yea, i don't get the rules here. I link all my photos to photobucket, so I don't udnerstand why the file size (350kb was a problem). The resolutions were all good. No big deal, but what sucked is I had a couple of comments that I didn't get to view b4 he deleted 'em.

Hello Corey, maximum file size here is 150kb whether linked or uploaded. When uploading to photobucket care must be taken as photobucket adds quite a few kilobytes to the file size for some reason.....so I try to upload a max file size of 130kb to photobucket to keep within avsim rules. :)

Don't like the posting rules and enforcement of same?I will now direct your attention to the "Terms of Use" you agreed to when you signed up to be a member here. DO read it all again, but here is just a part of it..The last line of this agreement is as follows;~Finally, be advised that we have a "1 strike and you are out" policy for abusers of the AVSIM Forums. We are dedicated to providing the best possible environment for the thousands of users of this system, and we will not tolerate disruptive, abusive, or otherwise objectional behavior or material on this system. Those who breach our policies will be shown the door~ That is followed by the "I Agree" and "I disagree" buttons of course.and you don't get to be a member unless you click on the "I Agree"NOW, all we need to know is who wants OUT of their Avsim agreement? Line forms below

>Why was it deleted? Did the size ###### get ya? :DPlease don't describe AVSIM staff as '######' that's incredibly offensive.

Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

>Please don't describe AVSIM staff as '######' that's incredibly>offensive.>Seconded. Please realise "The Stag" moderates this forum for our own enjoyment in his own free time.He has my full support and thanks :)

Don't you guys remember the "Soup ######" from Seinfeld? That's what I was referencing here, like "no screenshots for you!" kinda deal.I think the 150KB limit should be increased, but that's the forum's choice, and I choose to abide by the rules by not posting screenshots at all. It's my belief that you'd have FAR more posts in this forum with screens were the rules not so stringent, espesially on files linked to offsite servers. I can understand the 150Kb limit on Avsim's servers, but if it's a 3rd party hosting it, it seems wierd to have a limit on the file size. Anyways, like I said I simply choose to not post screenshots, so as to abide by the rules. Not saying I won't ever, and havn't ever cause I have, but for the time being.FSliners.net is a great site, they allow 5MB per file! :) That's sweet!

Amazing. The most feedback I've ever gotten to a topic I posted here, and it has nothing to do with the "topic"...lol

FWIW, First off...The shots posted were very nice.. Secondly...I don't get this as it comes up time after time after time... soooo many great shots get uploaded everyday that fall well within AVSIMs rules, ED-CASSO just to name one popular one...., that are equally nice some even nicer (not to pun FlyCos shots), just mean each picture has something different that makes one even nicer than another..So even with the upload filesize amount being small, it still is possible... hope u all get what Im saying...Thirdly, Tom is a good Mod and just does what he was appointed to do, so cut the guy some slack.. If whoever thinks hes a "bad" mod, think about it, if you were a mod here you would abide by the same rules. Here's a great idea, the year started off good here, (i know its only a whish) but lets keep it like that.. a FUN place.. I dont get the rules either BUT, I didn't make them, I don't pay the hosting/bandwith bills.. I'm just greatful to be a part of this comunity..I guess what Im trying to say is to the people who INSIST to have it THEIR way, perhaps, don't post? so the rest here can enjoy reading posts that do not contain bickering...Regards,

OK - lemme just say this real quick because this is draggin on. I was never one that made a big deal out of this anyway.I wasn't knocking anybody or any rules here. When I said I don't get the rules here, it meant I did't understand them or what I did wrong. Ed explained it and before I could even read this reply, Staggering made the whole "If you don't like rules" or whatever the comment was. That didn't mean I don't agree with them. If I didn't like or care for the rules here, I wouldn't post here. I just misunderstood the size limit. But it's not even that serious. I thought it was a dimension limit. Anyways, as I stated...No big deal...it really wasn't. Maybe this has been made a big deal by some other people and it kinda spilled over here. But I'm not the one complaining.

Ahh mother of God...lol. Can someone just delete the post or just the pics from the reply in violation? I forgot about that rule. Too much stuff to remember man, I post in like 4-5 different forums. Guess that makes me a 2nd offender. Your move guys but it wasn't done intentionally.

