July 10, 200421 yr Hey just found one with only the PFD http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=2476...atic=yes&size=LLook at the Qantas`s PFD and in the ADI section.See those yellow "wings" at the 15 degrees pitch angle on the ladder? Those things only appear whenever the flaps are extended and will disappear when the flaps are retracted. These are the "MAXIMUM PITCH ANGLE" indicators to tell the pilot what is the maximum pitch angle they can pull the nose up to whenever the flaps are extended. I thought that this is common knowledge for BOEING glass cockpit captains?
July 11, 200421 yr I hope PMDG add those "wings."Also does anyone know if they pitch down as load factor increases (eg in a turn?)Thanks!
July 11, 200421 yr Those yellow "wings" are called the pitch limit indication, and are also referred to as "whiskers." On more recently produced airplanes, they will also appear with flaps up as you get closer to the stick shaker angle of attack. (I don't remember off the top of my head what the triggering angle is.)Don S.

July 12, 200421 yr Hey hey! Where are the product developers? I need my whiskers! Hey I think that there is something wrong with the ECIAS displays also. Seems like a cross between the B777 display type and the SOUTHWEST configuration? Where is the lower display? I have never been in the real B737-800 flight deck before but I think that we should be able to check the surfaces movement page on the lowere ECIAS?
July 12, 200421 yr Read the forum rules and you'll see that you are required to sign your posts with your name. After that, you can Read the manual and find that the Over/Under display shows control surfaces provided you have the aircraft properly configured. You'll also realise that the NG doesn't have an EICAS. John http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewer
July 12, 200421 yr Sorry about that, But without an ECIAS how does the B737NG display their engine paramaters? Sorry cuz i am more familar with the B747-400 that my dad flies in real life. The engines display on it is called ECIAS.I have managed to get a sneak peak at it when I was on the B737-800 flying from Singapore to Taipei. I was on business class and then when I went to the loo the cockpit door was opened for a split second when the cabin attendant went in. Caught a glance at it and the EICAS looked likehttp://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=5769...atic=yes&size=LAnd not like PMDG`shttp://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=5515...atic=yes&size=LIs this problem going to be worked o Lut in the upcomming patch? Also the problem being brought up earlier is the missing pitch indications when the flaps are extended. I always look at those whenever my dad extends his flaps. Always a joy to see them appearing on the PFD!I still like ya B737 paackage anyhowz and I look forward to show my dad it cuz he was thinking about retiring and downsizing his fleet to the B737NG. Even if the package isnt like the real thing at least he can train his procedures on it!Thank you PMDG!Victor
July 12, 200421 yr Victor,Again. The EICAS means Engine Information and Crew Alert System. The NG has only the E, I nd S of these letters so hence Boeing calls the displays the Upper DU and the Lower DU. It is possible to display engine parameters without an EICAS! ;-)Did you also know that there is a short link provided to every screenshot at airliners.net. If you read the information on the page you'll see it. Here's the short for your above links:http://www.airliners.net/open.file/576915/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/551506/L/Makes your posts sooooo much easier to read! ;-)And lastly. If you do as John suggested and read the manual about this bird you'll find your way to change the displays to your liking. You can have it both ways if you like. There's just one simple catch, you gotta know how to do it.You could also try to do a serach on this forum. Do an advanced search. That gives you a better hit rate. I'm sure this question has been answered before.Best of luck, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
July 12, 200421 yr THanks for updating me on da information. Cuz I have only read my dad`s B747-400, B747-200/300, DC-10, B737-400 manuals. Dun have much information on the B737-800 except I have to fly on it once a year to see my dad in Taiwan. I would appreciate it if the engine displays are displayed correctly to be addressed in the patch?Regards,Victor
July 12, 200421 yr Oops sorry I misjudged you PMDG! Seems like the only thing missing for me is the Maximum Pitch Angle indications. ALso the frame rates are lousy but cant say I can complain. It is expected for a panel of this complexity. How do I change the engine displays? I am too lazy to go thru the manual.http://www.avsim.com/pages/0504/pmdg_737ng...737_review.htmlHey there is word on a v1.4 update. I am running on v1.3. Where can I download this upadte? MY PMDG is the B737-600/700 in FS2002.There is a great review on this product there.Regards,Victor
July 12, 200421 yr Victor please!Frame rates - Search the forum or look at the MS FS forum for tips and trix. You should be able to get good FPS with this bird-.1.4 Update - Is a typo by the reviewers. They mean the 800/900Enginge displays - If you're too lazy to read the manual. I'm too lazy to tell you. Come on. You can't fly this bird without the manual! If you have the 600/700 you're stuck with the DUs as they are configured. The 800/900 let's you change the configurations. And please start new threads for new topics. This thread is for questions and comments on the Update Completion! July 13, 200421 yr Hi there was just thinking if there will be patch to make the PMDG B737-800/ 900 packagage compatible in FS2002 to the loyal fans of yours who bought the B737-600/700 for FS2002? This is because we cannot update the B737-600/700 for FS2002 to the B737-800/900? Will this be something to be addressed in the upcomming patch?Regards,Victor
