November 16, 200619 yr Gary:In principle, I agree. But what do I do with my fantastic 24" LCD and almost equally beautiful 20.1" LCDs ?!JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
November 16, 200619 yr Author JS, the VX922 is a gorgeous monitor. Compared to my 4-year old Apple 20 inch widescreen, its clarity is simply amazing in FSX. When I have them running side by side displaying the same signal I see details on the Viewsonic that just don't appear on the Apple. I'm not sure, however, whether that's due to running FSX in widescreen mode when it's best suited to a 4x3 format, or whether 4-year old technology is being surpassed. The Viewsonic also probably has a 10 times greater refresh rate than the old Apple. My principal problem with the Viewsonic - as compared to the Apple - is that it's a very cold monitor. The Apple images are warm and quite realistic, whereas the Viewsonic images are rather austere and uninviting. I'm presently working with the monitor's software controls and the various nVidia software settings to see if I can make the Viewsonic images more appealing. I feel certain this can be worked out; it will just take some experimentation and fiddling with all the various settings available.Robert Robert Chartoff

November 16, 200619 yr JSGlue these two pictures together and you get the general idea.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/161290.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/161291.jpgThe join on a dual head goes down the middle of the PFD or at least between the PFD and ND. Regards Howard H D Isaacs
November 16, 200619 yr Thx JS.Yeah..that Samsung looks good. 250 X 3 = 750. I wish I had not gotten the 24" Dell at $1100. :)Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 16, 200619 yr No JS.I already thought about this too. Since I plan to replace my 24" with th # x 19".Pretty soon, we are going to end up with twp PCs. Now, Imagine..running your main PC with the front 3 monitors..and the second PC running the 24" for your left side window.;)I tested this using the FSX MultiPlayer option. The left view on the 24 is spectaculor. How about that. MannyBTW... I was also hoping that MAtrox would come up with the gadget to have the 24" LCD for the front middle and two smaller widescreen (tilted) for the left and right front views...all synced up. I am dreaming.:( Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

November 17, 200619 yr Manny:There is simply NO WAY I am getting rid of my beautiful 24" LCD ! Incidentally, why do you think it works well specifically as a left hand window view? I share your desire to have the 24" LCD in front flanked by two other panels. I have thought about buying another 20.1" LCD to match the existing one which I would stick on the left side and then have a monumental three screen view of FS9. But HOW to do this? Even with Triplehead? It's all a logistical and visual headache. One really should just get 3x19" LCDs and finished. But HOW to settle on such small panels after experiencing such big, wide screens and views ?!Alas, we dream on. After all this forum chat, I think I am going to stay as-is for now and just enjoy what I have and not spend any more $$ for the time being. I do have an amazing SPOT view of the 744 with an image about 3 feet long so I am happy with that.JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
