September 30, 200817 yr Commercial Member Can you randomly fail the IRS, unlike the 744 where you have to just switch it off to fail it?Best regards,Robin.
September 30, 200817 yr Thanks for your time and and all the answers you have already provided. I am anxiously awaiting the delivery of my MD-11 for FSX after having just built a new system =)My question(s) is more related to the manuals I would assume. I currently fly the LDS767 a lot and one of the things I enjoy is some of the preflight "calculations". For example I have charts that help determine initial cruise altitude selection based on acft weight and also the charts/graphs to calculate out reduced thrust takeoff power. I assume that reduced thrust takeoff is most likely available with all the other stuff you have managed to pack into this baby, but was wondering if the data/charts will be available to accurately calculate the proper numbers based on rwy length, temperature, pressure etc. Its actually kind of cool to do the math, abort just before V1 and end up stopping in the last 500ft just about every time.I just wanted to say a big thanks too for the "professional" looking manuals you guys are making available in addition to the electronic ones. Gonna by the bird first and see if she is destined to become my new main ride, but from the looks so far, gonna have to start hiding money from the wife to grab those manuals. Thanks again,Travis Normandin
October 1, 200817 yr Commercial Member >Can you randomly fail the IRS, unlike the 744 where you have>to just switch it off to fail it?Robin, the three IRU can fail each as part of the random failure generator or you may trigger each to fail using a timer.Regards,Markus Markus Burkhard
October 1, 200817 yr Commercial Member Great! :DWhat kind of failures are simulated WRT the IRUs? Are some "non-fatal" (i.e. don't result in complete loss of the affected unit)?Best regards,Robin.
October 1, 200817 yr Hello, I noticed in FS9 and FSX the spoiler can not be armed on the ground, will the MD-11 be able to do it or will it be just each one of the other planes in FSX.Thank YouCapt. October 1, 200817 yr Author Oliver, could you post a link to refeence to this video? I'm not aware of any such feature in either our sim or the real aircraft, though there are some indications that could be mistaken for such.Sorry for the absence of response on the board over the past few days, I think all the beta testers have been focussing on flying with the latest beta!
