August 29, 200421 yr FSUIPC 3.317 is included in the AS update file Rob. You should find it in your main AS2004 folder, just copy it over to FS9modules.HTH
August 29, 200421 yr Hi Bruce,Increase your cloud layers to 4.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
August 29, 200421 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Bruce...Not sure, but I have a theory ... If global writes are enabled (quite possible via auto toggle in this area), the computed global wx which is written BEFORE individual stations is temporarily overriding the initial/current visibility. Thus the initial global vis starts, then it starts to smooth to the local YSSY value of 8000meters as soon as the station writes are complete. In FSUIPC do you have vis smoothing disabled after a clear wx command? If so, you might want to disable this option which should mask the initial vis drop.In either case, if the theory is correct, this would be a normal effect and should only happen during the first load of the flight and/or AS.Does that match your findings? Thanks! Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
August 30, 200421 yr I only have an unregistered FSUIPC so I can't change any of the FSUIPC parameters however what you suggest is more or less what I thought could be happening as so far it only seems to ocurr at initial load. So not really an issue if that remains the case. Bruce Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."

September 1, 200421 yr Hi,I have just had my first flight using AS2004.5 B142, after completely reinstalling everything to new HDD.I was on the ground at EGCC and opened AS2004, when it was writing the weather I noticed it was going through a lot of european Airports, EBBR, Through Germany, (ED**), United Kingdom, (EG**) and on through France and Italy.I don't remember this from my previous use of AS2004, is this to do with the globalwrite function?I was flying offline, EGCC to EBBR, other than that it was a very good flight with smooth weather.ThanksTerry
September 1, 200421 yr Hi Terry,We are writing more data now regardless of settings. What you are observing is normal.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
September 1, 200421 yr Hi Robert,Move this plane out of FS and see if it still happens:B737-700 Virgin Blue - WingletsHope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
September 2, 200421 yr Thanks Jim,Installed SP2 last night and then made an online flight evrything was stable though there was not much weather over UK.i must be the only person in UK waiting for the wind and rain to come back.CheersTerry
September 3, 200421 yr I don't know how you did it, but it works like a charm right now. No more windshifts just before landing, amazing piece of work!!!
September 3, 200421 yr Hi,Just wanted to make a comment and perhaps get some feedback.I am now using the latest beta version of ActiveSky. Doing just fine in my one flight with it. However, I have experienced something that I did with the old version. Using wake turb. simulation my plane in coming in to land suddenly will just drop, basically like a rock. I end up turning off this feature and all is well. Is this simulation for lack of a better phrase, for real? I know you can have problems cutting through someones wake but the only plane that had landed as I was approaching was one that was taxing off the field. Then 200 feet off the ground my plane just makes a nose dive. Fortunately for me I had my crash setting to none. ((I have had this happen at 1k feet before too. ))Thanks,Steve
September 4, 200421 yr Hi,Yes, this can be very real depending on your plane and the plane that has just landed. A small thing following a huge jet can be bounced around quite a bit.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
September 4, 200421 yr Hi, Damian.I just noted in my last flights that the surface wind at destination airport (GCLP, GCTS and LEMD flow each flight in differents days) don't match with the METAR that AS2004 show, both in speed and direction, i.e. this evenig, landind at LEMD, the wind that AS2004 showed in the windows was 140/10, but when I landing the real wind was 324/6. I check the delay time in FSUIPC for wind direction/speed changes, and lowered it form 5 seconds to only two, but the effect persist. I also uncheck in FSUIPC the 'Smooth only when airborne' option, but seems no effect too. Any ideas?Regards,Jose M. BarruezoSpain
September 5, 200421 yr Hello Folks!Whenever I position myself at TJSJ (San Juan's Luis Munoz Marin Intl. in Puerto Rico), ActiveSky hangs while trying to load weather because it is trying to download weather for KSJU (which does not exist), instead of TJSJ which is the correct airport code. SJU is the airline 3 letter code for TJSJ. Has anyone run into this yet?Sincerely,Dennis D. Mullert Sincerely, Dennis D. Müllert System Specs: MoBo: MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi ATX AM5. September 5, 200421 yr Hi Dennis,If I go to tjsj I get this:KSJU 050256Z 09004KT 10SM FEW100 27/22 A2999 RMK AO2 SLP153 T02670222 51010 $ RMK AUTOGEN AS2004.5If I do a Custom fetch I get this:TJSJ 050256Z 09004KT 10SM FEW100 27/22 A2999 RMK AO2 SLP153 T02670222 51010 $So the METARs look to be the same. I need to try something so hold on!Edit:: If you delete the KSJU data line in the wx_station_list.txt file, TJSJ will show up correctly.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
