Looking foward to downloading the updates. Also looks foward to the news about the PMDG 747.

Thanks for the update, great customer service!Looking forward to the 747!Stefan W.

Did I here the word.................747!!!!!I can't hardly wait...........Would PMDG consider a 777 as it seems PSS has all but scraped theirs. Also loking forward to the updates.

Hi Robert,I'm assuming that if I purchase the 800/900 after the service release, the patches will already be included? Thanks,John

John-That is to be determined.... The SERVICE UPDATE will most likely be included...The model update will not... We left the model update out of the original release in order to keep the download size to a minimum... Models add significant size to downloads....RSR

Thanks for the great news on all these items! Can

That sounds great, but it seems the 600/700 is forgotten.I have paid big bucks on the CD version and I think it is a great product, but the service isn't.I have tried to contact PMDG members in PM, but they don't seem to be responding in any way. I want the 800/900 upgrade desperately, but a creditcard isn't an option for me. I feel left alone by this. I think PMDG should introduce another form of payment (like PayPal) for those costumers living in countries where it just isn't that easy to get a creditcard.Right now it seems all attention goes to the 800/900 customers. It's really frustrating to see no word on the 600/700 whatsoever. My trust in PMDG is reaching an all time low, so I hope they will do something to keep ALL customers happy...!!!

Arthur-"Right now it seems all attention goes to the 800/900 customers. It's really frustrating to see no word on the 600/700 whatsoever."There is no word on the 600/700 because its a complete product. :)

John,It doesn't feel like a complete product. It is missing the TCAS, the better VC graphics, the lower EICAS....all the good stuff the 800/900 does have. I am not bugging on the 600/700, cos it is a nice plane/product. It's just frustrating not being able to upgrade!I hope you'll understand :-hmmm

Good news Robert, and congrats on your marriage :)

Arthur-It could be that you have discovered PMDG and our products relatively recently, so I apologize if my answer appears rather bland...When the PMDG 737 NG series was announced in September of 2002, we described it as a progressive product that would grow in phases...The 6/700 that you are flying now has indeed been upgraded beyond what was originally envisioned for the airplane. We did this during the normal patch cycle that followed the initial release- and the version you purchased on CD reflects the most current version. With the 8/900 we spent significant time and effort to develop new technologies to provide value in the 8/900 product. There has never been discussion of offering these functions at no cost- as they represent a signficant development investment and 9 months of work and testing. They were never planned for the 6/700...If you want the newer options, then it is necessary to purchase them in the form of the 800/900. This will also upgrade our 6/700 to include the new functionality... The fact that you are not able to provide a form of payment accepted by PMDG is unfortunate. Your email to me this evening (and earlier email on the same topic) insists upon acceptance of an FOP that is acceptable to you- but there are significant risks and complexities behind accepting that form of payment- and these risks are not acceptable to PMDG.Currently we are working with our publisher to determine a strategy for bringing the 8/900 to market on CDRom. This process takes time, and will not happen over night.

Robert,Thanks for your reply, much appreciated. The only reason the payment issue is bothering me is because in another thread you or John stated that there won't be a CD version of the 800/900. I know nothing of business, but I didn't understand the reason why. Looks to me a CD-rom version will open up a market for a whole new bunch of PMDG customers and you guys did it before on the 600/700 version.I am not saying I want the 800/900 upgrade for free, I am willing to pay for it. Lots of other developers are using different payment methods, like bank transfers or PayPal which I thought are even safer as creditcard payments. But who am I? Just a guy eager to get his hands on the 800/900 upgrade! ;-) Let me say again: your response mean a lot to me, as before it looked like you guys were ignoring me. I want to thank you for that.As far as the upgrade goes; looks like I have to be a little bit more patience, but things are a bit more clear to me now! (-: In the meantime I wish you guys all the luck and succes on this great product!

The Service Update for the 800/900 will include an IRS? I believe that this was promised back upon initial release as it wasnt possible to include the IRS at that time... John http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewer
