John (Once known as Macs)http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewer

March 23, 200422 yr In real Life, the aircraft has to know exactly where it is at all times. It does this by use 3 laser guided instruments, which establish it's exact position by aligning for about 10 minutes prior to flight at the gate. PIC767 and SSW A310 model this very well. The IRS provides the information like Attitude,heading,Speed,position... pretty much everything, practicing IRS failures is challenging as you loose everything expect the steam gauges(compass, attitude etc).John (Once known as Macs)http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewer
March 23, 200422 yr Hi Mats, Indeed, that was what my naive hope was for ;-) It would be too cool if those of use who fly online could have a tool directly in the panel instead of have to use multiple computers or do task switches :-) But you are right, I will wait patiently for Mr. Randazzo's clarification.BoazEKCH
March 23, 200422 yr Have the Conditional waypoints function got improved in the -800/-900?Roar Nicolaisen
March 23, 200422 yr ".....practising IRS failures is challenging as you lose everything except the steam gauges (compass, attitude etc)."Just wondering if an ISFD will be an option in the -800/-900? (ISFD= all your standby instruments squeezed into one)? The ISFD actually uses one of the IRS's for heading info (where the compass card option is taken). If you lose all the IRS's you are forced to use the whiskey compass for heading information.IRS's are probably the most complex things to program in a sim. It's almost impossible to predict what their loss will do to other aircraft systems. They affect Autobrakes, the Yaw Damper, Autopilots, FMCs, Stall Warning, Flight Instruments (FPV, Heading, VOR, IVSI, AOA, MAP, PLAN, PFD Attitude, etc), GPWS, Weather Radar and TCAS,... all to varying degrees.Cheers.Ian.
March 23, 200422 yr Hey PMDG,well thank's for that very detailed list, can't wait to try all the new goodies. First of all it means for me though that I have to upgrade to FS9, hopefully my system will be capable of that.Next thing is that 14-days upgrade period. Just hope that you guys are able to supply all your existing customers with the update information needed. Specially for those who changed their e-mail address (like me :) ).kind RGDS,Flo (TXL, Germany) http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg
March 23, 200422 yr PMDG, apart from the wonderfull TCAS, or things like the IRS and stuff, that every body deep in his heart hopes you 'll implement, are there any thoughts about modelling the Flap Load Relief system?Wierd question, but i was curious if... :D

March 23, 200422 yr Sirs,Thanks for the update - it sounds very impressive - can't wait!!Also, a big thankyou for:7) was impossible to select a fix if a navaid with same id exists...now fixed.on the FMC/CDU - it will make my life much easier and mean I can throw my "work-around" away!!Peter

March 24, 200422 yr Oh that's a good one ;). I think it is only relevent for flaps 30-40 but it's been a while since I looked it up..
Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/betaimg.jpg Randy J Smith
