Thanks very much for sharing these settings. I haven't tried fiddling with the IOH and ICH voltages. Do you know their default values? And did you need to change them to stabilise the RAM? Or the CPU? Or both?Tim
Tim,What Mainboard do you own?IOH, ICH and QPI/VTT voltages are very important for stability with higher BCLK and or Memory clocks. If you increase the BCLK to overclock your CPU and/or Memory, this also affects the north- (ICH) and south-bridge (IOH) Chip on the mainboard. With higher clocks you need more voltage, but how much more is depending on many factors. The only way to find out the right settings is by trail.I will tell you the default voltages as soon as I am at home this evening.Patrick

In the left column are the default Voltages for ASUS R2E.....................Default Value................Suggested Value for 200BCLK with 21Multi (Turbo) and 1600MHz RAMCPU:............Depends on CPU............1.20 - 1.375CPU PLL:......1.81..............................1.84QPI/DRAM:...1.20.............................1.30 - 1.40IOH:............1.11.............................1.20 - 1.30IOH PCIE:....1.51.............................1.52ICH:............1.11.............................1.19 - 1.23ICH PCIE:....1.51.............................1.52DRAM:.........Depends on RAM...........1.65There is no guaranty that this settings will be the best for your components, but you will be on the save side. Make also sure you have always a good airflow (4 or more 120mm Fans) inside your case.Try to raise your BCLK until the System becomes unstable or the CPU heat will go over 85C. Test the stability with Prime95 (run it at least for 60 minutes) or 3DMark06 (5-10 times)Never let the Voltage values on auto if you overclock BCLK and/or RAM.Hope this will help for overclocking.

I have the Mushkin Redline Ascent 1600 6-6-5-18 and they're beautiful and support there is great. Just have to avoid a bad batch of chips but I think they got it sorted out by now. Those tight timings make all the difference.
Regarding Mushkin ram, I used to use it a couple of years ago with good success (in both clocking and in stability).
The Mushkins runs great on the R2E. Just always use the newest BIOS Version, that's the Key.
I ended up going with the Mushkin Redline Ascent 6GB (3 x 2GB) (PC3 12800) (6-6-5-18) -http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820226061I figured with my mild overclocking expectations along with the un-locked multiplier on the 975, the tighter timings were more important than the speed. Thanks again for the responses.
Hi,Yes frames are all around 20-25 in this area without movie capturing. I have a LOD Radius of 6.5000 so the ground is always crisp. Fast memory and HDD are very important for a crisp ground.
Sorry, just leaving FS9 here in a few months for FSX, what do you mean HDD? What is that? Thanks

HDD means Hard Disk Drive.Today I get my new RAM OCZ 2000MHz 7-8-7-20. Will underclock it to 1600MHz 5-6-5-15 and show you the result. This evening I have more time ;-)

That is so nice...the timings I mean. To me that is the biggest difference between last years DDR3 vs. this year's DDR3. My first gen DDR3 can't do those timings at 1600.

Unfortunately I was not able to run the OCZ Mems with the timings 5-6-5-15...Here is a new Video with OCZ Mem @ 7-7-6-18 with 1800MHz. For this Movie I used Fraps again witch steels 5 FPs. The CPU was clocked to 4.2GHzhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RswjFg249FMI will test some more with my new Mainboard ASUS P6T7 Supercomputer.

Hi there.I am just wondering how FSX will run on ASUS P6T7 Supercomputer equipped with a 975/950/920d0 chip, 6GB tr.chn DDR3 low latency RAM, raptor 10000rpm HDDs and multiple GTX285 GPUS in SLI/CUDA setup :( . core i7s OC to at least 4GHZ of course :(. I have a 42 inch FTV monitor 1920x1080 and can't imagine what its going to bee like :( .

Has someone found a way of making FSX benefit from Tesla? If not, then I can't imagine that Asus's so-called "Supercomputer" will will make a jot of difference. Remember Intel's "Skulltrail"?Tim

SLI is very bad for FSX. With my 2 GTX280 in SLI FSX runs worse than with only one 280!I dont buy the P6T7 because of its uber SLI Support, but for the fact this Mainboard should be very fast and stable and has SAS Support on board.

My purpose to buy this Board I wrote in Post 26. The heat should be no problem as some has tested this already. The latency is only 1-3% so I doubt that this will be noticeable and the fact, that this board is the fastest on today

In reference to the comment about SLI and running one card versus two shows an improvement in FPS. I currently have two 8800 GTX's in SLI and have ok performance in FSX, would it run better if I removed a card and only used one? I do have SLI off in nhancer. Any thoughts? Thanks,John
