June 8, 200520 yr Moderator Looks fantastic guys! Great job.Well, someone has to ask a dumb question so it might as well be me :)Info page says 500mb disk space for complete install. For those of us who have already been using Chris' fine FS SKY World product - will this overlay those textures or be an *additional* 500mb over what is already being used? Don't know if my question makes sense.Thanx,VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
June 8, 200520 yr SO how is it possible for textures to change on the go while flying, if we or fs9 was limited to doing this.i'm just trying to figure out the advantage and how it would be done.
June 8, 200520 yr With real wx why would one have to process the flight plan then shut down fs9 and reload it and asv.Is it not as simple as turn on fs9 then asv click the flight import plan and then hit the AI refresh button for proper RWY usage and thats it?
June 8, 200520 yr Commercial Member HI Vic,fs sky world are not related to asv, asv will be *additional* amount of MB. ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpgFreeware Addons for FSW GROUP Kind RegardsChris Willis
June 8, 200520 yr Commercial Member HI Joe,"SO how is it possible for textures to change on the go while flying"Only cirrus clouds at this time, "cumulus type" clouds are installed before a flight.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpgFreeware Addons for FSW GROUP Kind RegardsChris Willis
June 8, 200520 yr Commercial Member HI Paul,Yes but after the release with update. if you will use 32bit 256x256 or 64x64 you should be fine.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpgFreeware Addons for FSW GROUP Kind RegardsChris Willis
June 9, 200520 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Luca,Here's some more info..Startup process... If you're using flight planning within FS9, you're OK as long as you don't have a flight loaded. So you can thus:- Start FS9, plan flight, set location (make sure you're at create-a-flight or flight not loaded)- Start ASV, use auto startup features and wait for process completion or manually set things up as desired- Start the flight...There are many ways to do it.. ASV is quite flexible here. The restrictions are:- ICS submissions will occur only when "FS Ready Status" is "not ready" (i.e. FS closed, or fs open with flight not loaded). - the exception is cirrus clouds, which continue to update in ICS mode at all times regardless of FS status- Normal AE submissions can occur at any time, but all textures (except cirrus) will not show in FS until it is restartedICS Cirrus updates occur real time.. meaning over the course of your flight you may have many several different variations. These do not update "instantly" on your screen of course but in the distance, past the suppression range. The great thing about Wx Configurator is that it actively applies to your current wx snapshot file in use. So yes you can load real wx (current or historical) then apply changes on top of that. In your example you do this:- Load desired starting wx- go to Wx Configurator and Select thunderstorm template (or make your own settings)- Select to apply to LIRP and leave default 100nm range- Apply Now- Select clear wx template or create your own settings- Select to apply to LIRN at default 100n mrange- Apply Now- Update and Close- Fly!Now you'll have your desired real wx and modified LIRP/LIRN regional settings.:) Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
