September 18, 200718 yr Just bit the bullet and ordered my yoke. Waiting for Amazon to get it in and overnight it. One of the deciding factors is the built in USB hub...I have heard mixed reviews about the Saitek pedals though and my CH pedals are about to go so I am up in the air about that one...Any suggestions?-Paul Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
September 19, 200718 yr I have the Pro Pedals and love em. In fact, I would fly with the keyboard if it mean I had to decide between the pedals and a stick. I am really thinking about this yoke as soon as I hear some feedback. I cannot force myself to purchase the CH yoke after seeing it and messing with it in frys. I hope the built quality is better, from pics is sure looks like it will be.DO-
September 19, 200718 yr The pedals look great too (I think there is a short demo on YouTube). I think I shall replace all of my flight surface control hardware with SAITEK over the next 3 months.JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
September 20, 200718 yr After the clamp mounts on my CH yoke broke yesterday (this is my second CH yoke and the second to break), I decided to order the Saitek yoke. My yoke/throttles shipped from Amazon today! I can't wait!

September 20, 200718 yr Will do. I am standing at the front door willing UPS to show up now. My CH is already unplugged and on the floor staring at me like a puppy I am trying to discipline. September 20, 200718 yr Everybody:Please POST your experiences with the new SAITEK hardware! September 20, 200718 yr It's awesome. Personally I love it. The reviewer must have had a bad LCD on his because I can see my clock from anywhere. The clamps are a bit big and bulky for my liking so I just used two little C clamps from Home Depot. Anyone with a sliding keyboard tray hanging under the desk where your yoke mounts will find they have to do the same. There IS tension. All Axis appear to have a "spring" to center and a slight pull against center. It is an awesome feeling opposed to the plastic CH that could be moved with my little finger. All in all I am very pleased with the purchase although I have not hooked up the throttle yet as I have a CH quad and I remember the nightmare of setting up detents...Definitely a step up from the CH,-PaulPrimary RigLiquid CooledIntel C2D E6600 @3.2 gigsAsus P5N32SLI-Plus2 gigs Corsair XMS PC6400 4 4 4 12 @810Dual OC'd XFX 8800GTX @ 2 gigs24 inch Widescreen LCD 16XAA/16XAFDual 19 inch LCD'sRaid-0+1PCPower and Cooling 1k Quad SLIhttp://home.comcast.net/~psolk/3monitorsa.htmlBackup RigAMD 4000 San Diego @ 2.72 Gigs Kingston Corsair XMS CL2XFX 7900 GTX Raid-0 Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

It is phenomenal. Finally the POV hat is on the left side so I can use it to glance up and down at my speed during the t/o roll and while taxiing. You can also pan and use the mouse at the same time now. The CH was on the right side so I would have to take my hand off the throttle to pan. The buttons are a massive improvement over the little CH buttons, the clock is awesome and it is thinner and deeper which I like. It does not come into view when looking at the monitor like the CH did. I am 25 minutes 51 seconds into EGLL-LLBG as I write this thanks to the clock on the yoke. The actual feel of the yoke is much more solid, it has a built in USB hub with what looks like a power supply plug input as well but I turned the box in and out and can't seem to find a plug for it.All in all I can't find anything negative except the clamps and that is only because I have a keyboard tray under the yoke. Like I mentioned earlier though, two little C clamps did the tirck perfectly as you can easily slide the Saitek clamps out.Hope that helps anyone on the fence,-PaulPrimary RigLiquid CooledIntel C2D E6600 @3.2 gigsAsus P5N32SLI-Plus2 gigs Corsair XMS PC6400 4 4 4 12 @810Dual OC'd XFX 8800GTX @ 2 gigs24 inch Widescreen LCD 16XAA/16XAFDual 19 inch LCD'sRaid-0+1PCPower and Cooling 1k Quad SLIhttp://home.comcast.net/~psolk/3monitorsa.htmlBackup RigAMD 4000 San Diego @ 2.72 Gigs Kingston Corsair XMS CL2XFX 7900 GTX Raid-0 Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
September 20, 200718 yr Paul:Is the yoke s-m-o-o-t-h? Does that steel work well? Any other comments about "feel", accuracy, free play, etc. welcome.I have the same gig as you with my keyboard under the yoke. Not perfect. Do you have enough room for the fingers and keys? Thanks for your update!JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
September 20, 200718 yr Yes, absolutely it is smooth and that is without any lubrication on the metal... The feel is great, there is a snap to center although it could be a bit "heavier" IMHO. It is MUCH better than the CH though. As for the keyboard issue with the CH clamps there is no chance to get to the keyboard or to slide it out. That is why I had my fiance take me to home depot with my canes LOL just to get the C clamps. The yoke was a present to me for my spinal surgery next week. Once you throw on the C clamps or even just a little set of clip clamps for $1.99 you are all set.Not perfect but no complaints at all!Order it today!-PaulPrimary RigLiquid CooledIntel C2D E6600 @3.2 gigsAsus P5N32SLI-Plus2 gigs Corsair XMS PC6400 4 4 4 12 @810Dual OC'd XFX 8800GTX @ 2 gigs24 inch Widescreen LCD 16XAA/16XAFDual 19 inch LCD'sRaid-0+1PCPower and Cooling 1k Quad SLIhttp://home.comcast.net/~psolk/3monitorsa.htmlBackup RigAMD 4000 San Diego @ 2.72 Gigs Kingston Corsair XMS CL2XFX 7900 GTX Raid-0 Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
September 20, 200718 yr >it has a built in USB hub with what looks like a power supply plug>input as well but I turned the box in and out and can't seem>to find a plug for it.That plug is for an external power supply for the USB hub. The power supply is not included with the Yoke and must be purchased seperately.