Oh shute Corey! :-eek ....you gone an' done it now! :-lol ROTFLMAONo pics after the first post. :-outta

>Ahh mother of God...lol. Can someone just delete the post or>just the pics from the reply in violation? I forgot about that>rule. Too much stuff to remember man, I post in like 4-5>different forums. >>Guess that makes me a 2nd offender. Your move guys but it>wasn't done intentionally.Corey,Yes, I can and did.. I try my best to make a post comply with the rules so I don't have to delete it,or make the member correct it, but it's not always possible. You must remember, as Moderator, I wish nothing ever went wrong around here. It's not fun or enjoyable (as many have said in the past). But, it's something that Avsim needs and wants done and I'm paying back and hopefully helping to keep this great free FS site on-line by doing this. And it's not just payback for myself these days, as I don't really get time to use the forums for fun. First let me say, no bad personal feelings as I type this reply, there are just a few things you say that I can't figure out here..I'm sure others might wonder about them also. Now,Keeping with the good thought of getting this resolved so it will not happen in the future,I have to cut and paste a few of your replies so they can read properly in my response.I normally like to make corrections in public right in the thread, not to make fun of the member, but in hopes that when others see mistakes and the rule against it, they will be sure not to do the same in their posts. This time since the view count was very low, I did sent you a PM telling you that I had to delete your post and that you should post a NEW topic and start all over with the correct size shots. It was a private issue at that point until you reposted and made a comment about being deleted first time. Nothing nasty, but it brought the subject up, and you only reposted one shot that already fit the size rules. If you would have just reposted without the comment I don't think anybody else would have said anything more. Only about your nice shots.>I wasn't knocking anybody or any rules here. When I said I>don't get the rules here, it meant I did't understand them or>what I did wrong.I always ask members to please go read the rules at the top of the forum when these things come up. I figure that will fix the problem for the future as NOW you will know what to do and not do here.>yea, i don't get the rules here. I link all my photos to>photobucket, so I don't udnerstand why the file size (350kb>was a problem). The resolutions were all good. No big deal,>but what sucked is I had a couple of comments that I didn't>get to view b4 he deleted 'em.>I thought it was a dimension limit. Anyways, as I stated...No>big deal...it really wasn't. Maybe this has been made a big>deal by some other people and it kinda spilled over here. But>I'm not the one complaining.Corey, you should have known from the start that file size was a problem here, This is one way things get all out of hand around here, if a rule is broken and a member gets corrected, things would go so smoothly if the member would just say .."sorry I've now read the rules and it won't happen again" Done and over, everything moves on.Is it that some members feel they are being picked on and it doesn't happen to anyone else around here? IF so, that couldn't be farther from the truth 8-) I've even had to correct visiting moderators here.. how do you think THAT makes me feel? Pretty low, but it's the only fair thing to do. Playing fair across the board is the name of the game, Some only post and don't read other subjects or threads, they they make a mistake that three other members have just been corrected on, how in the world can I just let it go? There is a bigger picture to it all that is sometimes not thought of by people. >Ed explained it and before I could even read>this reply, Staggering made the whole "If you don't like>rules" or whatever the comment was. That didn't mean I don't>agree with them. If I didn't like or care for the rules here,>I wouldn't post here. I just misunderstood the size limit. But>it's not even that serious."or whatever the comment was" sorry, but I have to say, this is one of the reasons why many issues never get resolved around here. Don't skip over the answers and facts please. That was from the Avsim "Terms Of USe" everyone agreed to uphold when they became a member of Avsim. That should be enough to end most arguments over the rules that keep coming up.There is a link at the top of the main forum page where anyone can review what they agreed to abide by as members of Avsim.Between that and the posting rules at the top of this and most other Avsim forums, you should be able to breeze right along without ever hearing from me 8-)I always hope some good has been achieved with these things so it's not just a waste of more time and bandwidth. HEY, I can hope can't I? :-lolCorey, no, you are not going to be banned from Avsim even with that second rule infraction, but PLEASE do read and understand the posting rules from here on out. Now, I have NO time left to go back and read what I've just typed so please excuse any common typing mistakes on my part.
