Hello all,B142 is now available for testing by current AS2004 users. Remember, this is a BETA test version and not an official release. Please use at your own risk and make sure you have an archive of the original AS2004 v1.0 installer in case you need to revert back to a previous version. The official AS2004.5 release will occur soon, pending adequate time for confirmation of no problems with the current build. Here's the download link:http://www.hifisim.com/AS20045-b142.zipFSUIPC.dll v3.317 is REQUIRED for use and must be installed after running the B142 setup program (found in ModulesActiveSky2004). See the included revisions.txt for detailed information. WideFS users will also need to use the included test Wideclient.exe on top of a current WideFS 6.23 installation. Please find a list of revisions attached below. Questions, comments, problem reports and any other feedback concerning B142 should be posted here on this thread. Thanks everyone for your participation and continued support!------Update 2004.5 Beta Version (Build 142)

Thanks for your continued support.I just completed a flight from LAX to EWR using the previous beta version. I was following the actual flight on Flight Tracker and noticed his ground speed was quite a bit higher. I checked the latest winds aloft for that area I was flying and it was forecasting 268-54(something to that effect). A quick check showed my winds at that altitude were only about 270@20(or less)knots. I went out of the sim and looked at AS2004 winds, it also was showing 54 knots for that altitude but seemed it was not applying it towards FS2004 at the time. I then proceded to shut down AS2004 and clear all weather, then downloaded fs2004 default Jepp. weather....immediately showed the winds 268-54kts.I'll try this latest version and do more testing and give my results here.

Hi Damian!Just wanted to report positive results - initial weather set is working fine now (with ground updates disabled)! thanks for that!Couldn't reproduce anymore the "fogged in" situation at high altitude..was propably an extreme situation.I'm fighting now very bad FPS with ActiveRadar - as soon as ActiveRadar is enabled, the sim freezes...need to check it out...but it doesn't seem related with the new B142 version.thanks and cheers!harald

Hi Harald,Go to Options in AR and lower your Detail Level and make sure alt. radar render is Off.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Yep - Alt render OFF was the magic key! thanks Jim!cheers, harald

Hi there,I have been use AS2004 for a while now and have enjoyed it verymuch.I've been using all the updates including the latest B142.Everything is working fine except for one small problem. When ASis started a new window pop's up.It is allways the spot planeview.I've sent a picture so you can see what is going on.I closethe new view only to have it come back.It seems to coincide withthe update interval. This did not happen with the original installbut started with B115.It did not occur with B130&132,but startedagain with B140 and now with B142.This is a great product withexcellent support and I hope you can help. Thanks Frank

Hi Frank,That is a strange one. Is that your plane in the window? If it is then the window is the Spot plane window. Does this happen with all of your planes? Do you have any other FS software running with AS?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Hi Jim,Yes that is my plane in the window. It happens with all planes, and noother software running just AS and FS2004.I have the update set for10 minutes and used the chronometer to time the popups. The windowappears every 10 minutes.I left the window open to see what wouldhappen and after 10 more minutes it closed. So if I were to leave thewindow alone it will cycle on and off every 10 minutes. It's a painin the #### especially when on an approach because the popup becomesthe main window. It needs to be closed so I can be able to click onanything on the panel.Let me know if you need any more info. Thanks againFrank

In FSUIPC do you have any keys assigned? Somehow AS is triggering the key combination to open and close that Spot view window. Try and delete the FSUIPC.ini file and allow it to be re-generated.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

No keys assigned in FSUIPC.I deleted the FSUIPC.ini file allowing a new one to be created but the problem is still there.Frank

Hi Frank,I've never heard of this issue before either... Very strange one!The only thing happening during updates is:1) If online, a new download is initiated2) The wx is processed internally in AS3) The wx is set via FSUIPC writesCan you tell when during the process you get the pop-up? You might want to scale down the FS window and watch the AS screen to find out exactly when. It could give us clues as to where the problem is.FWIW the new FS window key is "]". AS does not send any key commands. It sort of sounds like some software you have running is calling this key. Maybe during the download process? Do you have download manager software installed? What about ADVDISP? Are you using this add-on? If so, does disabling any of this help things?Let us know!

Hi Damian,I don't have a download manager and have not been using the advdisp. So I ticked the advdisp in the modules menu and stuck it on the second monitor behind other undocked windows and no more popups whoo!! hoo!! I also removed the advdisp.dll so not to have to bother with it at all which works for me also.I did a flight from yyz to yul with no problems at all. Thanks to Jim and yourself for all the help it was very much appreciated.Frank

Thank you for your continued efforts to iomprove AS2004. However, I just wonder if what I have observed in my first flight after loading B142 is normal. Sitting on the runway at YSSY I load up AS2004 and the first attachment shows the result - visibity at minimums. However within a minute or so the visbility changes to that seen in the second shot with no change in the metar. I got the same thing after exting FS and rebooting FS and AS2004 with the same flight .The Metar is YSSY 290500Z 35009KT 8000 -RA FEW038 SCT090 OVC140 19/15 Q1015 RMK YSSY 290443Z 290606 01015KT 8000 -RA FEW015 SCT025 BKN120 FM14 33012KT 8000 -RA FEW015 SCT025 BKN100 FM00 33018G28KT 9999 -RA SCT030 BKN120 FM04 I have default settings apart from cloud layers which is 3.Bruce
