October 21, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hello all!ASv6.5 has been released! For the update download: http://sales.hifisim.com/ASv6/downloads.htm .This includes "official" FSX support, FSUIPC v4 support and some improvements to ensure the best possible FSX experience. ASv6.5 is ALSO fully compatible with FS2004! You can use either sim or both (one at a time of course!), having ASv6.5 provide full weather generation in any scenario with ease.It is important to note that ASG and AR, 2 bundled components in ASv6 and 6.5, are compatible only with FS9. FSX has significant technology changes which require us to redesign graphic and radar components (which we are actively doing, of course!).Also important to note, FSX and the new SimConnect API, as of release version, include several new enhancements to weather as well as some limitations. This is all explained in the documentation and the important text file included in the installation: FSX Compatibility.txt. Please be sure to give this a read.Microsoft has hinted that the SDK including FSX SimConnect API is expected to be updated. Potential new features and removal of certain limitations with weather are eagerly anticipated to further enhance weather simulation within this great new FS version. More information on such potential improvements (and how we will be making use of them) will be posted as it becomes available.Thank you everyone for your continued support! October 21, 200619 yr Hello,I just bought abnd downloaded the new 6.5 full version for FSX.When I run setup.exe I get the following error and have to abortError 1335: The Cabinet file 'Data1.cab' is corrupt and can not be usedWhat can I do to fix this ?I already tried to download it twice with the same error. Thanks,
October 21, 200619 yr Try installing with Antivirus software turned off. There's a heap of stuff in the MS Knowledge Base and on the net about this error number and AV seems to be the culprit in a lot cases. William Hall
October 21, 200619 yr Thanks for the update Damian, much appreciated. With the ability to run AS with both FS9 & FSX is it possible to create 2 INI files to set the different options required for FS9 & FSX and then create 2 shortcuts, one with an INI file for FS9 and one for the other INI file for FSX?I run ASv6 on a second PC and link to FS via Widefs.ThanksEDIT: Slight typo in 'FSX Compatibility.txt'9)'....you may wish to point the ASv6.ini FS9 folder entry to your FSX path instead of FSX,...'I assume that should read '....you may wish to point the ASv6.ini FS9 folder entry to your FSX path instead of FS9,...Dave
October 21, 200619 yr In the "revisions.txt" file, point 2 says "Please read the FSXInfo.txt document for important FSX compatibility information." I can't find this file within the zip file?Tim
October 21, 200619 yr You will find the file "FSXInfo.txt" in your ActiveSky directory after installing the update.Uli

October 21, 200619 yr Hi! Great news! :DI bought ASV6 some months ago. Now I formatted my pc to install FSX.I just have to install the update? or the .exe that I received back then. Thanks in advance,MS
October 21, 200619 yr OK. FSUIPC will connect the 2 programs.I will try to install just the update and if it needs the main program exe will install it.MS
October 21, 200619 yr Mine is a no-go. I even went so far as to remove AS6 and reinstall it with all updates to its own folder. I plan on uninstalling FS9 before too long. When I load FSX, the header on the AS window says "ActiveSky 6.5 FS Active" but all it does is download the weather for the default station, in this case its KSEA. It is not updating FSX itself. When I exit from FSX, the AS window shows "Disconnected" so I can see that it detects FSX. I went into ASX6.ini and changed the FSPath to the one holding FSX.I cannot find FSXInfo.txt anywhere on my hard drive. I do have a file called FSX Compatibility.txt. Is that the same one?John
October 21, 200619 yr Author Commercial Member Hi,That's the file, it was mis-named.So FSUIPC connection is made (indicated with the Active/Disconnected messages) but FSUIPC isn't sending latitude/logitude information to AS so it knows your location. That is indeed strange. Please post your FSUIPC.log file after replicating this problem, it may show what is wrong. Thanks! Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
